Essen 1977 : From a Rockpalast concert shown all over Europe ... I didn't want to split the two songs as the intro to Fat Man in the Bathtub from Skin it Back is just so good!
My fave band. Period. LOTS of great bands throughout the decades but these guys just do it for me. Been listening to them since 75 or so. RIP Lowell, Richie and Paul.
I love reading everyone's memories of seeing Little Feat live. Lowell's voice is so unique, irreplaceable and watching these concerts proves the value of this band over and over again ...thanks for posting🌹
I was very fortunate enough to see Little Feat back in 1978 in Baltimore Civic Center, when Lowell George was still alive, plus an added bonus was sitting in the second row, center stage. They put on one heck of a concert!
Little feat one of the truly great live bands EVER. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE SEEN THEM LIKE 20 TIMES I WAS IN LARGO MARYLAND WHEN PARTS OF WAITING FOR COLUMBUS WAS RECORDED WHAT A NIGHT
A rare glimpse of one of the greatest, possibly the greatest, rock and roll bands to ever exist. Great footage of Lowell playing the slide guitar. Feels like lifetimes ago, and makes me want to cry...but I won't. Waiting for Columbus remains their testament, still the album I would most want to be stranded on a desert island with. Lowell, Ritchie, Paul...loved all you guys. Bill, Sam, Kenny...you guys too. All of you were the best of rock and roll.
I remember reading an interview with Paul Barrrere from years ago, and he was asked about the impetus for "Skin It Back". He responded, something along the lines of "well, you know, I'm not circumsized." :D
Yes, and it’s “dangerous” to ask about Fat Man in the Bathtub, too. I had to research that phrase, I had never even encountered it, here in the Northeast. Those guys got away with so much back then, using all that street talk.
These days the political police wouldn't have allowed the most Fantastic Band ever to release an album. It's ridiculas, in my opinion.✌️❤️🌼@@CasperLCat
This is cool reminder about how great this band was. Audiences and critics loved them but they never got the record sales they deserved. The current line up do a fine job but the band here are truly special.
I wish I had seen them whenLowell was still alive, but did see them them soon after they regrouped! Melissa Ethrirdge, an up and coming star, opened for them! Great night! Still go to see them and they are still great!!!
Have come to the conclusion that a really good drummer with his own style is crucial to a bands success, think The Police, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Stones, etc.
@@AudricDenis Would be great to think quality never dies and maybe people in future will rediscover them but there’s no sign. Doubt if they get many listens from anyone under 60.
The band continues of course but it was over when Lowell left the earth.....a different band, new players, and for a while, when they had Craig Fuller as front man, lead vocalist, almost as good as the Lowell led band.....in a different kind of way.....but they aren't Feat any more, just aren't, no matter how good Fred is on guitar, how steady Payne is on keys/vocals, etc. As Mary Hopkin once sang, Those Were The Days...my friend....we thought they'd never end.....etc etc. So true
