The number of times she's been on his show suggests that he thinks she's a good interview. I've never seen a list of most frequent Conan guests, but she has to make the list.
@Shannon McCall Not at all, because, Lisa and Conan had been amicable exes for a long period of time. There were *never* any hard feelings or resentment, contrary to Jennifer and Brad of course. So, doing this interview was pretty easy. Also, because both being very smart.
I just watched the newest podcast with Lisa on Conan Needs a Friend and how he was invited to her wedding, sat with the Friends cast who were all wondering if the show would take off lol. It's cool to get a glimpse of their friendship over 30+ years and how much they always supported one another. Even though they didn't work out as a romantic couple, I think they're meant to be best friends
One of the Friends (Jennifer Aniston, I think) said that Lisa had an infectious laugh that could destroy the entire cast, sometimes for multiple takes.
@@giannipuface9441 No, they didn't. Conan was always saying that he didn't have a girlfriend in that period. They were not a couple unless you apply 1950s standards to that. They just knew each other and met a few times.
This woman might not have been considered sexy in the "Jolie" kind of way, but she is extremely beautiful on the inside, so it radiated on the outside as well. And she aged like fine wine too!
@@westerling8436 Yeah, agreed! Just that a lot of people would not call her "Hollywood material". I personally don't care too much for that sort of label, to be honest. She's just a beautiful and wonderful lady.
I first saw Friends in French and a lot of the humour was lost in the translation. It was mostly just four people talking. Then l saw it years later in English and the light dawned.
@@myytchanneldinakoha8498 l can count. The episodes l saw usually started with 3-4 people talking, and others came later. But thanks for insulting my intelligence.
Kudrow also slipped in a mention of the short-lived, stupid , U.S. daytime "soap-opera" named "Santa Barbara" which due to its proper name, title _alone_ was picked up by foreign networks for airing abroad. It played in France for years(mid 1980's+) even though there was *nothing* to distinguish it from not only far superior fare in the daytime soap category but certainly better product among the prime-time television programs available for purchase. except that the show contained the name of an american locale in its title it became a popular choice. That was its selling point to French execs NOT the quality of the programming combined with the lower price tag for crappy daytime soaps
@@manofiske3318 I take that as a personal attack. I liked that show when it first came on. Granted, after a while it cratered and I jumped ship. Okay, now that I think about it, it wasn't that good.
@Wandering Philosopher I was just kidding in my comment if you read it. Of course you do *not* need a famous partner as an actor. The only thing that matters, like Conan's wife or the husband of Lisa, is that they are responsible, kind, mature, thoughtful and sweet.
Watching this knowing they started out in improv together is sweet. It’s so cool that they got to connect like this and cross paths as their careers were starting to take off.
@@millie9814 if you grow up in a latin culture (includes France), you learn flirtation and romance as you grow up. As an art it is far more valued than something like scholarship or management or finance. The one disadvantage is that people who know how to have so much fun with nothing but words, glances, and body language can sometimes fail to find reason to pursue wealth. If a woman finds a latin man who loves her AND has money... she is unlikely to ever want for anything else.* *Disclaimer: statement includes vast generalizations over millions of individual human beings. Because she is an actress, I'm not surprised by how well she nailed the manerisms and atitude. But I'm impressed by the quality of her French, a relatively rare thing for an American or any other English speaking person (they usually have a lot of trouble correctly pronouncing the vowels in any romance language).
Remember they both met and dated back in improv in the 80s. She was one of the ones that encouraged Conan to do late night, so far going with him to his audition.😁
It's so obvious why they were a couple. Besides being beautiful, she is a bit weird, unpredictable while honest and makes him laugh. Who wouldn't fall in love with someone like her?
Just watching anything from the 90s you get such a great sense of calmness and integrity. You can just tell these are real and great people who mean what they say.
Watching different clips of conan throughout different time periods (90s, 2000s, 2010s) you can see conan improve his comedy and wit and jokes hahahahahah
Just realized Conan must really like blondes and the name Lisa. No wonder Lisa from the Simpsons was smart and blonde (despite Marge having blue hair), and why Conan's wife Liza not only has the same name first name, but also blonde and lowkey kinda looked like Lisa Kudrow here when he met her for a sketch.
Jesus the amount of BS she said about the French in a few minutes XD (her imitation was spot on, though) But I like that she COULD say that. It's still better than what we got today.
Maybe it's just me but when you date someone from a different culture, you have the right to dish on it a little bit. It all comes from pure observation of course, no hate. My boyfriend is Spanish and I love "complaining" about the Spanish people and culture haha.
True... This only reached a narrow group of American viewers, back then. Now, it would reach the whole world, including the French, it would be all over twitter, and the trolling and moralizing would start... (That could still happen, I guess, but the clip is so old it *may* have lost its power to offend.)
Lisa kudrow is one of the most elegant lady in hollywood...very polite n value her self as a woman, she only shake hands with someone that she is not close with, not many celebs there did that...she is funny n inteligent...i know now why conan used to date her...
Oh god, Americans!!! They always act so silly when they hear French... Why? It’s just another language, which everyone can learn to speak. For instance I did, so anyone can ... :)
@@elsedutch4972 No language is "just another language"; each having its own peculiar and special qualities which are reflective of those original speakers of the tongue who came together, conspiring in a sense, to form something apart from what had come before. If one is referring to the French Language in particular , it is noteworthy as a highly affected even somewhat pretentious language, that is, it was deliberately constructed(rare) or altered at some point in its development in order to make it more poetic(romantic, if you will) in its sound and reading. To have achieved the level of success in this regard that "French" has , alone, sets it apart from many widely disseminated and recognized , i.e. "universal" idioms since it is accepted that such a language will no doubt eventually pass through the mouths of the crudest and most barbaric of the populace . So, again, the fact that it retains most of these tell-tale traits in spite of its exposure to the vulgar masses is extraordinary .
