As for the pocket clip, I like it. The beauty of this knife helped to make me over - look the choil inadequacy and that small bulge at the edge beginning. I have the green micarta. The mod you made is a good idea even if modifying a GOAT, makes in non-factory. Mine is M390 steel. But this is 14 months later. AF
dude! welcome back. I see you've returned in style too. I really like my Lanny, I could swear Mah was calling this one Westinghouse Micarta when I bought it, not positive. I've got a GSD in Carbon Fiber, it's nice but the Lanny is an all around better knife imo
yeah man I really like the looks of that knife. I also agree about the name... The plunge grind at the heel is what is preventing me from buying one. I also wish it didn't have the Ti clip filler on the presentation side.
Luc Albert I agree it would look better without the filler tab but it doesn’t bother me. And the edge issue I’m used to fixing myself so but it does irritate me highly. Take those away there would probably be none In stock anywhere.
@@semperfipt It's a flipper style half forward finger choil. Liong has done that on several of his models like the Warrior for added grip uses and left that portion unsharpened. It allows a bit of choking up, but not necessarily meant to be a full on choil since not everyone likes them and he knows that, but he does. I've seen this on some other knives that have this type of smaller forward choil to compensate for the edge.
@@spanishnavaja it’s a flaw. It’s a big sharping choil. You don’t make half a finger choil. You either have a sharpening choil like a sebenza or a finger choil for your finger. Not a half flipper finger choil. It’s there so you can sharpen the whole edge and the company that oem the knife didn’t sharpen it correctly.
Great looking knife, reate make excellent quality, really like liong mah as a human & his designs, but what a crappy name he used simply to capitalise on the modern traditional theme. In fact, I'd argue a CS Recon 1 clip point is closer to an actual traditional style knife than this is! Lol Come on mr mah, love your designs but you could've done better with the name or made it more traditional like what Pena does. This 'lanny' naming just puts a lot of real traditional people off & comes off as gimmicky imo. Again, love the knife otherwise... thnx for the vid!
