This song just makes me so happy and I thank you for posting it - in it's original version from "On the Way Down from the Moon Palace" (please oh please re-release that one!!!!). I went to the same high school as Lisa in Mishawaka and am very happy to have known her, if only for a brief moment. She is so very talented!
It's actually not! Bizarrely, this version of the song is unavailable ANYWHERE. The album version is on her album Happiness, and the reissue has a version that sounds nothing like this or the album version. This version, the radio edit, only exists on a few promo CDs that I can't seem to track down. Shame I can't find it in higher quality!
Only recently discovered Lisa. I can always count on this song to make me laugh and feel happy. She has delightful unvarnished sweetness. Who ever it was who married her is a very lucky man.
Yes! I argued with a DJ about this. I told her the version she was playing (this one) was nicer than the one on the record. She insisted they were the same. I thought I must be nuts (which is still a possibility).
This version is NOT Capitol version. I've got Capitol records version and it sounds different. 4AD version is completely different too. Seems to me this is video/single only version which hasn't been released anywhere.
I just went to allmusic.com and they have this video listed under Lisa Germano. The same video but it doesnt sound like this..... this is really werid.. does anyone know what album this is on?
I first noticed Lisa Germano touring with John Mellencamp. She is one talented & beautiful lady. All the way down to her pretty feet. I love sexy Italian brunettes!
Bizarrely enough, this version of the song wasn't on the original version of the album either! It was a "radio cut" that's only out there on some promo singles... I don't wanna pay $20 for one online.
The album version is way way way more moving and emotive. I think they were trying to polish this up for mass consumption. It's a pity, the original is one of the most profound songs I have ever heard.
