This is why I like Periphery. No matter what song it is, it absolutely SLAPS because they say "Hey, what have we got to lose? Let's make this thing our next best."
Pretty much every song, I have my issues with specifically MK Ultra and Silhouette, obviously A Black Minute and Reprise are slower songs, but those are to set up the main narrative for the story of Juggernaut, so I don’t hate them, but I just can’t stand MK Ultra and Silhouette, everything else is fantastic though.
@@speeddemonji9547are you both out of your mind? 😂 I hate a lot of peripherys stuff that is just straight up heavy, or too dark but MK Ultra is fucking epic lol it sounds like a total lunatic wrote and performed it 😂 It's a really fun song and the best off alpha
Omega has a nostalgic connection to me. When I was in France I had that song on loop about 500 times I kid you not. So when I hear that song, naturally I feel nostalgic and love it.
You need to listen to it 500 times to fully appreciate it. That mf is so dense it's not even funny but it's also one of the best songs ever written. Imo only stranger things and racecar are better but I could swap Omega and ST if I didn't like listening to them in order LOL
I think it's especially the ending that just makes me not want to hear it. It's far from their worst, I just don't dig it. It's one of the rare songs it feels like they're trying too hard to he hard lol I feel that way about a ton of other bands. I love brutal metal but I also get bored of it if there's no contrast. The heaviest thing I used to listen to is Killswitch engage and rhey are ultra melodic, with brutality mixed in like periphery is most of the time.
I was like “this is LITERALLY me walking into work” (no I’m not an edgelord just going hamboni in my head while my exterior is nice and pleasant) nobody knows pandemonium is going on in my headphones 😂
Listen in order from P1 all the way through to P5, including Juggernaut and the EPs, there’s only one disappointment of a song in my opinion (Silhouette on P5), but everything else is AT LEAST a 7/10
Easily in their top 3. Better than Reptile IMO Also has one of the best riffs ever (the "transcending boundaries of affliction" riff). Mrak is a genius
Their newest album really shows their colors. They don't just stick to one type of metal, they cover a ton of different styles. Reptile is a 17 minute long one that inspired Bury The Light (Vergil's Theme) My favorite is probably Wax Wings, but it's so damn hard to choose because they all slap.
@@jimmymckie2272 I was referring to the songs in the video haha. But if you could give some recommendations that would be great. I’m really into meshuggah and gojira and I don’t like peripherys more melodic/clean parts. The price is wrong is my favorite song by them so maybe something similar to that?
@@gabrielallert I’d then recommend motormouth which is just next on that album For more Meshuggah stuff I’d say The walk Letter Experiment Zyglorx Make total Destory Ragnarok The bad Thing Blood Eagle Chvrch Bvrner Everything is fine! Wildfire
Really? You like crush? The icarus remixes? Even everything is fine? I love the band but man I hate some of their songs 😂 it's pretty rare though. Usually only 0-2 per album (p1 and p2 have zero songs that are even mediocre. Both albums are near perfect)
@@HugoStiglitz88 crush one of my fav periphery songs ever I myself don't count the remixes as long as I like the original everything is fine is dope af
I first found them back in 2011, have looked back and smiled a million times ever since. They keep getting better for me like an old record that my parent's introduced me to in my youth:) 🤘
