In any other recording I would have given you a time mark for the Fugue, but as you reach the transition, I think you'll see why I don't here. Letting the Fugue follow simply as a natural consequence of the Prelude like this, with neither ceremony or character of its own, almost gives the form a symbolic undertone. Not the two unruly siblings, but two complementary forces in harmonious union, neither of which is complete without the other.
Indeed this whole performance was unusually beautiful, and in a way which isn't deliberately painted before you. The most remarkable aspect of her playing however might have been something entirely technical: her sound production, which had such lushness and unforced volume that but once have I heard one like it before. Seeing her do it this same season, by throwing weight in to the keys, ever with full, harmonic, pendulum like motions, was a science with results which were thoroughly startling - as much for the size of the sound as for its rounded, effortless beauty.

She was in really good form that season. The second time I heard her, in 2021, I didn't enjoy it as much, but to be fair to her, she had had a difficult trip back and hadn't sleep much. I haven't listened to her in a while.
