Lipsey's Chad Bell and Jason Cloessner talk classic rifles featuring the limited run Lipsey's Exclusive Ruger K77RSI International. You can read more here at lipseysguns.com
The short runs only benefit Lipsey's and Ruger. By the time most of us hear about a Firearm we might want, they are Long Gone! Please make them more of a standard shelf item. Or Special order item. Best Wishes from Montana!
Ruger is always in the top 5 for long range hunting rifles. I’d like to see a mid to big bore (308+) full body walnut stock on a 24-28” barrel for long range precision.
I was just gonna say .257 Roberts... and then they did. I'd also like it in 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser. A sweet round that won't overwhelm a light weight rifle.
A HIGHER number so we get a better chance of getting one. Be creative, I'd LOVE to see a NEW Short Action .358 caliber rifle with 20" barrel in the SS International FL Walnut stock. Come on Lipseys. Tell Ruger and Hornady to really impress us with this one.
I have an older M77 RSI in .30-06, just bought one in 6.5 Creedmoor. Calibers I'd like to see in an RSI would be both a .338 Federal and a .358 Winchester. Consider making new RSIs in a .30-06 action length.
358 win one of my favorite calibers. good for anything in north america. i have a browning blr in it and also a thompson encore custom mgm barrel in 358 also its 26inch barrel so it gets the bullet hauling ass with my hand loads. also have a marlin xs7 in 358 also that is my hunting gun
Please make a Ruger International 10/22 in a take down, black plastic stock with stainless receiver and barrel. You will have another home run on your hands. - Michigan
I've loved this "international" look since encountering the Mannlicher-Schoenauer rifles in 6.5 many years ago. Those had the set triggers and butterknife handles, as well.
I already have the 280 ai in this special run. Really cool. I'm glad the ruger is the brand that u chosen. Why not the 375 and 416 ruger. I would love to have one of those I the safaris model like my 280 ai. Thanks guys
I've hunted with various calibre rifles for red deer both as a professional meat hunter and government culler here in NZ. From .303 British, 3030, .222,.243,6.5x55, .308,3006, 2506, 7mm08 and after much trial and error in the field over 45years settled on the .257R. My reasons are simply low recoil allowing better target acquisition for subsequent shots, flat trajectory out to 300yds and very good terminal ballistics with 120gn nosler partition projectiles. I've owned a couple mk77 rugers but never a No1 or RSI. I believe the .257R would be the perfect chambering for either of these rifles used for any deer with the heavier projectiles.
The 9.3x62 is a grand old German cartage that is still very popular in Europe and some parts of Africa, for large game. It also seems to work very well in the short barrel full stock rifles. Historically and functionally this is a superb cartridge for this style rifle. The full length stock is a carryover from muskets and flintlock days. One would have to hold the gun high on the barrel to reload so a full length stock was necessary for a good grip. The full length stock was also considered essential to protect the barrel, when good barrels were few and far between.
Rerun of the Interarms Viscount of the late 70's. Excellent rifles. Well balanced, controlled feed Mauser action, and accurate. Less than $175 at the time.
Just beautiful. Sweat and classic. What about a K77RSI Scout-gun, 5-round drop magazine, 7mm-08 or 260Rem...? Would be easily carried all day, ideal walk & stalk hunting all purpose beauty.
I love these little rifles!!! Now if you could I’d love to see you make a run of these with 18” - 24” barrels along with Rugers new muzzle brake system, I use these rifles in thick brush and timber for big game. And the muzzle brake really does help for faster follow up shots on both wounded hogs and other critters, Also I’d love to see you make it in .338 win mag. With this combination I’d take it out as my regular hunting rifle and retire my old custom Mauser.
@ 100 yds I shoot golf balls all day long.fantastick weapon, the didn't make a stainless when I got mine 😢 need to check if they ever did with the .270 😮
Had one in .308 because that's all they were making and I couldn't get one in .300 Savage. It wouldn't hit a house at 20yds and kicked like an army mule. I tried various factory loads and just got sore for it. Decent enough sights but I just couldn't make it hit the target, even though I'm an experienced open sights shooter. Beautifully put together, though.
Same rifle .308 M77RSI in stainless but use a wood tone "laminate" walnut stock. The laminate stock will help with stability that full length stocks have issues with. To get really fancy you could leave the receiver in stainless tone with the stainless barrel and sights in black oxide. Maybe do like Steyr and leave the hammer forging swirls on it. I'll buy the 1st one, I've been thinking about this build since the 1980s. The ultimate all weather full stock rifle.
Love the 18.5" International M77, but I wish the #1 International had a couple inches more on the barrel. with that falling block receiver the rifle just doesn't balance well or look right being so short. Just put an International stock on the Light Sporter since it's already 22" guys.
An 18 1/2 inch barrel seems kinda short for a rifle caliber. You might be wasting gun powder. How 'bout a pistol caliber? Or maybe stretch it out to 20 inches.
