Annointed Procession is ANNOYING in the right deck. Even ignoring the one Black card that just makes three Zombies (so that's 6 2/2s on the opponents field for two cards across two turns, a mighty big upside), if they have it out and play, say, the Cat Lord, you're in trouble. Or, even worse - and this happened to me! - if that is out and Sandwurm Convergence hits the field, you straight up lose, no matter how many bombs your deck might have. Approach of the Second Sun is hilarious. You know that card that mills five and can self target? Approach, self mill, cycle, and then you win! Archfiend of Ifnir is the most hilarious thing if you have out a Nest of Scarabs. Not only do you make all of their creatures weaker, potentially killing one, you also get a Scarab for EACH OF THEIR CREATURES! Nest is already a fun combo piece with the very many -1/-1 counters cards, and the Archfiend is just candy. Neheb is interesting since, for the most part, when you attack in with it, you won't really be discarding. You want to be at 1 or less, so oftentimes you'll just be at 0 and your opponent may well not. Can Oracle's Vault utilize Cycling costs?

Thriving Scrubs yeah Aether Revolt was a meh limited format, and agree Amonkhet is a blast so far.

aether revolt has a bad reputation but I liked the replaybility, all colors were fairly balanced, there were different ways to draft it, it wasnt too fast and it wasnt solved until the end. compared to modern masters 3, theros or gatecrash I always was exited to draft it.

Nissa was a late game all star in the 4-0 Sultai Cycle deck I built at pre-release... Sick sick sick! Getting to "ultimate" immediately when it comes down and still have loyalty to spare is huge.

Modern already has this effect (several of it in fact) but it's not used in favor of more efficient white hate enchantments that turn off more than one card. Runed Halo and Nevermore look kind of silly next to Rule of Law (or Eidolon of Rhetoric, or Ethersworn Canonist), Rest in Peace, and Stony Silence.

It's not that it would be bad per-se. It's a magic card, it would do something. But you're not comparing it to nothing, you're comparing it to the card you took out of your deck to put that one in. So it's not about being good or bad, it's about being better or worse. And while it wouldn't be *bad* it would be *worse*.

Victor O'Halloran No. Gideons Intervention stops them from casting cards. Embalm is just putting a token onto the battlefield.

The Token is a Copy, Which I think means it has the same name? So the 'prevent all damage to you and permanents you control' would still apply. :D

Right, I wasnt totally sure about that. But given the second clause the most you're getting for your embalm cost is a chump blocker with 0 power (ouch!) Probably enough of deterent to embalming. Thats why i think it might be a bit better than graded.

nah i don't think that - embalm is rather rare during gameplay - not to speak of "embombs". and its not even good as a sideboardcard against this deck. imagine them not drawing that bomb while you are sitting there with your stupid 4 mana enchantment getting smashed from different creatures. and even if the situation comes up, they still get 1 or 2 walls (not necessary just chump blockes) out of their card while you have no value left. and in case of the mythic angel they continue to keep your permanent locked away in addition to that so I think gideons intervention isnt very good against "embalm decks".

You're a lot more likely to be fighting the gods in sealed than you are in draft - at most you'd want to sideboard it once you saw one, not assume your opponent will have something relevant to that effect.
