Let's face it, if Alison Krauss sets her sights on teaming up with someone for a Duet, no matter if it's a Classic like this one, or something new, that only response should be, "When & where do you need me?". 🍻❤️🔥🇺🇸❤️🔥🍻
Alison comes from a heritage of opera singers, and her voice is reminicient of that kind of innate vocal talent. I used to live next door to her, knew her mom and dad. Was there when she won a Grammy in about 1993. Her VOICE us PURE GOLD!!!! 🎵🌟🌹
This was the last song my father listened to before he died in August 2020. It was his favourite song. Thank you Willie and Ray, Jamey and Alison for this song bringing peace to my father in his last moments.

Oh, I think lots of Spanish Angels, and American Angels, English Angels, French Angels, Irish Angels, German Angels, Polish Angels and all sorts of Angels look after America every single day.
Oh he's been a cover artist at best. Nah I just haven't seen many made popular by him. All he does for others are popular though. Like this one. A cover. They don't like us covering their songs,, but they sure cover each others songs allot. js
@@pamelascott2424 Damn right. there are so many damn good country songs out here you have to find them. for example hardy wait in the truck and Alison Kraus when you say nothing at all , or even Lorrig Morgan , what part of no or mind over body or even Reba Mcentire the heart wont lie , the list doesnt end.
i always thought Reba Mcentire and Alison Kraus and Lorrie Morgan and Loretta Lynn were all Angels. hell Lorrie Morgan and ALison Kraus alone could put me to sleep their so angelic.
Had the pleasure of seeing these two sing it live in Cherokee, NC in August of this year. The chills that came over my body...left me motionless. It wasn't just me. The room was quiet and everyone LISTENED to this majestic duo, Their voices go together like Conway and Loretta's. Like George and Tammy's. FLAWLESS.
This song gives me chills ....I've heard it sung by many artists but Willie and Ray were the ones I heard first, years ago. Kudos to Jamey and Alison for their version!
Willie and Ray's will always be my favorite but Jamie and Allison's version is a very close second. I just wish Ray was there sitting right next to Willie at the event I think he would have absolutely loved it.
What a great performance ! Alison Krauss could sing the Taco Bell menu and make a grown man cry , and Jamey Johnson ................. well , he's basically a living legend .
cudapak Don't get me wrong...... I love Ray Charles. Just the very day before this song was released in the L.A., Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson did that song, the entire audience was on their feet, I, along with most of the audience loved this new song.
Notice that Jamey said "Our rendition" not to take anything away from the original.........Jamey and Allison did an amazing job.........real country music done right.........👍👍
When Willie shakes hi head, you know you got it right. Thanks going out to Willie and Ray for starting this out and Alison and Jamie for carrying in on.

@@rosannecash1701 Thank you so much for your replies. My dear father showed me how to appreciate music through playing and singing. The good Lord took him home back in 1979, but his legend lives on in us children. God Bless and keep pushin' on. 💝
I love Allison Kraus. I met her at one of her shows in Richmond, Virginia. She is/was such a sweet and humble woman to be so incredibly talented. She sounds like an angel straight from heaven when she sings.
Yes, it was SO wonderful to hear a decent performer take over. Long haired dude, who’s name I don’t even know is boring. Seems drunk maybe(?) He jumps into it before he should have, voice is 2nd rate at best, blew the timing more than once, why is he even holding a guitar if that’s all he’s doing with it? Guy just isn’t up to snuff for this at all in any way shape or form. She is ok for the most part. Little too much singing and little too little feeling in my opinion. Do all the warbling and big high notes all you want but if the gut/primal feeling and emotion isn’t there, it just ain’t there. Those three black background singers though.. could have sang that 1,000 times better than those two. Bleh. I’m just glad Ray Charles isn’t around to see this.
Somewhere Between Jennings and Jones, High Cost of Living, Mowing Down the Roses, In Color .. He's songs tell such a story. In Color I mean that's a tear jerker. And what a voice.
My Dad used to sing this to me as a girl. I still get misty when I hear it. I didn't fully understand the lyrics as a kid, but as an adult, the lyrics are so powerful.
I’m partial to John Anderson but Jamey is amazing also. Both have distinct voices. You know who it is when you hear them. Willie too. Jamey with that guitar is Willie on steroids.

Oh I think as far as female singers go Linda Ronstadt is at the top and all others are below her. Emmy Lou Harris, Dolly Parton, Allison are all good but Linda is the absolute best.
You mean the commercial pop country that whores itself out to the hip hop music acts? Well that's not going to change my friend. Diversity is the plague we suffer from.
@@chrismc.4437 l complain about hip hop having sold out to commerce as well but l think diversity is humanity's strength ,take this song for an example ,it was written by a white and black man ,give a little a love .
Every time I hear this song it reminds me of what a General told us before deploying to Iraq. His exact words, "If you are ever in a position to decide to give in or fight till the death in combat and about to get captured by the enemy, you are better off fighting till the last breath is taken." It didn't mean much to me at the time, but knowing how POW's were treated and tortured I now understand his words. Its best to be taken by an Angel than your enemy.

Thank you so much for your reply. But, to me, we're still in 2020 (2.0). 2021 begins when (and if) the powers that be garner the common sense to hose down all those blue-city, needle-ridden sidewalks... and we all are willing benefactors of Trump's under-appreciated, take-charge Warp-Speed... and become inoculated against the greater politically-activated virus as well. [And not one ounce of thanks to the current asterisk-elect empty suit, selected by-and anointed by-a single-party/media-driven/Big Tech complex… which make-believes itself above the very Constitution that made their nefarious joint act possible in the first place ("left" out Academia-oops).] {For now, we are counting on YOU, Georgia... you are on our minds.}
This is a country masterpiece. Jamey Johnson is right up there with Merle, Waylon and David Allen Coe. Allison Krause is in a league of her own. Country just don't sound like these two anymore.
We played this song at my Father’s funeral. I will probably have this song played at mine. Allison is something else. I want to thank Jamey for carrying on that older country sound.
Jamey Johnson is Country. Stalwart artist Allison Krause never fails to send chills down my spine with her sweet, lilting, haunting voice. Use your dollars to choose what you think "Country" is. Send your message to Nashville. Murder was committed down on Music Row.
My eyes watered in the very first phrase. Two phenomenal...angelic voices singing one of the most powerful songs of the era. Love it so much! 10.8 Million views so far!
My mom's favorite song .i really didn't think these 2 could do it.but to my amazement their great.im with my man Willie teers in my eyes.moma left Jan 14 1014.but I know she's listening an watching.she was a Angel on earth.now a Beautifull Angel in heaven. Miss moms every second.of my life.but so glad she didn't have to see the world we are left in.. God bless.🙏
I`m 61 years old and i have lost so many pals lately that you can only wonder who`s next? but many of them made Jesus Christ their Personal Lord and Saviour. Through Jesus is the only way to make it into Heaven. and also Hell is a real place also.
This my daddy’s and his best friend favorite song they drank beer and danced to this song they were more like brothers they are both in heaven looking down at me and his daughter gosh how I miss my daddy and his brother best friend RIP ❤️
You should listen to her more. She's won more Grammy's than anybody else. Like, 27. Her band is Union Station and they are all excellent musicians. She's very versatile too. Her album she made with Robert Plant won Album of the Year I think.
The backup singers was out of this worldly good! I wonder if that was the Rayettes. Allison's voices away is impeccable as is Jamie Johnson's. And you could so see the appreciation in the admiration on Willie's face.
