Lino Tagliapietra, considered by most as the greatest glassblower in history, is a mentor, motivator, and visionary. Bridging the divide between Italian and American glassblowing, Lino's career has transcended continents and inspired a new generation of glassblowers. Now 89, Lino continues to push the boundaries of the medium, testing the limits to see what both the material and the man can do.

What an incredible legacy. Such beauty and personal drive to create such amazing art. The world you leave behind will be better off because of the knowledge you have shared with your students. Thank you for passing it down to others.

his truest legacy is over forty years of teaching. the greatest creations he left behind are we who have been fortunate to be trained by him. he truly is il primo maestro. the prime master of all masters. Any shop he walked into, we ALL instantly deferred to his orders. not because we had to, but because he is who he is. when he and the solid sculptor pino signoretto were together it was truly magical. usually only one master of that level is alive at any given time. but we had a solid sculptor and a hollow worker of the same high level at the same time. a very unique time to be alive in glass history. like having da vinci painting something right next to a modern bronze casting master. truly special times.

to put it in perspective, my professor took a course from him in the early nineties. 15 years later she started teaching me. eight years later *I* took several courses from him. hes molded three generations of artisans to an extremely high technical standard,. its just bonkers. over SEVENTY years hes worked. just breathtaking to consider

Lino T. is truly a master at his craft! I wonder where he would be now if he had listened to his mother who tried to discourage him. His story is a testament to living your dreams. And he was a cute little boy too.
