Love is often wasted on the undeserving. Lindsay should slap on his blinders to the past as though it never happened. Then his mind would be free and he could mix it up with some other musicians, create new memories, create new music, and that is what keeps you young and alive. What I mean is to recreate, become forward looking, not reminiscing which is something that old people do when they have given up on creating anything new. Recreation is the fountain of youth. We think recreation means rest or taking a time out but what it really means is activity from a blank slate. Recreate.

So what I'm saying, for some it is helpful to stop looking backwards and to look forwards and yes, you do feel younger and more enthusiastic. When you feel the sublime emotions you become energized. I adore this man. I think their relationship was exactly what it needed to be. can you imagine some of these songs would have never existed without their passionate love/hate.
Their was a fair amount of drug use also that could have blurred their perceptions and caused friction over trivial disagreements. Stevie has mentioned that she would have grams of coke in her boot.Im not knocking their drug use it was the 70s,but it could have affected their relationship negatively for sure.

I always wonder what Lindsey's wife thinks about him and Stevie. It must be so hard to live in an odd triangle like that. Stevie had her priorities out of order and wrong. Next after God Marriage is number , not anything else let alone your job! That was her problem which she said our of her own mouth. She put the band and career above her marriage. The marriage relationship is Number 1 in the line of priorities. Even children and family are number 2 because you need to keep a good marriage relationship to have a good family. All the rest come after this. This is why most marriages break up, their priorities are out of wack.
Knowing this video and your comment are years old I don't feel too bad for his wife. She's the one he married, not Stevie. Plus bore a few kids with him and I'm sure she'll inherit his money. This coming from someone who has LOVED them for over 40 years.

I think Stevie and Lindsay have remained good friends but were very toxic to each other back in the day. I also think on some level they still love each other, which is natural and is ok as long as they both respect each other's partner. It is what it is. Many of us have that one person that we will always love, while recognizing that they should never go back to that place. Do you understand what I'm saying? It's all good. I think Lindsey has mellowed a lot in his years. He seems more humbled. I think he loved her more than she did him. I think they were both just way to intense for each other. Sort of like competing personalities. That happens a lot with artists who are in a relationship with each other. I also believe the drugs, especially cocaine, they took heavy partake in their young years probably had an adverse effect on Lindsey's personality because he seems to me to already be an energetic hyper kind of guy. Coke does not go well with that kind of person. Hence his tendency to having a volatile temper. I dont know of course, just observing from a far I get the feeling thats how it is. Any way, I've loved the Mac my entire adult life. Since I first heard them in 1974. Every dime I spent buying their albums and going to their concerts.... worth every single penny. They have given me so much joy. Each and every one of them! I LOVE THE MAC!

I don't think Stevie loves him if you listen to MANY of her interviews. She finds him maddening, and if you read between the lines of what she's said she doesn't really find him that "attractive" anymore, meaning she's not attracted to his talent at the expense of what drives her nuts about him. Ergo, this isn't an "even" relationship. Lindsay appears to have less issues with Stevie than vice versa.

i dont think they were even soul mates ,they were tow people who got together with a same goal and that was to sing and play rock and roll and get rich,,stevie was already bumping around with another band member so ,she wanted the rock life and he wanted the family life too but ,well she didnt obviously want any kids ,her career became her kidand he moved on ,his wife is totally beautiful lady so i think hes not so heart broken,just part of the show

They don't realize how UGLY things got between the 2. During many different eras. She was boinking guys and having them sit in the front row of shows to taunt him, he had a terrible temper and it got physical at times, he then was dating a real nutjob in the early 80s who ended up making Nicks' life a living hell. These are the under-the-hood stories that reveal some of the ugly truths. The fans want it to be something that the 2 of them know is far from the truth. He himself has admitted they play off that desired dynamic onstage, meaning it may LOOK genuine, but it's all part of the showmanship that makes their stage presence so powerful. This is not a romance novel, it's just life with its beauty and true ugliness amplified by the rock n roll lifestyle.

@@simoneu.nathaus7292 it is easy to be swept away on romantic notions that this public figure should be with that public figure, however there are probably reasons that it would not work out and maybe even not be healthy for one or both, just like there are feelings that it would be great if it did. a lot of times when you are away from someone you have had a relationship with, it is easy to be nostalgic for what was and what could have been, however if you try to rekindle the relationship and make it work , some of the reasons that it fell apart resurface. it is easy to dream of them being together, but then you don't have to wake up every morning and make the relationship work, so maybe leave them to decide on their own. like the man said "you know very little about them then" if you don't understand that it was a painful breakup for Lindsey and there are reasons that Stevie isn't interested in going back to it again. a lot of it is in interviews and music industry stories and rumors, but a lot of it is stuff you will never know. bottom line: if it hasn't happened after all of these years, there are probably good reason it hasn't, so leave it alone.
After the first big reunion, they were preforming "Landslide." I only have the audio, but at the end she says "Thank you Lindsay" and he responds "Thank you Stevie" and there are just worlds of emotion in those six words.
No matter what Lindsey and Stevie say in interviews, of course they will downplay their deepest feelings for each other out of respect for Lindsey's family. But the way they say certain things and also the way they look at each other and touch each other, it is so heartbreakingly obvious how much in love with each other they still are. They will always belong to each other in a very precious way. They are the most beautiful couple ever. I just pray they finally give in to their feelings one day and get back together forever. I appreciate and value Stevie's music immensely, but her attitude is total garbage as of late. She should have just left, it's wrong to pin her front-woman vocals against Buckingham's mastery of both the guitar and music production. She asked the band to sell out for tickets and they complied. A band with integrity would have dismissed Stevie instead: she no longer wants to make new music, whats the point?

Its amazing the restraint and love he shows for Stevie. You can tell he wants to say more, but is not willing to go down that road. Unrequited love is so painful, especially when you have spent that better part of your life loving someone and still have mutual feelings for each other, but just can't seem to make it work anymore and eventually rehash and open OLD WOUNDS. This is what we do in the CO DEPENDENCY relationships. Sad...very sad....truthfully, I fell Lindsey never truly got the respect he earned and deserves and Stevie has turned into a PRIMA DONNA! Interesting there still exists friction today between Stevie and Lindsey. When I see them on stage now, I wanted to believe it was all in the past. I sensed from the look in Lindsey's eyes that was a difficult question to respond to.

I have loved this couple since I have no memory. They are both outstanding in their own rights, let alone together. One of my earliest memories was "Second-Hand News" on the radio. To this day, I teach my son and daughter One of the best connections and loves was a girl named Stevie and a man named Lindsey. MY KIDS are in grade School and could pick out both their voices and his guitar......
You don't just stop loving someone that you shared a deep love for at one time but fate had a different direction for those two. They love each other but in another interview he and Stevie said not in a romantic way. They made beautiful music together and we got to see something very special

I really would be somewhat insecure if I was any of his girlfriends or now wife because although I am sure he loves his wife and family there is just something still there for his soul mate, Stevie and that would be hard to deal with. To say what he said in this interview is one thing but it's what is in his voice and the eyes just give it away that he would have never wanted to part ways with his Stevie whom I sense he will always love. The great thing is that a younger wife doesn't take away the love and memories for a woman who is now in her 60's and as he said their relationship is still a work in progress. I've got a Rolling Stone mag that is dedicated to FMac and the band members touch upon the physical abuse a little. It's a touchy subject, Lindsay denies it, Stevie never mentions it, the band kinda verifies it. They were there.
