Also, she passed a polygraph given to her by an FBI agent. While not admissible in court, the Senate could consider it as to credibility. Also, she did not WANT all of this made pubic. It was the press who found out about it and sought HER out! And no, the Constitution does not say a nominee needs to be scandal free. But it DOES say the Senate has to advise and consent. And over many years, the Senate has taken the position when advising that a nominee must be of good moral character and above reproach in order to be 100% (or as close as you can get to it) fair and impartial. Other nominees have been denied a seat for much less.

It was because of this hearing (and Lindsey Graham's speech) that I (a life long "female" Democrat) held my nose and voted for Ted Cruz instead of Beto O'Rourke. Mr Graham's speech inspired me to vote for a Republican. Hell must have froze over... BUT I could not stomach the way the Democrats treated Brett Kavanaugh! In Texas it really fired up the Republican base. I stood in line to vote for over an hour!

Samuel Kelley Jr i somehow actually watched almost all 10 hours of it and holy fuck did that make me tired so ill sum it up for most of you who dont want to bother watching it. ford had 3 witnesses that all say they have no memory of proof of this ever happening but he best friend said she does belive her but then ford shot herself in the foot saying her friend has a history of mental health which is a red flag on being trustworthy then Kavanaugh had his calendar/ diary from when he was young which he explained his dad who was very well orgonized did that because he was a lawyer too and taught him to do so as well and what the calendar proves is that he was gone every single weekend of the timeframe that this claim happend exept one where he was in town but was with his dad the whole time so thats why that is considered evidence and he also himself had 1 witness that claimed he wasnt there and nothing happened which Kavanaugh then procided to say his bestfriend (his witness) has a history of addiction so just like ford he threw his one witness under the bus making them not be reliable and finally he had tons of people from his past write in and sign a sheet saying he would never do anything like this and that its wrong. Kavanaugh has the high ground and things are looking good for him the only thing that isnt is the fact that he wont let the fbi investigate him but im fairly certain thats because the white house doesnt want to deal with the fbi anymore and told him to not work with them anymore which he has been investigated by the fbi 6 times before in the past just for background checks and shit and they found nothing. that is what happend honesly its worth watching his opening statement personally because he is for sure a good guy no doubt about it and for ford who fucking knows honesly she may have been sexually assulted in the past or something who knows but she has more hole in her story than swiss cheese.
