It's not, that was only because the video was just now uploaded to RU-vid. This means the higher resolutions weren't finished processing yet, but now they are and you can watch it in 1080p
Problem is, whilst it is more budget friendly. Its not exactly cheap at almost 2k. Chinese high tech labor is becoming more expansive. Lindus sourcing and quality control/processing in Europe and Russia also drives up the price. I guess all quality products come at a price.
Wtf? Why buying at expensive resellers like Lindu? They take so much more money, completely unnecessary. It's like a scam. This monocular with tube costs just 13OO-14OO bucks....
@@aesthetic8780 Those are blemished Gen 2 tubes at that range If you want FOM in the 1800 range with auto gate to make in on par with Photonis tube. You will looking at 1.7 to 2k
Ah mine basically was assembled from a tube I sent them and delivered within a week of ordering; but I'm in the same country as them so that did make things easier and cheaper.
What is the best housing on alibaba right now for a monocular? There are so many Chinese tubes out there. The NNVT have no autogating. Is there a specific combo you recommend?
NNVT now actually sells tubes with autogating. But the utility of autogating in Gen 2+ tubes is basically just increasing highlight resolution. If you're worried about protection mechanisms, the NNVT tubes all have very robust BSP. I've already pushed the BSP on my NNVT tubes quite hard, much harder than I dared to push my gated Omni VIII tube and the NNVTs still survived unscathed. If cash is tight, something like a Daking mono with a NVT4 should do nicely. If you have cash to splash, consider going for NVT5 or 6 if you can find them; those are the XR5 tier tubes that sometimes come with autogating.
your PVS-14 housing seems to be made by Carson Industries and rear glass if Fujinon.. diopter is probably made by Qioptiq, I have factory L3Harris M914A unit and diopter looks different than yours.. objective seems the same but has L3 Communations CAGE code stamp on it .. your is probably Carson 1XEP3
Do you know of any way to get this mono over the right eye. My guess would be to get a mount that rotates it 90 degrees anticlockwise but I can't find one
Depends on which Katod tube. They have everything from 20 SNR Gen 2+ tubes to 32+ SNR Gen 3s. 30-32SNR is the performance of a lot of Omni VIII tubes too.
Have to contact them for pricing and ordering. Pricing varies on case-by-case basis but you should be able to get the housing kit for just under brand new L3 PVS-14 housing kit prices. Here's the link to their site: www.lindunv.com/night-vision/nv5031-monocular-fov-50/
There is a reason why automated IR illuminators aren't a feature in military night visions like PVS-14. Because if it engages in a wrong time you will light up as a christmas tree for your enemy.
Very good point. Good thing they're optional on these units albeit are quite easy to activate by mistake (rotating the knob all the way sets this mode)
I was very tempted to buy from Lindu Optics, but was quite hesitant when they seemed abit lazy in replying to my questions. They offered a gen 2+ intensifier with their housings, so do you think i should go for it? i mean its not cheap, i would hate to get ripped off
The stuff they offer is definitely legit. However, I do think you'll get best value for money if you just get the housing kit from them and install your own tubes.
@@NontacticalboyWhat are you talking? What does the US have to do with you????? What's next? You can't get tubes because John F Kennedy doesn't like spaghetti?
How many 1000$$$ more for Omni 8 tubes vs the ldnv016 ? ...is it 1000$$$ better than the 016 ? Is the 016 running MX10160 tubes and what FOM ? Any detail on the 016 ?
@@hypemilitaria6447 Hey, I just saw your vids and have been into NV for a while. Do you sell tubes or NVGs to Europe or can suggest sources for legit hardware? Best, Andreas
Good question. I'd say the D-M2041 is just slightly sharper, but the LDNV016 has wider field of view. So it depends on whether you want wide field of view or sharp image quality. (The D-M2041 has glass that's sharper than OE PVS-14, but ofc still inferior to the milspec PVS-14s from Carson etc)
