@cath370 He came with Seven Outis in a banner, so he was added to the game. This is still a great ID btw, thanks to being extremely reliable burn count application when at the tine only Meursault could apply it, and his support passive is kinda busted.
a bit of added information: Hong Lu's 1st skill actually counts as 1 coin skill even if it is reused (tested with Grimy Old Nail and the EGO Gift is activated properly on all coin roll). i haven't tested on Commemoration Coin but if it can also be activated, Dieci Hong Lu would become a killing machine in MDH lol
I can recommend using G corp outis for the sinking team she may not inflict much of it but she's also not burning a crap ton of count and the buffs will generally be favourable in the long run
I personally always run Foxcliff, not only does he apply Sinking but Ya Sunyata also allows your team to spam EGOs like crazy while keeping full SP (+ fox synergy with Sunshower, they're oomfies). He does have kinda high coin counts but that's not a big deal since he allows Rodya to spam Rime Shank every turn without actually corroding, so overall a net positive
@@KuroiShiAnimu I still prefer G corp Outis over Suncliff personally, don't even need MFE Heath when Holiday Outis also gives crazy SP regen. There is the problem of Envy gen, but that can be fixed with a good ego gen gift
Small cool thing ahout Deici Hong Lu in the mirror dungeon- if you get commemorative coin it always reuses his skill 1, even if the first use is 3 coins, and the second use will also be 3 coins. This makes him a little bit goofy
Have you even read his uptie stories? He is basically “Yayyy I love killing people!!!” in all his IDs except W corp where he calls his job boring (but he wants to train the new recruits to see how they react to the truth.) And in chapter 5 when the whale’s stomach acid was burning a hole through his shoulder he just said the “water” “feels a bit prickly.” He’s the opposite of “sane.”
PM: we don't have favorite sinner Also, PM: *Make all of Houg lu Ids good* Anyhow Like I say a lot of time, I think this Yi sang is just for new players who don't have Spicebush or don't have any good Ids (I still maybe going for Yi sang because I love his art and because I don't have Spicebush so yeah)💀 Hong lu is just being Houg lu as usually with a broken Id (he might be better then Spicebush Yi sang to if we going that far 💀) I still not going for this banners tho, I'm still waiting and saving up for Captain Ishmael so yeah
Farmwatch didn't make it because character he's based on was a controversial figure in real Korea. While there is not a single reason to think that we won't be getting Ahabmael.
Guaranteed season 000 has 2 blank areas left, so assuming one of those areas is meant for the BL event, the only other ID that could fill in the last spot would have to be Ahabmael. Unless we get another surprise 000 Middle ID. Or Indigo Elder, if you find yourself so disbelieving of Captain Ishmael that you’d think getting a Color ID now is more likely.
The discard tech is probably an intended mechanic. Since it hasn't been patched out since the first set of discard characters. It probably was even intended with the design of Hong Lu. The only downside is compared to other discard characters if you maintain 3 insight you lose basically all control over what skills you draw.
There is no way that the Discard Tech (i usually call it Top Decking) is not intended. It has a level of risk where you're slowing down your ability to cycle your deck and turning off Dieci discard bonuses (shields down for Fists, Damage down for Keys) But most importantly, Hong Lu's Insight Skimming passive would be completely useless outside of Top Decking him, why would he need to boost his insight BETWEEN attacks, when the next time he attacks he's just going to replace it with his next discarded skill rank? His passive ONLY makes sense if he's not refreshing his insight when he attacks, which can only be done by Top Decking with Hong Lu
You can have 1 or 2 damage up with 1 or 2 insight , i am not able to understand what you mean by passive only makes sense with this tech. Insight is needed to be boosted between attacks because of skill 3 which does not discard a skill. Cycling a deck is not a problem when every skill gets atleast coin power +2 with this tech.Just admit it is a broken tech that needs fixing. On top of that this tech makes his 2nd part of passive where he gets +1 insight when other insight IDs discard higher rank skill compared to his insight, mostly useless.
@@stuntkid1870 Yes, you are getting more coin power with locking in Insight 3, but you're losing the potential of a +10-30% damage Insight 3 attack in doing so. Forgive me for not noticing the S3 does not have a Discard effect on it, i did an entire MD3H and didn't notice that fact, but my major point still stands: This line of text with Insight Skimming has so many conditions that it becomes near useless if you're not Top Decking with Hong Lu. Yes, you can use it While he's not at Insight 3 using exactly and only his S3 to allow him to skim a insight off another Discard Unit either the Turn Before (slower than Hong Lu) or the Turn Of (Faster than Hong Lu) when you have Gloom Resonance of 3. I think that's 1-2 too many restrictions to have a line of Passive pay off, so it makes more sense to remove the "only if using S3 since that's all that doesnt discard in this kit" by Top Decking with Hong Lu, now allowing him to skim Insight in peace with no risk of having it be reset by him discarding. As for Cycling, you still have to worry about having 12 Clashing S1s on your dashboard, you cant just make them go away like you can with Molars. Unlike Dieci Rodion, your Clashing isn't exactly faultless when Top Decking. you dont have a minimum clashing of 15 like her. and without any kind of discard shield and a frail set of stats, he really cant be taking unopposed attacks in order to get his S1s unopposed in turn, at least not consistantly, not like the Fists can.
Thx for explaining how Insight works! I started Limbus last Friday and got Dieci Hong Lu in my second pull. I heard in several videos about different mechanics how strong he is, but found him rather okeish and was wondering what I was doing wrong. Now, four days later, I finally have an idea how he is supposed to be used. XD
Deici Yi Sang, another classic case of a 2 star being released with the primary intention of being used as a support. He can go join LCB Ryoshu and cook Gregor for dinner while the rest of the team does the work. Also that skill 1 on Hong Lu is a lot better than you give it credit for. It's high offense level with a base power of 7, sure it's still only 12 but in terms of consistency its actually one of better S1s in the game. Though that's only solid at low sanity, since obviously the other two beat it.
There's no way they will change the discard defense interaction because that'll actually be a buff to discard IDs. Like you get to do the Dieci gaming AND your defense deletes a skill so you cycle 2 skills a turn regardless of whether or not you're discarding so you still see your S3 twice as often. Right now the fact that it doesn't do that is actually a downside
G Outis, especially at uptie 4 since her S3 applies 9 sinking which is big when compounded with Rimeshank fixing count. Her having only 1 coin skills is good for sinking since she doesn't rip through count at all, and her sin affinities perfectly fuel Sunshower Yi Sang as well as chaining resonances. You can also run Sunshower Heath, but he's got... problems EDIT: I forgot, if you have the Holiday Outis ego the passive gives 1 potency of a random status (out of 5) to an enemy whenever you apply a buff to an ally, and both her S1 and S2 apply buffs to allies so it'll be activating a lot. A nice little bonus for whenever it lands on sinking If you wanted a 6 id team, I recommend Zwei Greg. His defense boosts are helpful for the whole team, even Rodion, and he is a self sufficient decent clashing DPS and second tank. Since Spicebush and G Outis are blunt weak and quite fragile, it's extra assurance that they don't get oneshot by a stray attack. His sin affinities are the exact same as G Outis, and he can fuel Legerdemain extremely easily on this team which gives you cheap AoE paralysis. The only caveat is that he has a lot of coins, meaning he goes through sinking count quite quickly
I think fixing the discard tech is pretty easy. all they need to do is make the guard skill register like any other skill and have a rank when discarded (probably one).
I think it’s an intentional mechanic, since the discard tech also means you can’t use EGO since you will discard the skill above the EGO if you do. Many Discard identities also gain bonuses on discard, so you are sacrificing your discard bonuses for consistent rolls/damage. For example, Dieci Rodya can’t gain shield if you use the discard tech, so it turns her from a tank into a DPS.
@@tepig2828 I don't think completely ignoring multiple mechanics in the game to ignore engaging with another mechanic more than once and having a character that rolls higher than 20 with every single skill every turn is intended. not to mention using ego isn't as big of a negative as you make it out to be.
@@frednormal8356Eh, you’re trading your higher damage ceiling for more consistency, similarly to how Rodion trades her shields. Either way, I doubt pm is somehow oblivious to Rodion’s mechanics, so I don’t see them “fixing” this if they’re releasing more units with those mechanics.
@@amyyost7022 but thats the thing you're not. even if you use ego it takes 2 turns at most to get back to a skill 3 because of the discard mechanic. so virtually you are losing nothing to get consistent high damage. also this is the first time I've heard of this tech so it isn't out of the realm of possibility that pm aren't aware of it either. edit : even less actually cuz using ego only ever messes up the discard tech if you have more than 1 slot so you will almost always be at 3 insight the very next turn.
@@frednormal8356 I feel like you should understand how a character works, or at least have read their kits once, before you give feedback on them. Hong Lu’s passive gives damage up when he discards skills, equal to the rank of the skills discarded, up to 3. This tech and its downsides are readily apparent by reading the skills, and I don’t even know where to start on you suggesting that project moon’s just never heard of this. They’re pretty fast at fixing unintended exploits, and it’s been months since Rodion released.
sad the numbers aren't super great on the Yisang. its a lot of coins so it wins more clashes than you think and the boy is really tanky but it's still disappointing.
I'm really sad he doesn't give +2 Count on skill 1. Other than that, we're finally 4 out of 5 good Sinking IDs, we can almost use the super gift in MD. Also this Hong Lu with Rusty Coin is just nuts
@@MooMooCows Huh? You mean G outis? She's the only Outis that has anything to do with Sinking, and only on her s3....idk if it's worth bringing her and wasting a slot instead of just giving a double slot to someone (assuming you don't just run some other generic goodstuff)
Well her s3 applies 9 sinking potency and she's all single coin and you have sunshower outis ego (If u wanna use the super gift else run generic good stuff)
With Dieci Yi Sang, he’s definitely meant to act as a full-time tank with 2 skills. 10 aggro on his S3 without discarding any skills, defensive skills discards 2 skills and gives 5 aggro, applies 8 sinking potency at max per turn when attacked, gets coin power on S3 when his HP dips below 50%. Considering Spicebush Yi Sang’s sinking deluge becomes useless against non-abno enemies after hitting -45 SP, I’d say Dieci Yi Sang’s got a spot as a dedicated tank ID for human battles where you’d want to utilize sinking to reduce the enemy’s heads flip odds. He’s also able to help Hong Lu gain +1 insight from his passive without the latter having to discard his own S3, it’s only a shame that his defensive skill isn’t gloom to help activate it.
A good example of how PM community doesn't read See ppl? This specimen thinks Deluge does nothing after hitting -45 SP! Fascinating that this exists still...
