Sound decoders are so good now. Shame we never had them in the 70s. I use to suffer with terrible sore lips from making train sounds. I still suffer with them from time to time these days due to making racing car noises when I play Scalextric with the kids. 😂

The new track rubber is great. Track cleaning can be a hell of a job, as shown on Megapoints video, me cleaning the tracks on Pete Watermans layout prior to running on Saturday at the show… Class 66 a great loco, the new sound file is great. Hi Al- Lovely sound in the 66 and I love the Vulcan Class 37 with the planes which do look good against the backscene, I did see Mike's video on the Guagemaster track rubber and its on my to buy list with DCC Concepts spike stoppers. Cheers Kev

Bought one of those track rubbers as soon as the video finished, my track needs a good going over so while I’m laying it and it’s all accessible it will get a good clean. Thanks for the tip. Hi Allan … I went to the NEC show on Saturday, so sadly missed meeting up with you again. I think the show was fantastic and will be going next year and maybe will stay over and do both days. Picked up the Load Bank Kit from West Hill after seeing it on your layout. But then because I’m weak I bought the Double Track Fuelling Point kit as well 🙄🙄 Think I picked up Covid on the train or at the show as I tested +ve on Wednesday. On the bright side it just allows me to isolate in the train room. 😂😂 Hope we can meet up again soon. Regards….Steve 👍👍

Hi Al! Great to meet you at the NEC. Lawrie from LMM was around as well. Not sure if you saw him. Ive got a rake of these mk2s, original Airfix ones so pretty ancient. Ive fitted them all with close(r) couplings but i reckon theres a shorter coupling like the mk2 so maybe that's what I'll need. I did pay them a visitcat the show but id already hit my budget. I'm toying with the idea of filling the gap with the Keen Systems gangway end plates, as you need a 4mm gap which means they'd be spring loaded. I'll try it out on my cheap 'experimental ' coaches first though.

Great video m'lord, sounds like you had a great time on Sunday at the show.The close couplings on the carriages make them look much better too, but the Avro set you got from Bachman was awesome really nice locos in there mate

I do have an affectionate soft spot for Mr. HST, I wish you had bought him wearing BR Blue & Grey. I don't mind watching him run, but I must admit It's a whole lot more fun to watch steam engines all day.

Hello, m'Lord! Great variety of info and story today, and a great mix of models to show. Glad to see the 66 get a new chip and a cool collector's box for the 37. I agree, buying something and not using it seems a waste. It must be quite an experience (if sometimes maddening) to go to shows and have folks recognize you! Mind you, I get it. lol OF all the things you've shown, I think the picture at the end with you and your grandson was the most impressive... he has grown int he two years since we met the director! Sounds like you had a good crack at the show. I`m booked for GETS, I might add this show to next year, if I can sort care for the wife while i`m away. Nice find on the 37 vulcan pack. I remember them going down to about 165 quid,at the time, 66 sound good to.
Great looking class37 pack the two aircraft look good against the backdrop, I’m with you on the what’s the point of buying if your not going to use it front. I also have one of those Gaugemaster track rubbers on its way, think DCC Concepts also do the same type.

Jealous of the Vulcan XH558 collectors set. I have been looking out for that for a while but as you say it is pricey on ebay. I knew a pilot of the Vulcan and have always admired the plane.
Sure was a fantastic plane .Seen it it flying a few times and what a sound she made. Just keep looking for the set they do turn up from time time . Them on e-bay are just after profits . So thank you for watching.
its easy to short circuit , find the fault ,my gaugemaster sort of flashes.However with these super expensive locos ,there must be a device to protect from voltage surge to other locos.on the track.do you know of any device .?
Yes i know about shorts doing it a lot but it was the first time it did it to a lok sound chip. and yes you can get a anti surge device from DCC Concepts check them out.
