I clicked on the Behind the Scenes video this morning and it took me to a page to join up for Members Only content. Maybe thats a sign that you've 'arrived'. Could be misconstrued as you are getting a little big for your britches as well. Love your content. Been watching you since your first videos. You're a heck of a mechcanic and you pay great attention to detail. We need more like you in this world. Thanks.
I’ve had optional Channel Memberships for the last 3 years, one of the perks is the Behind the Scenes series of videos (currently sitting at 252 episodes) and also early access to every new episode that plays on the public feed, released 24 hours early plus running ad free during that time 👍
Thanks Squatch, For sure a nice bunch of shows. I've watched the Albany show about triple in size since I first attended it around 1980. I travel our 5 state area going to shows and I strive to attend at least one new to me show each year. This year it looks like I'll hit at least 2 new shows, Granite IA (near Sioux Falls SD) and the English Prairie show (near Wadena MN). I continue to be amazed that I can find so many new shows to attend, often almost in my back yard. Even with all the shows I've attended, no matter how big or small a new show is, I always see something I've never seen before. With a little luck I might see you at a show again this year.
😊I’ve been to 2 of the mentioned threshing shows. Almelund and Le Sueur shows. When we were at Almelund in 2006, displayed over 600 tractors. My father-in-law introduced me to the threshing shows. We also went to the shoes in Butterfield, Mn., Hanley Falls, Mn. and Little Falls, Mn. once. I also want to go to the Albany, Mn. show. Fun times watching the old saw mills, threshers, steamers and tractors.
Thanks for the update Toby! We all have the shows we all like to go to. Last weekend was one of mine and also got to see the 150 Case again. Can’t wait for the next video
Thanks for the video Toby. I sure do wish we had as many tractor shows where I live in Nova Scotia. They only have a couple around here and it's usually a 4 to 8 hour drive to get to them. Cheers
# Strategy. Don't go to ANY of them. That way anyone that may happen to have questions for Rick Bork can direct them solely to Squatch253. 👍🤣 your welcome.
My favorite times with my Grandpa were tractor shows. He didn't watch the parades, though. His favorite part instead was finding the big prairie tractors and watching the (typically) guys struggle to start them before the parade. Some tractors would start on one tug of the cranking mechanism after 10 minutes of setting dials, knobs, and levers just so; and others would eventually require belting to a small farmall or deere when the starting crew was feeling light headed. about 1/3 of your shows listed i had been to with my Grandpa. Thanks for the unexpected trip down memory lane :)
Hey Squatch, I'm loving you channel, i'm from near Albany, Western Australia. They guy I started my carpentry apprenticeship in New Zealand over 50 years ago had 5 farmalls of various types. So i've been interested in watching your vlogs. Cheers
@@squatch253 if your looking for tractor parts that is the place to go. You will not be able to walk the show in a day. it will take 2 days. We rent a golf cart every year.
I’ve spent a lot of days (and several paychecks) in the swap meet at Portland. I don’t get to dig through it like I used to because my kids are little and they get impatient. Definitely a good show
Yeap, It's a Great show. Something for everyone. Steam, oil field engines, flywheel engines, tractor pulls, plowing, threshing, swap meet, vintage goods. Getting ready to head there and set up the show nxt week myself
Great info haven’t been to Albany in years want to go back haven’t been to nowthen yet my grandfather belonged to the club when they were in rogers and I did some displays when I was in high school going to our local show in blackberry this weekend enjoy the shows
Great Video! I dont not think I will cross paths with you at shows this year, but there is a few new ones for me to check on. There is one down by Northfield MN, labor day week end I think I will go to. I would like to attend more but I work the weekend that everything is on it seems.
Sir, As you may already know but just in case, There is a Minneapolis Moline as the feature tractor show this year, over the Labor Day weekend. It is the Rice county steam & gas Engines Inc. located in Dundas MN I am going to try and go down there, I there anything you would like me to look out for if I can make it?
On top of ones you visit annually, do you have any “bucket list” shows that you would consider traveling a long distance for just to see once? (e.g Half Century of Progress, Midwest Old Threshers, etc) Im from Ohio and would love to visit Rollag at least once.
I was wondering if you were going to the forest city threshing show sense the feature is Minneapolis Moline, but looks like no seeing the MM Crawler this year 😅. Totally understandable, you and Sr sure are busy this year!
McGrath..... I went to school there for a little while. 51 students if you added up all the K thru 6 grades. I wonder if the old school building is still there yet??
If you can make it to Missouri the Ozark Steam Engine Association has it's show the 12th-15th of September lots of gas engines tractors and of course steam engines.
For me, Albany and Le Sueur are interchangeable, but I would defer to Albany if forced to pick one. I want to try England Prairie near Verndale, Minnesota this year, August 23, 24, 25. Do you guys have bucket list of out of state shows to visit? The diversion episodes are fun. Feel free to include them.
@@squatch253 It's a great show, 4 days on dedicated grounds. They have an operational Snow engine(so big it has it's own building), and an operational steam train you can ride. They have daily plowing with old and especially steam tractors, and an evening spark show by the steamers. There is an operational sawmill and much more. There are a few excavators and old dozers out playing the pit but the main focus is hundreds of tractors. They are from 'not restored' to 'better than showroom' shape and many have a story that goes with them. My neighbor brings his incredibly restored 1885 Birdsall steam engine, along with many other tractors.
Still hoping to make Almelund Saturday, but a few things are still up in the air. I was in Albany today. Still hoping to be there Friday. I'm not sure what the feature is. For sure my brother, and I hit Butterfield, and LeSueur. Maybe see you around. On my way to a dumpster fire.
You need to make the trip to Buckley old engine show in Michigan if you like steam this is for you not hard to find just look for the coal smoke and smell
I don't get political as I like the solution to mechanical problems. Thank you for teaching us. But I heard that your governor is universally known as "Tampon Tim". That is so funny if true. Why I don't know and probably don't want to know what he does with tampons.
