There were definitely inconsistencies in tone. For a character with no dialogue, Cole Sprouse did a great job and managed to be quite funny.

Happy to know you guys like Liza Soberano in the film! She's a big star here in the Philippines and is trying her luck in Hollywood. I hope she gets more roles in the future!

She was great in here! I kind of wish she had more to do, but her acting was great. Especially the scene where that guy is murdered in front of her and shes like in shock having a dissociated freak out loll

My friend and I watched an early screening and both agreed that it should have gone all in with the macabre tone. It was surprisingly violent for PG-13 but it could have been even more fun if it was Rated R. I also agreed on the stepsister and Carla Gugino being the best parts. I still had fun with it. Great review as always.

I am in my thirties and I really liked this movie. It's not perfect, but I had fun and I was surprised even though I knew exactly where it was going. Just the small bits, I guess. 😂 Also, when I was in elementary school people painted their nails with white out.

I actually went into it quite hesitantly, as my teen daughter and I stepped in the theater with no plans of what to watch, but I found the unspoken or unexplored threads and the awkwardness of that work in a very interesting way coupled with some of the greatest music of the 80s, so I came away wanting more and I don’t know why, but I really enjoyed it, because of the unexplored depths of the characters’ dark sides. It definitely gives me film noir parody with tangible dark potentials but left unexplored with a purpose to let the viewers mind wonder.

In terms of teens and dark comedy, I always think of Heathers as the best. In terms of Frankenstein iterations, Weird Science.

Had a good time with this in spite of the fact there were SO many things that could've made it better. You guys pretty much nailed the shortcomings. Also I'm not too sure Cole Sprouse quite has the physical comedy chops for that part. Everyone else was really good though! Inoffensisve, good for a few laughs/cute moments, gonna forget about it in 2 days. Thanks for the review as always 🤍

The dismembered penis part. LOL! Nick your open and frank conversations and remarks about these movies cracks me up. I still recall from last week when I watched the review for "The Seeding." You said "that penis was sus" in that review. That caught me off guard and made me laugh so hard.

Cons: It felt like things happened too fast. I really was expecting the plotline about the killer who axed her mom to be brought up again, but nothing. I also really don't understand much about Lisa's character. How is she so okay about k!ll!ng people considering her past trauma? Same with her relationship with her father. Pros: I love Laffy. Her scenes were great! The whole theatre was laughing with THAT scene when Lisa caught Laffy sleeping with the guy. Her screaming is hilarious as well🤣 The costumes were also great and unique. I loved them so much that I can't resist but want to draw them as an artist! I also really loved Lisa's hair that gives her a distinct look. It's camp so I guess I'll give it some pass. Overall, it's fun!

I like to come to this channel after going to the movies..you both articulate similar thoughts I have as well. The movie could’ve done more honestly. A lot of plot holes & room for improvement. What you said about the lightening bolt, OMG I literally thought that in one of the final scenes 😂😂😂 was expecting more. Wouldn’t go back to see it again like I did Bottoms(4x) or Poor Things(4x)

This movie was genius! Done by some kids back in the 90’s that later became this masterpiece. As one of the kids who helped on the original production (I played the creature and taffy at various times, did you catch the Bring It On Reference, cuz we did that film too. I was the real life Missy who nailed that audition despite the tattoo. ;) Also this movie isn’t meant to be “cute.” It discussss some real life tragic stuff that was going on at the time I REAL LIFE! These kids were human tested on and disappearing across a whole city. So there’s numerous references to this and the ways kids tried to put it in their songs and movies from the portland arts community to ideally bring awareness to what they were suffering. Albeit it’s centered around a fictional script of this creature, kids really were disappearing and the m0b was running the city at the time. Kids “not pictured” often were the ones who disappeared and that stuff really DID OCCUR. So it’s part real life. I lost several friends & some have gone without justice, one was Portland’s most talented Dj. So I feel this movie was super important, and needs more attention cuz many of these kids across the city now grown still haven’t gotten reparations, and some haven’t been found to my knowledge. Kids were disappeared after being fake enrolled in school without school pics for 2-12 weeks, tested on, exploited in the industry, then never seen again. We really did have an asbestos problem. Psychedelic testing at the graveyards for kids really did occur and these kids deserve reparations all of these years later and if this movie can get enough attention, maybe that can finally happen. I was a virgin of this too. And there’s other vids up about it as well for those interested. Thanks for the review of our childhood hard work that shows a great understanding of the comedic horror genre. The song choices each had meaning. It was brilliant really, it’s just not everyone might know what these kids went thru or why they did this film. They also put it on songs and in other tv shows like Phineas & Ferb was also one of our childhood projects. So I discuss all of this in my review, for those interested and wanna help these now grown kids get some justice and reparations.

I enjoyed it but I left feeling a little unsatisfied. I think it's what you said...... It's a bit weak sauce. Missing edge and needed another helping of camp. Diablo Cody usually has this really unique and amazing dialogue and the fact that the male lead can't speak until the last 2 minutes of the movie really put a dent in one of her best assets as a writer. Still a fun watch and it had some unexpected surprises. Really liked the two lead actresses ❤🪓

It was in the early episodes *Supernatural* (The CW series!), that 'necromancy' was a plot point...that, and *Zombies* are creatures that's not easy to laugh at - but, you view's right, characters "too polished" with "unwashed hands" merits a PG13 interest I guess!
