Noel Edmonds and his team have sprung many a Gotcha on unsuspecting celebrities, but the one involving Lionel Blair was a classic. Not only was it perfectly executed but it also showed what a true professional Blair is under some very trying circumstances with Vicki Michelle & Les Dennis in on the prank.
Here is a chance to enjoy that Gotcha again. It starts with the end of the Jon Pertwee Gotcha, who reacted with quaint bemusement at being given a trophy; he had obviously never heard of the Gotchas and had no idea what it was, and seemed to have only a vague idea of who Noel Edmonds was. It took him several seconds after the "reveal" to realise that he had even been the subject of any sort of practical joke.
Noel's House Party was a BBC light entertainment series that was hosted by Noel Edmonds. Set in a large house in the fictional village of Crinkley Bottom, leading to much innuendo, it was broadcast live on Saturday evenings in the 1990s on BBC One.
