Nice wind up. I met Rick in a quiet little bar in Spain just round the corner from where he lived. Not a fancy place, just nice, reasonably priced food and drink. I summoned the nerve to speak to him and he was just fantastic and didn't ruin my life long love of him and the band. I treasure the photo that he was kind enough to have taken with me. RIP Rick.
@@CB-xr1eg I can never remember the name of the bar. It's owned by a nice blonde English lady and her Italian husband in a place called San Pedro. We always go there when we are staying in San Pedro. Right at the end of the sea front, just one other bar beyond it. Rick was with a blonde lady, presumably his wife and children.
Truly glad that happened for you. I'm a 57 year old yank who has only been acquainted with the Quo (other than Pictures of Matchstick Men) for the last couple months. It kills me that I've lived my whole life and had absolutely no clue. Sadly, my chance of ever hoping to see The Quo is no longer. What is it the Brits say? I'm well chuffed for ya, mate 😎
Rick had character, charisma and a very warm, human kind of guy. I had met Francis a couple of times in the late 60's, but only met Rick at a 'Meet and Greet' at a Christmas Gig in Brighton in December 2006. Rick doesn't disappoint and was as warm and charming as I thought he was. Francis and Bob Young have said for years that they 'Gave' Songs to both Rick and Nuff . Firstly, in my ignorance, why would you do this and potentially lose Royalties ? Ricks Songs were often quite different to a lot of R/Y Composition's. Are we, as loyal Quo fan's allowed to know WHAT Song's were given away Francis?
