i wouldn't normally do these comments, am going through a very bad time, its weird how in this video you remind me how to be passionate about things i once was ,i found my self actually smile and be excited for the first time in a long time in that first game , i was getting so hype along with you , i dont know why it just triggered something good in myself ,i know it isnt that deep but thanks man keep up the great vids
for the bryan v cladio match: jet upper into double knee @7:10, looks like the double knees came out a little too early, this happens when you whiff the second knee iirc but it is also because knee was going for the perfect inputs that will net you b2,1 after the knees), rare executional error from the goat the side step 3212 @11:50 was the immediate reaction that the move was either cladios hop knee or running 2 which JU would have whiffed, f4,1 might have also worked but 3212 is the safe and easy bet there Watching knee is always such a treat but man tanveer is terrifying in his own right
Actually there is an even safer and extremely damaging option on a backturned opponent. You can do 3,3,2 which is all confirmed into a launch for a >90 damage combo. My bnb is 3,3,2 -> f1+2 -> d3+4,2 -> b2,1f -> pretty much any SLS move depending on what oki, wall carry, or damage you want.
Tbh, i really liked it when you immediately reviewed a move or situation, before the next round. Noe it seems you mention several things that your expert eyes notice, but only remember to show us one or two things. I learn alot from your insight! And i don't think im alone.
Damn, so that's what happened with the Zafina rage art situation? What a messed up interaction that is lol, thinking you've won the game but the game is coded to say SIKE
I held myself back from watching the live stream, to wait for the PhiDX cast. I was not disappointed. Love your reactions, enthusiasm and little tips during your analysis!
21:50 Yo Phi, you should tell the audience that if you get comboed while you have Heat, you can recover pretty much all of it back. Heat decreases the amount of "normal" damage you take and that's not that well known. Look at the hp, its all recoverable. Thats important knowledge.
Not gonna lie, Tekken 8 has a few bugs that needs fixing. Some moves which are NC, the second hit still just randomly whiffs for no particular reason. Not due to some obvious axis reasons or anything either.
11:53 Yes knee can get a way better punish by doing 3,3,2 (the double kick followed by a jet upper) but he's still doing that string out of muscle memory lmao (maybe that's how you were supposed to punished back turned opponents in T6?)
People talk about character specialist brainrot, but there's a reason it happens and is so visible. Those characters that are not just pick up and play in their approach, they just require a touch that does something to how you see the game a lot of the time.
What's up with brainrot being thrown around lately? Also, yea chatacter specialist will eventually have a breakthrough because of familiarity among other things
Tekken is a game where almost every character is tournament viable. Some just take more work and effort then others....*cough* Dragonuv *cough* that's the true brainrot
Love the content and commentary. Would have loved some more love and attention to The Jon, he obviously did well since he won but was he lucky or what made him win or made him do well? Mostly talking about Shadow made it seem more like Shadow did bad, than the Jon playing good.
I think King is just too overwhelming to fight, because on top of good counter hits, you have to have sharp reactions against grabs and guess correctly if you get caught in a chain grab
as a Ling player I was pleased at first and then became kind of annoyed seeing Shadow pick her. Like you said, the bag of tricks was thin and tricking the opponent is a massive part of her playbook. Also Shadow using forward facing heatsmash instead of backturn heatsmash bothered me immensely. I thought everyone knows her backturned heatsmash is superior. Nonetheless I did get a few new ideas from Shadow and it's impressive how many characters he knows. But I want to see him win a tournament and his Zafina is just so much better. He was so close to resetting with her afterward. Thanks for your coverage yet again PhiDX. I look forward to your review of Knee vs Shadow, one of the best matches in Tekken 8 yet!!
7:10 Knee missing the jet upper combo was kind of his fault. The qcf3,4 is extremely finniky, and the second hit whiffs if you don't have a good "not too short but not too long" dash. Even after hitting both knees, the next b2,1 in the combo can still be dropped due to the bad dash timing from before. The second hit of qcf3,4 needs a better hitbox as well as the second hit of b2,1. I seriously don't understand why bryan has a multi-command input for a 14f launcher AND an inconsistent bnb. Meanwhile, Paul has a 14f single command input for an easy bnb combo that does more damage.
Anyone else feel like it's more fun to watch Tekken 8 than to deal with the stress of actually playing it? I have to admit that I am at that point right now. 😅
Pakistan, indeed, has Ling players. Irtaza has did well in 2/3 tournaments and Jon also practices against him. The jon has beaten Shadow 4 times in this twt. Beat his claudio in korea, zafina in UAE and beat him twice at TGU
Im a fuijin xiaoyu player and i can clearly tell he doesn't play xiaoyu. U cant pick her up xiaoyu takes skill and especially time. Fyi been playing since 7
The guy you're saying "doesn't play Xiaoyu" has played her in tournaments since Tekken Tag 2... Check out "Summer Jam X Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Losers SemiFinal Knock vs Shadow 20Z"! Already 5 minutes into that video you'll find him gaming with the skank. c:
I don't know what to tell you man, I'm burnt out from the all out aggression and one sided matches, the claudio vs dragunov matches were a breath of fresh air and not lame at all like you said I like more defensive and slow placed Tekken but maybe that's just me
Seeing a king in a top 8 had me yelling like a lil kid, had to give the play by play to my partner, was calling out moves like an 90's dad yelling football plays at the nfl!
Shadow sticking to Ling is not that crazy considering how close game 1 was. In those situations I can understand the confidence he had in the decision.
It’s hard to adapt to Tekken 8 when the character you play isn’t adapted to Tekken 8. What’s Bryan, Steve and Lee doing in this game…what’s their identity? If you want to handicap yourself, play those characters.
So that any touch floats her instead of standing her up. Pro being that she takes minimal damage from anyone thats unprepared, which makes up for her not being able to block and having no real way to get out of the stance safely in most cases. Cons are that people who *are* prepared can float you for a full combo if you ever go into it without +frames, and either way youre in a bad oki situation. Eddy's negativa stance was the same in T7 but they changed it to standing for 8 and its considered a buff
I donno bro. She is legit the only character that i think is busted besides yoshi. Way too easy to use and absolutely broken oki. Get up wrong and youre gettin launched. Stay on the ground youll pobably get launched anyways.
Xiaoyu is a terrible character and is the reason why she rarely show out of pools. It’s easy to turtle and shut her down. Compared to majority of the cast, she isn’t really effective or efficient.
@@JPROP-vb7sv probably an NA Tekken issue. I have JoeCrush and other GoD struggling against me online but I just came back from the Asia servers where blue ranks completely destroy me.
