I remember listening to the cd as a kid a lot. This is some crazy music history that I’m old enough to remember, but it took me until now to see how special of a moment it really was. Unique stuff
Concept of putting Jay Z + Linkin Park's creative minds together was pure lyrical genuis. Two polar opposite styles of music combined created a concert & album that resonated & influenced the hearts of people from all viewpoints & walks of life.
What an idea, throwing Jay-Z on stage with Linkin Park and having him drop some verses right in the middle of their songs. And look at how it turned out. That is some true musical genius right there, hearing two types of music and just splicing them into something awesome like this.
I'm telling you the reason these came out beautifully was because of Mike. He WAS the hiphop of LP so this chance he took no shortcuts he made these a work of art. You don't work with Jay-Z and not make magic.
Figures it would take Jay-Z and Linkin Park to prove just how many light years above the rest they are when it comes to rap metal. When you see greatness, it's hard to ignore it.
I like Faint and Jigga what the most. For it goes: Jigga What/Faint Numb/Encore Dirt off your shoulder/Lying From You 99 problems/Points of authority/One step closer Big pimping/ Papercut In the end/Izzo All of that being my favorite to least favorite
Angels screaming, rappers collaborating, original music, insane guitar riffs, drummer on fire, too much bass to take. Killed everything in it's way. What composition! Linkin Park is magic and Jay Z made it better I guess
Chester is the example of the best of melody and also the perfect scream RIP bro you helped me through alot from the beginning wish I could have helped you and returned the favor
Whether you like it or not, Jay Z has been heavily involved in the rock scene, more than you'd think. From using classic rock samples in his songs, to collaborating with rock bands, and even having a backing band with REAL instruments perform his songs with him. Hell, him and his backing band played the "Back in Black" intro when doing a live performance of "99 Problems." The man has a diverse musical taste. As a massive classic rock fan, Jay has become one of my favorite artists to listen to.
This song is sooo dope. If i could have been at one concert in my life it definitely would have been this one. That crowd was blessed. Long live Jay z and RIP Chester
chester was the best didnt appreciate it until he was gone used to bang to this song in my 20s when days were fuzzy and memory was selective but this is one of my favorites of all time only revisited it lately during tough times in my life
LP is the best band EVER! Chester voice 1 of a kind! Mike is a musical genius, and rest of the band fit In perfectly! Never again will we see a band that can make a different sounding album every time, and kill it, every time! #Makechesterproud #FUCKDEPRESSION
bro ur exactly the same as me.. I was in form 2 when this shit came out... Linkin Park had been my favorite band throughout my childhood and Jay-Z was always the master.. Together it was just amazing.. Last couple days I got the album out and started jamming it again, takes me back a few years and its fucking amazing.. I'm 17 now, to think it was 6years since this shit came out.. 18 next week, :D
LP screened people in their fan club to see which members were also fans of rap and Jay-Z, they invited them to a 'secret' show where they didn't know what was going to happen. So everyone who was there was probably excited.
How awesome is it that the song started with dirt of your shoulder and ended with lying my way from you, without even noticing that the song changed bit by bit..
This one blew me and my friends out of the water back in 2004. Still got the DVD @home. Perfect executed collab. Now with 36 years still pumping it through the Speakers
