Bro, what the heck? I thought it was just me, and little worried about the negative comments. Come to find out so many other people are having the same problem. This can't be the 1st time this has been mentioned on RU-vid. I gotta watch more videos.
I'm not real knowledgeable but I have been thinking about Lithium - Iron batteries ( not lithium- ion ). I run a Buddy 125 for delivery so lot's of short trips and frequent starting. I just buy Weize batteries as they last about as long as the expensive YUASA AGM ones. The Lithium - Iron are popular with boating applications from what I've read and last much longer than lithium - ion. I need to do a lot more work ( needs a new harness as it's hacked up ) before I get to that point and the Weize ones are cheap - I just charge it every single night as my kick start rarely works.
Bro, kick starter suck, and never work right when needed. Do you have a little jump pack, just in case? I just think a BMS should do what it is designed to do. Is it just hype?
Yeah a lot of people take a bunch of stuff with them. I remember having AAA my 1st 2 years. Might want to renew it until I get a truck, to pick up my own bikes.
It's unfortunate. I wouldn't use a Lifepo4 in a motorcycle. I would expect one to last 1 year while the sla should last 2-4 years. If I was rich, I would throw a lifpo4 in everything. Anyways, it's good to see Hope out there. I'll probably be selling my Lancer soon after I take the driving test on it. I haven't been riding for a few months, but 6 months is a long time. I would be having withdrawals.
Bro...Hell naw on these Lifepo4's, it's ridiculous. Why didn't you tell me I was making a fool of myself? I wouldn't dare throw one on the R3, wait what? Selling your Lancer? Bro, say it ain't so.
@@kachiskid I was actually on the fence with the Shorai. I never heard anything bad about them. Your experience helped me out. I was tempted to build a 205 or a 232 but for the cost I ended up buying a 229cc chinese cruiser cheaper than the parts to build one.(plus I didn't have to do any work) I just get to the point where I have too many bikes/projects and the cruiser looks sweet and will smoke the 171cc.
@@kachiskid I posted a walk around on it and a short video going down the road. It's a Venom Ghost 250. I just haven't been riding since I never got my motorcycle license.
Gotta chime..lol shorai battery I've run, never had an issue but I've also heard horror stories just hasn't hit me. The technology is getting better and better.
Go with a Gel battery for your scooter, you won't be disappointed. I did a video on how I modified my battery box to accept a larger battery now I use a ytx12 gel battery by chrome pro. I have no complaints this is my second season with the same battery.
@@kachiskid I have the 11 pole stator and voltage regulator, that I need to install, got to watch your video again to get the wiring setup. I also bought the gear upgrade as well I will install that soon, already did the big bore kit, and some other Mods. I did videos on some of them, just haven't had the time to add all the videos need to find the time to edit them.
I went with a lithium cuz they were lite wait I got about 14 months out of mine for the price nowhere near worth it so I went gel cell old-school heavier I'm on two years and 8 months give or take a few weeks just throwing it out there half the price way more longevity I have in my 73 Ironhead my 2002 heritage Softail and my boat thanks kid just like you this is just my opinion but I have had great luck with the gel cells
Andy, the truth, did you tender the lithium? I didn't on either, but noticed maybe 1 day after, when the volt meter on the bike is dead. There is no way I shouldn't be able to get voltage to this battery. It's like the BMS is stopping me. Take the load off and wait...yeah right. Bro once I put a multimeter on it, drains from 0.64 to 0.05 in 2 seconds. Disappointed rider, over here.
@@kachiskid no I did not tender I really didn't think I needed to cuz at any one time nothing set for more than three or four months you know where I live you can pretty much do things year around but my boat sets for about 4 months gel cell no problem
You should always remove the center stand on scooters I think it's the first thing I do when I get a new one removes weight leans better and don't have to worry about the rubbing of it wearing out and causing damage and seriously you never need it
When are you gonna post Hopes new top speed after the variator and bbk? I just got a 169cc kit and I am waiting on an overdrive belt to hopefully get 70mph out of it. I think Hope can do 80 but I want to see it!
Lol. Thinking of doing it as a season ending episode. I need to weld my license plate hanger so it stops moving, and check on that front tire. When racing the vette, I noticed my front tire was doing some weird skipping.
Heya bud. I spoke to you for awhile when I first my cy150. I sure wasn't able to keep mine as nice as you kept yours. I need some more help, got a problem I cannot figure out, maybe you can help me. It starts ok, runs normal then after like 1 mile it stall out like its out of gas. But it starts right up again and goes another 1 mile or so, stalls like out of gas, then starts right up again then sure enough about a mile it stalls. Any ideas plz ?
I would throw another cheap carb. on it to get it to breathe right. I'm not into cleaning them because they are so cheap. What size carb. is on there? Is it original? Also make sure your not getting an air leak. When it happen to me, my underseat air filter hose had a crack in it.
@@kachiskid Sure your right. Its the same, before you did all your great mods. Mine is CY150D (Lancer 150). We def thinks it's carb and/or vacuum issue ? Also underseat air filter hose, not sure what hose you mean.
