Wow, the best and complete video of the entire milk car line.....mine must be the one with the lazy milkman because he always drops the ball ....that last 2002 milk car was pretty realistic and quiet......what a huge improvement.....,would love to see that new set up that loads and unloads....super video ......thanks
The K-line is smoother alright, but the man appears to be 'chasing' the cans out instead of unloading them as does the Post War Lionel. I have also noticed one of my 3472's being sluggish; thought it was just my bad luck! My other two work well & may be older 3462's with a newer 72 shell. Anyway, they're fun to operate and fine tune. wyomingscout
Adding more power will result in the milk cans being thrown out with more force - which would help in the case of the 3472's operation in the video. The challenge is to find the right voltage where the cans remain vertical. I didn't have it when I shot that video......
Smoother and quieter! Yes, the K-line man doesn't make the same contact with the milk can can that the Lionel milkman does. As for sluggish operation, you may want to remove the 3472 body, disassemble and clean/lubricate the linkages and components - this should reduce friction and lower the voltage level needed to operate the accessory. You may also need to clean the contact points on the UCS controller.
My 3472 (which I just got for Xmas) runs perfect. I think your barrel flap is not sliding the barrels into the guys arms all the way. Try oiling that joint.
The cattle & milk platforms can share the same track but not directly across from each other. Each platform spans the width of the track . The horse corral platform may be able to use the same operating track as the milk car. The challenge will be positioning the horse corral platform so it is close enough to the track to operate correctly, as the horse corral does not span across the track width.
