Dumb question perhaps but how good is this for recording to computer. Say, for an EP. My other option is either a GT1 or GT100.

Thank you so much for this video!!!! The stock presets is exactly what i wanted to hear and no one on youtube had a legit video going through them. Just as i was about to give up my search, your video popped up! Sounds like this will be my first official pedal board. Im a bass player but have always wanted to play Guitar so i bought a Ibanez Guitar and wanted to find a good pedal that won't cost too much. Thanks again.

Showing the Bass presets is what sold me on this Henning! Very hard to find information about the bass modelling here on RU-vid. Line6 should owe you some commission!

Great video. So many presets. So many expressions. Those patch names were crackin' me up. FISH WITH TEETH LOL....and then you tried NOT to play Barracuda...at least not exactly. My cat was wondering what was so funny. I just got this unit. Can't wait to try it as soon as get my mixer.

Many thanks for going thru the factory presets. Since presets are notorious for being not so great, I am impressed that you are getting a great variety of usable tones out of these presets. Of course, not all presets are useful for all types of players. Question: Since many commenters have noted that scooped mids are pretty common among these presets, are you able to dial in tones with more mids, that sound more round and full, once you start building your own presets? I am thinking about classic, full, clean Fender sounds and some of the fuller Vox style sounds.

@@jake-ir1tc I still have it if that’s anything to go by. It’s very simple to use and edit, except for snapshots which I can’t seem to figure out. I mostly use this for recording and can’t find anything to beat it. Really can’t fault it.

I really enjoyed this. Thank you! I'm really interested in picking one of these up now and currently have a Boss Katana 100 combo. What is the best way to go about connecting this to an amp like the Katana? Using the 4 cable method?

yes if you're only using the pods effects for the katana, but if that's the only way you're using it then HX effects might be the way to go

Run it through the effects loop, I believe from the pod go's send & into the amp's return.

If you decide to use it into the Katana efx return, remember to turn off speaker sims

Hello very informative video. If i wanted to use as an example my jc800 amp head instead of the amodler jc800 amp would i be able to obtain the same tones i.e, apples to apples tones or is the complete package to the pod that i have to use amp models together and not isolate effects? I would need this for live setting. Thanks you for your respone

Most of these actually sound pretty damn good! Few bad ones, but overall, I'm pretty impressed! Great diversity of tones, ranges, etc. If you mixed in clips with people's gear with $50000 of pedals, amps, etc., I doubt anyone would be able to tell the Go vs the true rigs...

One thing I have learned about multi effects is that they sound more natural imo through a tube amp. For some reason when people trash multi effects they seem to have pure digital setups in there mind.

@@timjoseph887 Absolutely does. Hence why I prefer ze tube amp approach. Line 6 is stuck scooping mids like no one's business. Most of the presets have little to no mid range from what I can tell.

The podgo presets dont sound all that bad. Unlike the podhd preset, only a handfull are good.

I hated the Podgo.. call me a picky tone snob, it took me too much time to dial in a good tone. Pickup a BOSS IR200 you will not be disappointed with the Amps and IRs .I realize this is an older video as I picked the podgo up when it first came out . I spent a year playing around with different IR sims and I have now found my pedal ..

So the presets are all trash, however, with just a few tweaks you can get amazing tones, especially using the Matchless amp simulation on there. The Hedgehog D9 is also a very versatile overdrive for classic rock!

Can't, company owning the trademarks would file a complaint with YT and the video would either be demonetized, taken down, or would remain up but any $ from adds would go to company who filed a complaint, etc. So yeah, you just can't play the actual song melodies.

i have a boss me70 and a fender mustang III v2. one million sounds and not one is good. these multi fx things are overkilling it. just my opinion.

Tube Amp and few good pedals is all you need. Otherwise you spend all your time tweaking instead of playing.

The weakness of all the Line 6 multi effects: the company presets... Please kick the guy who make those out. Next time please Mr. Pauly make some yourself I am sure we will hear what this can do a lot more than a hundred hours of the Line 6 presets.

Ok, I'll be the a$$. Even though I think the new pedal platforms are cool. Am I the only one that realizes there pretty much the same as 10 years ago? There just in a new package. I mean, there's clean, there's dirt, there's distortion, there's modulation. Otherwise if you can personally play cleanly, all you need is a good 2 channel amp. Ok, enough of me. Thanks for making this video so I can see that a good amp and a boss me80 will do the same. Gear? Ehh, Play good, sound sound.

A unit like this is really good if you can't just have an amp blaring out any time you wanna play. :) Also, the classic sounds are so much older than everything...TV, Internet, cell phones, Line 6 as a company. Lots of classics would have similarities I think because the sonic signatures are baked into all of the songs we know and love.

Same as my Boss ME80. Lots if ok sounds, but it excels at nothing. I'm disappointed that modeling on multi effects seems to have stalled unless you pay a fortune
