Couldn't have timed this better. You guys have have saved me a lot of time. Please spare a few minutes for my complicated question but before that; Amazing job done by the presenter explaining all the confusing things in layman term's. Was a Subscriber earlier but I tried subscribing again 😇✌ After countless hours of sleepless nights and hours of research with a tight budget, I wanted to have the best setup which suited my needs. Clear Full Range Music(EQ control) with Accurate BASS. Have bought a 840watt's Blaupunkt 4 channel GTA 470 Digital Sound Processor Amplifier , JBL CSX-1400BP 12" Subwoofer, PAC PDLC 21 Active 2 channel LOC, Surge F8 Flo True 8AWG 800W AMP wiring kit which is on its way. I'm hooking the the 2 channels of the Amp to the front speakers and the 2 bridged channels to the Sub. Since I'm having a DSP Amplifier with various settings such as X-over control, Subsonic control, Phase control, Delay control etc. Does the front speaker signals give full range output i.e If I tap into the front speaker signals with the LOC, will I be able to achieve a full range surround sound system in my car with DSP control function working properly? Was thinking about a 4 channel LOC but thought it would be useless since I'm using only 2 front channels of the amplifier for speaker and remaining 2 for a Sub. I can use the PAC PDLC21 with a low output gain settings since it can pump out 10V unlike a passive LOC and Adjust the gain in the Amplifier to adjust the Fader setting to achieve surround sound from a 2 channel LOC. My stock HU is a 4 speaker outs with a stock 6 speaker(2 tweeters+4 mid speakers) setup. I'm planning to change my Stock front speakers too, Any suggestions for the type (and brand) of front speakers which will suit my setup?
@Qualitymobilevideo
@Qualitymobilevideo 7 лет назад
Being that this a factory 4 channel with tweeter, it's likely that you have full range output on all four speakers, we never truly know without testing it. If I were to wager, I think your setup will be fine as described.

I do have a question though. If I'm just using the high level straight from the amplifier itself, do I need to have the remote wire extended all the way to the factory stock stereo? I guess what I'm asking is do high level installation have a trigger for remote turn on so that I won't have to connect it to the head unit (like the LOC here)?

Hey guys thanks for all that information! I still have a question tho... I’m about to install a Kenwood 6 channel amp on my 2017 Honda Accord that has the 4 speaker only factory system, so far so good right... 4 channels from factory HU to the amp then out to 4 speakers... my question is, what channel from the factory stereo/hu should feed the subwoofer since all 4 are taken?? Do I split the signal from the LOC’s RCA output so I can feed the subs input rca on the amp? What do you recommend I should do? If I get a six channel LOC I face the same problem only at the inverse. What type of solution do you recommend? Your help is greatly appreciate it!!! :)

Best LOC video I've found, extremely informative. Only one question remains for me: Is there a limit to the length of wire ran on either side of the LOC? Should the speaker level side be short and very close to the head unit, or should the low level side be short with the LOC closer to the amplifier? Is there a medium, or is it not important? I see how yours are setup and I'll mirror that for now. Thank you very much.

As a Formally Trained Audio Engineer and a guy who cut his teeth doing car stereos I thought that was actually a pretty good breakdown for folks that don't have an electronics background or a lot of inclination to get deep on how all this audio stuff works. I employed one of these adapters in a Bar where the Owner asked if I could run the output of his Jukebox (which only had a Left and Right External Speaker Output) into the speakers He had in the ceiling (or more correctly to the amp that powered those speakers) and it worked beautifully - also it's great because it mirrors the volume of its source relatively speaking. Not sure why this got so many thumbs down - I thought it was fairly spot on. Also for the record this doesn't replace the speakers in the circuit - it sits in parallel with the speakers (a "tap" so to speak) which keep the Ohm load correct to the amp - You'll have much more success than trying to completely use this device by itself without those speakers. - MM in Denver CO

Hi Great video👍 I have a 2017 Honda Civic Rs hatchback 1.5T(Australian model) which is probably equivalent to a touring or sports touring except without navigation.It has a premium factory stereo with 12 speakers including a factory subwoofer and factory amplifier. I have the pioneer gm-d8601 monoblock amp which accepts high level speaker inputs up to 16.5v and therefore don’t need a loc. Installers here in Australia can’t give me a straight answer about installing this amplifier with a aftermarket subwoofer. This is what they tell me: 1)Use the existing factory subwoofer wires straight to the pioneer amp. These wires are coming straight from the factory amplifier and therefore watts going to factory subwoofer is unknown. 2)tap into speaker wires from behind the factory head unit and straight to the pioneer amp for the signal. 3)I can’t get a signal directly from behind the factory head unit because the signal is digital and not analog and therefore I need to get a signal for the pioneer amplifier after the factory amp. Meaning I can’t bypass the factory amplifier. Any help advice would be appreciated. Seems like installers here down under are not that knowledgeable. Cheers mate

Hey guys, I have a 2016 Impala and I have a Axxess MLO720 I have the wires and the LOC install by a local stero installer and I went to adjust the balance and I only have bass on the right side! I took a look and it appears that I have 1 wire positive and negitive from the factory touchscreen unit. It is then spiced for both side on the LOC? Weird Im not sure if there could be on wire or the audio installer was lazy and hooked up one side. Any ideas?

Hooked up a sub and amp to my factory dodge Dakota. Not using a LOC! I just spliced into my rear speakers on the door with speaker wire and converted the ends to RCA plugins. Seems to work fine. The bass hits. But when I turn up the volume quick it cuts out and loses bass. I then have to turn down bass on the radio for the sub bass to kick on again. Why is this happening? Thanks.

I'm still very very confused. I have 2 kenwood 12s and 2 amps. I'll be running about 2500 watts to the subs. Will the converter be able to handle that?

Great video! I have 05' GMC Yukon Denali w/ the premium Bose system and scratching my head as to where I tap the yellow 12v power and blue remote turn on wire from my PAC LP6-2R LOC? Do I run them directly to my aftermarket amp or do i need to tap them into my corresponding factory wires?

Yellow is a direct battery connection, Blue will be the output to your amp remote turn on.

So I'm installing a PAC LP6-2R to my 05' Yukon Denali with premium Bose system. And want to retain my premium Bose system for my factory speakers and sub. All I'm trying to do is add a aftermarket subwoofer and amp. I've got everything connected w/ the PAC LP6-2R LOC, MEMPHIS AUDIO 1000watt amp, and kicker comp R subwoofer but no sound The only reason i can think of it not working is I've only got the left speaker + and - connect to the back of my H/U... Does both channels need to be connected to work ?

Hey man great video . I have a question regarding a install I did myself on my 4Runner . I tried connecting this lp7-2 to my factory subwoofer but I’m guessing the voltage is too high for it to work . I just have it working with my amps built in high to low but the sound quality sucks and it’s very odd beat . Should I connect this behind the lp7-2 behind the stereo or should I just tap into the front kick speakers since those are always playing bass ??

Btw It’s just a subwoofer install to my factory stereo

Your amp using high level input probably had audio signal sense turn on. You will need to double check your owners manual to see if it is possible to have signal sense turn on using RCA inputs, if it doesn’t you need to run a remote turn on wire.
