I never found a red lipstick that didn't pull hot pink on me until velvet ribbon. It's the best lipstick I've ever had! I love it

Ooh, that's such a strong statement. I LOVE Velvet Ribbon, and it's always my go-to red shade. I have to remind myself to use the other reds in my collection because I could easily wear only ribbon for the rest of my life and be 100% happy.

Palazzo is my absolute fave summer lippie, but if she made Velvet Ribbon in the Luxuriously Lucent formula, it would be the best red lip of all time. I am crossing my fingers so hard for that to happen.

I love how passionate you are about makeup in general and lipstick in particular. I love Lisa’s lipsticks as my lips seem more sensitive to dryer formulas as I get older, and her lipsticks are so comfortable (while still giving a great colour payoff). Velvet Ribbon and Velvet Cinnabar look especially lovely on you! 😊

I looove Lisa’s make up, definitely my favorite brand. But my all time favorite red lipstick is Christiano by Tom Ford, one of the old Boys lipsticks in the mini bullet. Not only is it an amazing, bright long lasting orangey red, the small size of the bullet also makes it super easy to apply and create sharp edges in complicated corners of the mouth.

Ooh, I never picked up any of the boy lipsticks. Are they still making them? I love finding my perfect red, and then falling in love every time I put it on. For me, that's Velvet Ribbon from LE. My fave red lipstick is Velvet Jazz and coming in second is Chanel's Passionate red. Jazz is more of a brick red on me and it enhances gold and deep brown of my eyes. It reads more neutral red than dark red.Velvet Cinnabar is the deeper rusty red on me and I like to wear it with warm colored tops and jacket.

I've been waiting for this video! I need a red and was on the fence between Palazzo and Velvet Ribbon. After watching this video, I think I'm going to get Velvet Ribbon. The last LE lipstick I bought was Velvet Rain. I've been wearing the heck out of it this spring. It looks like a muted pinky-coral on me. Love it!

I love your look today with the blouse in black and white, the eyeliner and minimal eyeshadow compaired with all those beautiful reds. ❤. If I watch one of these videos from you about red lip products, I always feel the need to wear a red lipstick. ( I have atomic cherry, velvet jazz and velveteen liquid lipstick in Rain from LE) I also wear the lightest shade in LE skin tint, and have also dark hair. Velvet Jazz is more of a vampy shade on me, because of my pale skintone I have some Mac reds in a satin formula one dark oxblood color and one true blue base red. And than I have the sephora liquid lip in nr01 also a red. That one I wear most of the time when i want to pull out a red,because I love that it is non transfer. Those are older than my LE. I probably have to replace those but the mac are discontinued the sephora is probably still around. Still have to found the perfect red for me... I have a cool pinky undertone on fair skin, blue green eyes dark hair and some really soft freggels on my nose and cheeks. I feel like blond girls with warm undertone rocking reds so well, dark hair girls with brown eyes also, and ginger girls with a orangy red are so stunning. I feel sometimes red is making me older than I am. Or can be to much. Many have to found the perfect one for me. Maby Enchantment...

I feel like there's a red for everyone. Some will pull warmer, some will be cooler, and some will be a sheer hint of color. Red lipstick doesn't have to be full pigment and matte. I also love cocktailing shades together to get a perfect lip combo. Jazz and Duchess are ones that I don't apply fully opaque on days when I'm wearing them in the real world. It's too dark, and makes me look older and harsh. I prefer a fully opaque brighter red or a sheer/blotted application of the darker shades. It can be too much for me sometimes too. I have so many lipsticks that are probably past their prime. Some I keep for shade reference, and others I keep because they still smell and feel like they did when I first purchased them. Once they smell like a crayon or the formula texture changes, that's when I toss them. (unless I'm keeping them for reference) It's been a while since I've had a MAC red that I love. I'm just not that into the MAC experience.

For me, you are THE authority on red lipstick! I’ve said before that Bloom is the one that makes my heart sing, but Duchess is my favorite winter red (it’s predecessor was Jazz) and Ribbon is of course perfect for anything. I need to give Palazzo another try, I didn’t love it as much as I expected to. Thanks for all the swatches, it really does show all those subtle differences between the shades!

Lisa's Skyscraper Rose is my favorite lipstick of all time. I have so many multiples because it was out of stock for a while. With so many lipsticks I have found that a pinkish red is the best for me.

Wearing Velvet Jazz today! Love Palazzo, Cinnabar, Duchess and Enchantment! Strawberry Shock is definitely a summer shade for me and it's almost too bright. I ended up not keeping the Ribbon gloss because it just pulls too bright on me. I have that pale olive skin and it just looked odd on me.

I don't have the Ribbon gloss. I'm worried that such a bright shade would end up outside my vermillion border. I love it in both the liquid and bullet versions. (and the lip liner!) I need to reach for Jazz and Cinnabar more. I tend to reach for the other reds, and leave the darker warmer ones for fall. I should wear them all year long because they're lovely. Oh my GAWD I was so excited when this popped in on my feed! YAsss! Love all the reds and they look so good on you and you can pull them off wonderfully. I am pale like you, with super cool undertone and the reds that are warm...I always have high hopes but they pull too warm/orange/yellow on me. I would scare people, they'd say oh yeah, she's ill. Ithink the Enchantment may be a good color to try. A fav lip color is smoky pinky brown, which is so many lipsticks. My super hero, its an eye shadow topper, whether I am full on eye shadow look or just a smidge, a sparkly topper ( like pat mcgraths or wayne goss) on my eyelids makes me feel invincible, put together no matter how much or how little I am made up. Fav red is LE Velvet Jazz...decadent, fun and delightful all at the same time.... 😉 Thank you for doing this, it made my morning! I wonder what colors she will come out with next?

I feel like my neutral undertone makes it super easy to wear nearly any shade. I LOVE a sparkly eye topper. I like the ones from WG and PMG, but I'm frequently pulling out a sheer layer of a LE liquid lurex in a light shade. Bianca, Cressida or Emily. They are stupid easy to apply and stay put all day with not sparkle fall out. Thanks for making the time to watch today. I'm doing nudes next!

I am on your team, red lipstick makes me feel badass instantaneously. And Ribbon is not just my favourite red, it is my favourite lipstick. Enchantment looks so much deeper and more red on you than it does on me. I am slightly deeper in tone, not much shade 5 in LE, but apparently enough to make a difference.

I like that Lisa has such an artists/painters eye for color. Her colors are nuanced enough to work on multiple skin tones and under tones. That's why I have so many from her brand. I finally decided to get the new Mario neutral nudes pallet… I freaking love it!!!! The shades are perfection on me! Just slap a super shock on top and it’s even better 🤣 I got some sun on my back on accident and that bronzer from Pat McGrath Nude Honey and the Smashbox lightest pink pallet is the exact shade of my tan it’s crazy LOL!!!

I have been eyeing the cool nude palette from MbM, but I think I'm going to hold off. I have so much new eyeshadow right now. (BP quad, YSL quad, Viseart, Sigma, and new singles from multiple brands) I know if I got the cool MbM palette I'd enjoy it, but it would get lost in my collection. I don't want that to happen.

I always admired people who can rock the red lip. I just don't have the confidence. I'm currently searching for one that would not make me feel self-conscious. I had velvet morning but I gave it to my niece , as every time I wore it I felt like people were staring at me 😂. I'm considering the Palazzo, as I prefer this formula. Does anyone have a good recommendation for non matte, comfortable and not too bold red? It doesn't have to be one of Lisa's xx P.S. I fell in love with red lipstick watching old Hollywood movies from the 30s and 40s. It was always the benchmark of ultimate glamour in my eyes. I started wearing pale peach lipstick because my mom thought that red was too "adult" for a 14 year old. It wasn't until I was in college that I purchased my first red, and I haven't looked back. I love many other lipstick shades, but red always makes me feel strong and powerful. If you're looking for a red that will work, try a sheer formula. Think about a gloss or lip oil that has a sheer tint. There are also lots of sheer formula lipsticks that aren't as pigmented as these mattes and Insanely saturated shades. A red leaning lip balm is a great way to start, and don't pay too much for it. Start at the drugstore, and try something that's just barely red. If you don't like the color or formula, return it and try something else. BTW, Palazzo is one that can be lightly tapped on or applied with multiple layers for more pigment. It looks lovely both ways.

The Denessa Myricks Love is Love Palette is small. Maybe I should have expected that. The multi chromes is absolutely stunning. They are the size of the tip of my finger. The bigger shades are super shifty. The mattes are very nice. I have already used it. I don't regret my purchase at all. Is it worth the price? I wish I had waited for a 20% off sale. I was eyeing the DM Love is Love palette, but decided that I wouldn't get that much use out of it. I know the shades are going to be amazing, but I'm not much of a rainbow eyeshadow person. I'm sure mixing them together would create amazing shades and shimmer, but . . . I'm glad that you like it, but i will likely pass. I loved the Ruby Woo shade, but the I never got along with the retro matte formula. Even 20 years ago when my lips weren't this finicky.

Dragon is more of a terracotta while enchantment is more muted red with earthy tones. I have a short on my YT sharing swatches from my LE red collection that includes both shades. It's from a few years ago, but you'd be able to see them swatched closer together.

Start with a "near red" or a sheer version. I have several lipsticks that aren't officially a red but they give the appearance of red on the lips. I'd start there. Something that is bolder than you'd normally go for. If it's the pigment that worries you, try a sheer version of a red. There are so many lovely ways to wear one. Balms, gloss, tint . . . I'd also make sure you're picking the right shade of red for yourself. Think about your undertones, are you warm or cool. If you're neutral, you can wear whatever shade you want. I hope that helps.

I use a variety of liners with it. I'm not one to perfectly match liner to lipstick. Since Palazzo is slightly warm, I just reach for a warm leaning red in my collection. I have the CT Lip Cheat in Kiss n Tell, I have a warm red from NYX and Moira that I use with it. I frequently just wear Palazzo on it's own. BTW, I love questions like this. I just hope that I could be more helpful.

My neutral undertone let me wear a variety of shades. I feel like I can wear both warm and cool tones, and it's rare that a lipstick doesn't work for me. I can make almost anything work, but it comes down to my personal preference. I didn't plant any Dahlias this year, but my peonies are in full bloom. They're so lovely!

Thank you for this great video! I would like to buy more LE lipsticks, I am considering going to her stores in London to try them (I don't live far :)) . Velvet Enchantment, Velvet Ribbon and Palazzo are ones that I have my eyes on! I already have 4 Velvets and 1 Luxuriously lucent. Velvet Bloom is the one that gets me the most compliments!

@thelipstickgal it's great to live near one of her stores but also too tempting 💸 haha ! I will have a hard time choosing between these three next time ! What I love is that the makeup artists there are so good : very helpful and they matched me perfectly !

If I'm ever in London, I'm stopping at either Selfridges or Liberty. Who knows, maybe Lisa will create her own boutique instead of just having a pop up. I wanted to go to the pop up so bad when it was open last year. I don't see myself getting to Europe any time soon. Just know how lucky you are to have that brand available at your local store with such knowledgeable artists.

@@thelipstickgalI went to the pop up in Covent Garden in 2021 and 2022, the shop was very pretty ! She had some of her vintage makeup products displayed which was so interesting! I hope she will have her own shop again :)
