Linux just hit 4% market share again! 

Yeah it's crazy. I just switched to linux a couple weeks ago. As soon as I saw the Microsoft recall I thought "Oh nah, this is literal spyware".

I helped contribute to the market share rise. Just switched from Windows 10 to Debian 12. Goodbye Microsoft.

I switched to Linux around 8 months ago after my Windows 10 installation broke. Trying out Linux for fun was the best choice.

Linux user for about 3 years now, i still have some difficulties ever since i switched but overall i have all the best to say about Linux!

I don't think things will change until 10%.

Yesterday I put MX Linux KDE on an i7 rig for a developer who could no longer face Windows+Recall. The day before I did likewise on a guy with a perfectly functional MacBook Air form 2017 no longer supported by Apple and with us trying to avoid Apple Intelligence. I have also put Linux on a number of 7-10 year old laptops where the local really cannot afford the new hardware required for Windows 11. It's not just recall pushing people to Linux, it's the cost of endless hardware upgrades. [BTW, the reasons for KDE here are many but if there is a problem KDE allows me to whatsapp the 'switch to flick' in system settings to fix it. Editing a hidden text file is a non-starter here.]

Ever since i have a taste of Mac Os, I hate the look of Windows. After I ran out of memory and some distro hopping, I decide to stay in Nobara GNOME. I'm glad that I took part in pumping the market share.

The year of Linux in the desktop is like the release of Hollow Knigth: Silksong. (Tomorrow for sure)

I hope that one day i can completely ditch windows on my second machine (literally only used for anticheat incompatible games)

Funny how this happens exactly as I switch. (Dual booting for if I need it though). Loving linux

Linux is rocking right now, the only Windows PC I touch is my work laptop, been on Linux for some time now, and I didn't remember how much Windows Bluetooth stack sucks, no audio codecs and my BT mouse randomly disconnects at 10cm of distance 😂, on Linux I can pair a PS3 controller at same time I have a AptX-LL headset and ducking mouse and keyboard, everything at the same time, with no further issues in (low-latency) BT5.0 mode, no need for third party software or firmware (drivers). The big problem Linux has is the lack of productivity software owned by Microsoft, just if we we're able to run the MacOS builds of their crap Windows will be long gone by 2030, all I would need is PowerBI and a basic edition of Office 2021. Right now, if you are able to learn the keyboard shortcuts of GNOME you can literally install Ubuntu in minutes, have a working system at barely 1.3GB of RAM and you're much more productive, while coding there, I'm in heaven.

Microsoft has harsh system requirements while Linux doesn't my parents are still on WInblows and my whole folks but so far no hiccups with Steam gaming I refuse to upgrade my computer when I just got it a while back it's sad how Linux distros listen more than Microsucks who doesn't care time to ban Windows and TPM 2.0 and start making Linux desktops.

All the microsoft stuff going on at the moment aside, I reckon the SteamDeck may have boosted numbers too considering it runs on Linux.

This is why I will stay away from Windows 11 & beyond

I've switched to Linux Mint from Windows 11 and I didn't disable some Firefox telemetry precisely because I want websites to know that I'm using Linux. Should help for the statistics. Edit: spelling

My only problem is that working with music, I lack most support I need to switch ToT I'd love to though
