I had always heard. That paintings that are not signed, are not valuable. Also, that if there were no marks or signatures on glass. That it could not be Murano! Until I found you about 4 years back! Thank you so much for everything you teach us! Love you Dr. Lori 💙🖤💙🖤💙

Hello from Australia. Thank you Dr. Lori for your very educational videos. I get really frustrated by another myth and the inaccurate/incorrect information given by many resellers. As someone who has a fine art degree and 43 years as an art teacher I want to tell them " Just because a painting is signed doesn't mean it is a good painting, and just because something is hand carved doesn't mean it is well carved". ...and don't get me started on their comment when they pick up a piece of Asian porcelain and dismiss it because it is "too thin and not good quality". They need to spend more time educating themselves and less time thrifting with one hand.

I have a small collection of Hummels, about 20 or so. I love them because they remind me of my son and my daughter when they were little. I don’t care if they are worth a lot, etc. I just enjoy them. The same is true of my Kewpies. I enjoy the nostalgia and relatability of items. If some day they are worth a lot, all the better but not necessary. Great info video! 👍🏻❤️

I don't collect Vaseline glass, but I do look for it. I thought it was only Vaseline glass that glowed. Thank you for sharing all your valuable information. I always learn something. I have a few Hummel pieces, again I don't collect them, they are in the original boxes. I have watched your videos and I know they are valuable. Should I take them out to inspect them? I didn't know they could be painted different colors, thank you for clarifying.

@@DrLoriV I was just wondering if I should take them out of the box as they have never been removed from them. I got them from a neighbor after she passed. One day I am going to start reselling, I'm not quite ready yet. But when I do, I will schedule a call with you to get the current values. You are the only trusted Appraiser I know. Because of have watched your videos, not all of them, but I know you tell us Hummels are worth money. The original price tags are also on them. You are my most valuable asset! Dr. Lori i have this ring. It has 2 cornicellos. "Italian horns". They are 14k gold. An the ring is made out of silver. Its a heavy silver signet ring. One horn sits on top of the table of the ring. An the other horn is on the side of the ring. The ring weighs 66 grams. My pendant is a silver medallion piece. It has a gold horn soddered onto it just like the ring. An a 3 carat tourmaline set into a 4 prong set setting onto the pendant. 14k gold also for the horn on the pendant. Would love to show you one day an get your advice on these 2 pieces.... The setting for the tourmaline is gold.. 14k...

Can a Hummel have no mark? I have the boy and girl with umbrella that is white with light blush color. It has some fracturing on the umbrella. My mother in law had it for years. She passed few years back at 86 or so.

@@DrLoriV well when ever I go to the thrift store I always see a pile of silver plate trays no one wants to buy. I have also asked silver dealers if I should ever buy silver plate and they say no just leave it behind only buy Sterling or coin silver.
