Thundercats was/is so good! It had a lot elements, that made it stand out. Even the music score, was good. Silverhawks was crap! It was a poor rip off of, 'Battle of the Planets', which came out in the 1970s. I was shocked, more kids in the 1980s, who were born in the early 1970s, didn't see the similarities.
I will always be thankful for my uncle introducing this show to me when I was a kid. He even brought me the DVD collection when I was 10. Still my favourite show as a 19 year old XD
Your uncle is awesome! 😎😎😎😎Truth be told this show is missing from my dvd shelf , next to the original Transformers and Masters of the Universe and Ulysees 31 and most importantly Battle of The Planets DVDs. 😁😎😎👍🖖
You have to love the fact that since this was an earlier episode of the series, you can see the inexperience of Lion-O but as the series goes on he starts to become a strong character and Leader.
That's what you get when it's a 12 year old in an adult body. A malfunctioning stasis pod had him age, but it couldn't alter or mature his mind. It REALLY sucks to me that the trip cost him his childhood.
Mumm-ra was gonna attack eather way lion-o knew that so he defended himself that don't make him a villain. Lol 😂 I don't really care anymore for all I know lion-o could be the villain I be a horrible lawyer I off to smoke a joint now
Mumm Ra's reflection is of his mummy form, not his muscle-bound monster form. I think maybe he was freaked out to see himself as he really is, an old mummy, instead of his transformation.
@@Zulu-Lemon Personally, I think it would be cooler to know, not just who he was, but how the times were just prior to his metamorphosis. Not sure if I cared about such origins as a kid, though.
There is a prequel comic that shows Mumm-ra 's origin. He was an egyptian priest who tried to kill his pharoah and when his plan was discovered he was imprisoned within a pyramid. He begged to be freed, but the ancient spirits of evil were angered that he misused their power and as punishment he was forced to create stone statues (which would be the same statues in his pyramid) before they would grant him their power
@@Zulu-Lemon a prequel comic was made that showed a snippet of what his life was like. As well as Tashee, Chetara's sixth sense, and even Grune. Its a nice comic.
@@anonimothy5979 You know...the rest of the world might agree with you. And who could blame you? Only me. I'm sorry, but as hot as they both are, I still think of Cheetara as a different woman from Milla. I can't agree with her as a casting choice. They're too different in my head
@@QuartuvLarry If I put up with the girl from Disney's Princess Diaries playing Catwoman, then I'm sure you'd get through it if it was done well. But I understand if you're passionate about this.
@@LifeStyle-oo4yv: Have you *Never* heard the expression; "His Bark's worse than his Bite"? Because unless there's something I'm misinterpreting about that...
Remember in the early episodes Liono was still a kid mentally and barely knew how to fight so I'm sure he was afraid of Mummra and that took him off guard I'm guessing
*Mumm Ra emerges from his sarcophagus and finds mirrors facing his sarcophagus* Mumm Ra: NOOOO! *hides* Boar Evil Spirit: I can't believe he's afraid of his own reflection. Vulture Evil Spirit: Pretty sneaky of Lion-O to place those mirrors around his sarcophagus. Crocodile Evil Spirit: Pretty damn evil too. Bull Evil Spirit: Even we're not that evil.
I watched this episode many a time on a taped vhs. It always filled me with dread even knowing Lion-O would be safe. I guess he just got real lucky. The scene was always badass with the way they broke such thick trees. I don't get that same sense of power or destruction from shows these days. Lasers and rock crumbling didn't convey the force the way this scene did.
Lion-O had to defeat Mumm-Ra as one of his Trials to become the Lord of the Thundercats. He did so by destroying Mumm-Ra's sarcophagus, the source of his power. So yes, it can, and has been done.
I wonder what all the other voice actors thought after Mumm-ra let out that final scream at 2::44 and when he return to his pyramid that was over the top.
@Derrick Williams yeah he is too proud - never listens to Tigra - always thinks he can take MummRa on his own - needs back up from Panthro in the Thundertank
Thundercats often seemed like a cat version of He-Man, you know? What scared me when I watched this show as a kid was when there'd be a commercial break, and the final shot before it would become epic and still. There's a shot of Lion-O that I found on Google that I'm sure is the shot that scared me as a kid. I can handle it now, but it's still a little scary to me.
the complete series on dvd is not complete. There are missing scenes from the pilot episode and the background battle music from this scene is not on the dvd
"Hey, can I get an upgrade on this sword?" "What did you have in mind?" "I don't want to have to say thunder 4x. Sometimes Im in a really tight spot and it would help me out if I could just say Thundercats Ho instead of Thunder...Thunder...Thunder...Thundercats...hoooooo!" "Makes sense. Leave it here and Ill text you when it's ready." "Ok, so do you have an estimate on how long it might take?" "He-man also wanted an upgrade and he was here before you. Plus he needed to have his boots with the fur cleaned. I'm going to guestimate that it will be about a week and a half." "Sounds good."
