I noticed getting more sleep and trying to mitigate stress didn’t help. I read about Lion's mane and tried it. It didn’t take long, I started noticing a difference. Much less brain fog and much easier to remember things. My family noticed and said I stopped repeating myself; so I know it isn’t just wishful thinking on my part. I'm surprised that you are finding that people are only eating buttons and wonder if they know what to do with the other kinds. I guess a lot of people just stick with what they're familiar with. Have you tried selling to Asian grocers? Various Asian cuisines use mushrooms much more than the typical American fare, and they use a greater variety than American cuisine too. Also, you'll tend to find more of a market for multiple varieties of mushrooms in vegen cuisines than other types too. Cater to those markets too, and I bet you'll find a niche.

First found out about lions mane mushrooms when I got into growing my own mushrooms at home. Ever since I've wanted to grow my own lion's mane for the memory benefits. I also just really enjoy the entire process of mushroom cultivation. Something about a single batch of grain spawn coming from a few spores, being able to birth that into literally hundreds of other jars, it's just magical. So different from cultivating plants because fungus will just consume and fill whatever food you give it. It always feels like I'm watching a hivemind at work. That only further adds to the wonder when they drop their spores. Because each and every one of those individual spores could birth another colony of the same size. Really makes you understand how unflinchingly efficient they are.

@@someguy2135 to be honest I've never used a starter kit for growing mushrooms. Always started with spore syringes. Lions mane grow in sawdust so you can just use a bag of sawdust with small holes in them. Just did some reading and looks like lions mane can be started by inoculating jars of grain spawn just like most mushrooms. So you would just let the mycelium fully colonize the jar before birthing it to new jars or birthing it into a sawdust substrate. Honestly upon doing some reading these are gonna be easier than I thought. Always figured mushrooms that grow on wood would be more difficult but these work pretty much the same. Only big difference is the mycelium is apparently much thinner than most mushrooms so it's harder to tell when the grain is actually colonized. I'm excited I wanna go buy a spore syringe and get get started now!

The first two to three weeks I didn’t notice much until I started my new job which is in an office with computers doing tech support. The last similar job I lost it due to my ADD. Regardless of my medications, I still encountered the usual symptoms of confusion and disorientation. I’ve been taking two medications, the second one I had just started (after job loss ) and maybe a week later is when I started taking the lions mane. When I started the new job I was just more than halfway finished with the capsules so let’s analyze this: Previous job- Because of my symptoms I had a hard time learning the new program. Despite reading the procedures every day that I was there, I felt lost often as well as drowsy. Current job- This one also has the same system as the previous one so I dreaded and feared having to go through the same thing again. But something weird happened. While I started training I recognized almost everything that I had seen from the previous job, including the program, what each process does and other aspects. I’ve NEVER experienced anything like this in my life . The first two weeks in the new job I felt very competent, something I rarely feel. I kept thinking that it was just the two meds kicking in but unfortunately, as I was ending my second week I ran out of the Lion’s Mane. I proceeded with my life towards the third week and the end of the third week which is when I’m writing this. Gradually through the week, my mind started to feel foggy again to which today I made a small blunder to a customer’s account. I’m still training so I let my senior coworker know so he could revise what I did thus correcting it in the end. After I noticed this I almost allowed myself to fall in despair because I don’t want to go through this like last time again. Conclusively I came back to the seller to order it, but I see that the shipping speed is too slow and I won’t get the product until May. I canceled the order and went with another seller with the same type of product which will hopefully arrive today. I can’t risk waiting for this seller to finally send it over a week later. In a nutshell it’s a pity that the benefits of Lion’s Mane are only present with continuing doses. According to scientists, Lion’s Mane has been observed to aid in growing new neurons. But once you stop taking it, does it mean that those neurons it helped grow die off???

I'm not sure if anyone will see this comment, but I'm still here to make a review of taking lions mane supplements after about 4 weeks. The review is completely subjective, since the only reference point is myself. So far I did not see any improvements in memory, creativity, speed of thinking and so on... it did help with my anxiety and depressive episodes though. When I suffer from anxious episodes I get overwehelmed by all the thoughts and fears which leads me to feeling depressed for 1-2 weeks. I did get such an episode last weekend. While it was still really uncomfortable to go through, it was definitely easier for myself to structure my thoughts and process them. I was able to make connections between my anxieties and their causes... understanding that there is nothing to be afraid of. While this might be me maturing and learning from other episodes, I never saw such an improvement during just one episode before... which leads me to think that the supplements have something to do with it. Btw this episode only lasted 3 days which I am so thankful for. I am using a supplement which was used in a scientific study on eating disorders and lions mane mushrooms... rn I'm a little too lazy to look the link for the supplement and study up, but if you're interested, just tell me!

We took him to a speech therapist to get him treated. After a few seasons with the therapist, by complete chance the accident my son was involved in come up in conversation. The therapist then said that this isn't a speech issue, it's PTSD and speech therapy won't help. I heard about lions mane before and the affect on the brain it can have so i ordered 30 lions mane tablets. One month later my son had no stutter and no tics anymore. I see the standard american diet as extremely unhealthy and severely lacking in nutrients and overloaded with garbage nutrients feeding a large portion of peoples diets. It's no wonder that 2/3 of Adult Americans are obese, which obesity is the most dangerous for overall health. When people really start to load on pounds around the waist it is because they are unhappy and also only care about taste and don't want to study up on health and be in charge of their health instead of leaving that up to a doctor to tell you when you are fat, old and sick, which pill to take to mask the symptom so you can continue ignoring really taking your own health under your control. Just because a food or drink is sold at a store or restaurant doesn't mean it is in any way healthy for you or you won't regret it sooner of later. A healthy person can get away with it once in awhile, however not if it becomes their standard lifestyle, because just because your taste buds love it in your mouth, doesn't mean the rest of your body isn't suffering from what it does to your body when you eat or drink it. One of the most important things in life is to Feel Good now in your thoughts, emotions, vibrational balance and in the stories that you tell. Your thoughts are helping you when they feel good and hurting you now when they feel bad. So clean up your thoughts so they feel good and help you instead of feeling bad and hurting you.

I also recommend giving this mushroom to older people with dementia or other brain issues. It has been shown to help with that. Preventional use is best though.

My wife is currently stable having survived two resections because of glioblastoma multiform. Her eye sight and memory have taken a serious hit and, being that she’s stable, I’m going to have to do some research to see if we can leverage this one. So long as a possible side effect isn’t kick starting the cancer- any improvement could be a huge win!

Perhaps the nerve system in the past was a form of Fungi that was able to spread out and branch and carry messages that inhabited other groups of cells as a sort of symbiosis.

Lions mane is a excellent product, i've been taking it for a couple years. Before i started taking it i had next to no feeling in my toes and now i have full feeling in my toes. It also minimises hot flashes. There is also a slight increase in internal energy. Totally great product.

Mushrooms are so good for the body, if you could just get past that visual of what mushrooms look like, don’t let the fungi fool you. Sometimes the main foods we don’t want to eat are the main foods we need to eat, like fungi.

I loved foraging/hunting for bears Comb mushrooms in Alaska! Bears comb/lions mane was allways plentiful near a glacier I lived by and I used to find huge amounts! My breakfast lunch n dinner for 3 months out of the year would always have handfuls of bears comb/lions mane. It got to the point I could smell bears comb/ lions mane 20 yards from my position in the woods and start frantically searching the birch and alder and spruce trees until I found em! Some summers I’d eat at least 50 pounds worth! I ate them raw or sautéed great especially with eggs and another mushroom called shaggy manes! When I had that combo I felt like a king! But I always had to find the bears comb/ lions mane first bc they had a longer preserving time opposed to the shaggy mane that starts to get inky black in a matter of a half hour after separating them from the mycelium… only problem is brown bears loved those mushrooms just as much as I did and would have close encounters with them all the time foraging for those shrooms deep in the woods. Some of the funniest times of my life!

I wonder what the longterm effects of consumption are. Like, habitual chapstick use actually prompts your lips to produce LESS moisture on its own (catch 22). A similar example of use prompting decline of natural proclivities is a friend took CBD for insomnia for years. When she decided to stop, she noticed just how much her routine had come to depend on the drug. Sleep was once again incredibly difficult, but it's impossible to know in this anecdote if her insomnia was worse than it was before using cbd.

To folks asking, yes, these properties are mainly specific to the Hericium genus which Lion's Mane belongs to. There are a few other species that do have similar effect on neural health but those are even harder to find as they are cultivated exclusively in China and SE Asia.

Been growing my own lion's mane in my apartment for about 2 years now. It's easy to do, and when you get better at it, your yield becomes more. Love lion's mane "steaks". And you can put it in any health drink if you dehydrate them, grind them up, and mix in
