Hi Linda - This is absolutely beautiful! Bravo! Now we'll need an equally beautiful and emotional song to reflect the 2020 Pandemic. We've enjoyed you for many years!!! HUGS!
If I Had My Way Linda Eder Long ago and far away Before the world had come to this I took for granted how my life would be Assuming that my freedom would be free Before these evening shadows fell I reveled in the light of day I rarely ever cried, my patience wasn't tried And heroes never died But if I had my way Things would be different Danger wouldn't come from a sky of blue Choices would be clear And strangers would be kinder Love a little blinder As it saved the day If I had my way Every now and then it seems We live our lives to such extremes Racing all around, never homeward bound Losing what we've found But if I had my way Things would be different No one would believe that a lie was true Choices would be clear And wisdom would be heeded Warnings never needed This is what I'd pray If I had my way The milk of human kindness Would seek us out and find us And color all the words we say And hearts would come alive Instead of breaking No one would believe that a lie was true Angels would appear Children would be cherished Hope would never parish Faith would not betray If I had my way
The ten year anniversary, brings back all those feelings..this song sums it up for me very nicely! God Bless. I believe the peaceful will win out......
Linda sang this one week ago tonight at the benefit concert for Sandy Hook entitled "From Broadway with Love." To hear this song, to feel the lyrics and be swept away by the orchestration... there are no words to describe this song as it bears the weight of what happened to those children & to the adults who tried to save them. My wish is that this song could become our National Anthem of Hope. Nothing is more poignant.
Excellent version couldn't possibly display the emotions more explicitly as if She were there. She remains to me a master of her craft. Always changing, developing, invested deeply in the music and words. I have seen her several times not at a "Broadway Type" of Music Performance." This I would be very grateful for a chance to attend in Boston in a year. I would prefer to edit my name. But my new phone will not allow me to. I feel it's inappropriate to view my entire name. I would like to show only my
like to only show my First name. As others who have written a review. I will just have to contact Samsung Support Tech and remove all of this phones properties and it's abilities to control settings. .
This performance has always touched me most deeply. It is a gift to hear this lady sing this song. For me this is all the poignant as a clinical psychologist who responds to disasters and emergencies.
Thank you for posting this. Wow, what a wonderful song and her delivery is so poetic and emotionally filled. I haven't cried listening to anything in so long :)
