I second that! I run Amped outdoors 30AH in my garmin livescope bundle for 2 days no problem. I have the Amped 12Ah in my marcum flasher, lasts all weekend. Imo they are way better than Dakota in performance and price.
Thank you for the great info James I need a new battery for my Vexilar all this info will help me when I pick it up. Thank you for sharing stay safe and tight lines.
That Milwaukee cap has a 12V output on the other side. They were designed for the M12 heated jackets and of course those come with one for the 12V batteries. I've built an adapter that can power my Lowrance Elite 5 HDI and have used it for over two years, works great! Looks like DeWalt has something similar but I haven't ordered one to try out. Also saw Masterforce has something just like the M12 cap. I thought this might be limited to people with Milwaukee batteries but if not I might need to start taking orders for adapters...
Having already invested in the batteries for my tools, this was super cheap. The best thing is not having to remember to get batteries back on chargers because I always have enough charged to go fishing. I can usually swap before I go. It's worked so well that I replaced my 8" auger with a StrikeMaster Lite-Flite last year and never looking back.
@@JLeeChron I have 8 of the High Demand 9.0 and 2 of the XC5.0. With the 9.0 I get 8-12 hours of use with my graph, depending on backlight setting. The 8" Lite-Flite has only once drained a 9.0 running and gunning, so far. My work just got some of the High Output 12.0 for the M18 chainsaw and some other tools but I haven't gotten to use them enough to know how long they're going to last.
I got a Dakota lithium 12v 10ah on the helix 7 and a Marcum brute on my LX7. Both great batteries. One thing to mention for the Milwaukee power source. They came out with a new version for the M18 batteries. 2 x USB’s and a 175w 120v plugin.
You can get the Vexilar 9AH battery for $49 at Reeds right now. Plus you are supposed to use your normal vex charger. Don’t need a special charger. Best deal out there in my opinion. Also, you should’ve mentioned that lithium batteries don’t need to be charged after every use. They don’t mind sitting with less than a full charge. In fact, you are supposed to store them at 50% capacity.
Every battery manufacturer has recommendations for battery care and use that vary slightly from one manufacturer to the next so we didn't feel comfortable trying to put that into the video. For example, the Vexilar Lithium 9AH battery I'm looking at on my desk says right on the battery, under BATTERY CARE, "Recharge after every use. Store at 30%-50% capacity." NORSK 15AH says "Charge battery after every use." AMPED says "Charged after every use and recharge every 3 months when in storage." Imagine providing that info for all batteries in this video. Our advice is to follow the care and use instructions provided by the manufacturer as they're similar but not the exact same.
My marcum sat all of 8-10 months without charging because I’m lazy. I looked at it. Went to charge last week and it was 99%...this on a 3 yr old battery that doesn’t get heavy use
I just got the Norsk 15 AH battery for my Humminbird Helix 7 G3N. Ive noticed that after I charge it, the battery level on the battery reads 100%, but on the sonar it is reading lower. As I us it the battery level seems to drop very slowly as I'd expect, but the battery level showing on the sonar goes down fairly fast. Have you ever run into this issue?
Per Norsk: "they are NMC Lipo. 11.1v nominal for light drawing units and 14.8v for the power intensive units like Livescope. Thanks! " Not exactly the same battery chemistry. Just a FYI.
23Ah lithium would actually have close to 6 times the power of the standard lead acid since you can only really use half of that 9Ah capacity. So, the 10Ah lithium has over twice the capacity of the 9Ah standard battery at a fraction of the weight. Also, love my 48Ah NMC Amped battery with my Livescope
How many years will some of these batteries last is my biggest question. I'm on my 18th year now of using my Vexilar 9 ah battery! I just can't seem to want to spend the money for one of those when a standard battery only costs about 30 bucks and lasts years!
Most of these batteries are rated for 800+ to 2,000 recharge cycles. Which means if an ice angler were to charge the battery 40 times a winter, which seems highly unlikely for most anglers, the battery would last for up to 50 years. So, long time. 😊
anybody habve any problems with the Norsk battery? looking to upgrade my battery and that one seems like the best deal but i have never heard of the brand
