There's a gnome village in a fairy garden area near a museum garden here. It's a beautiful little setpiece that I think is adorable and looks a lot like this.

Rats & mice are an important part of the ecosystem & whilst I understand people don’t want their homes overrun with rodents, there’s a way to live in harmony with them. That set up is a mousie mansion. I’m sure they know they’ve got it good with you. What a lovely, gentle soul you are, Sir, I wish more could be like you!
Reminds me that there are good mice in the world. Hating mice because you had an infestation in your home is like hating people because you had a rash of burglaries in your area. You cannot discount the good mice just sharing their existence with the rest of us.
@@sarahsilverlight2064they are cute until you find poops all over your stuff. Then not so cute. Plus they can carry diseases. Best they be outside and not sharing inside space with us. My grandmothers garage burnt down from mice chewing wires and it almost got her because she wa old. My sister drove my saw the garage on fire and ran in and carried my grandma to safety. So yes mice are cute but it doesn’t negate the fact they can do a lot of damage if they become an issue.
@@whattomakeofit3436not all people are awful. It’s all in perspective. Look up the RAS system in your brain and how that shapes your reality by your beliefs. Universe gives you exactly what you expect. Always. Try changing it sometime and see what magic can happen. I bet you will meet some wonderful ppl if you see the possibility in your beliefs.

@boardcertifiable they were here before us humans we just go in an area cut down trees which is the home to many different animals. Birds which has brought to extinction of manybirds and animals. So yes this man is a kind soul.
Ppl seem to imagine that there are living things that are "Worthy" of compassion & care... & everything else. Most glaring when which ones get which treatment is actually So arbitrary . Grace is shown to all here... the 'deserving' & the 'Undeserving'. The gentle rain falls both on the Gardener that is a Scoffer, And the conscientious Grateful Prayerful Gardener. The bright Sun shines upon the Just & the Unjust: Seeing then that God Himself acts thus... who are We to treat only a select Few "Fellow Travelers here among us"-- 'Well' , [ ie: with Kindness, & Respect] ?

@@nct948It's because they are mostly nocturnal, so they can see better in the dark. Hamsters and other nocturnal rodents have the same eyes. They remind me of shiny black beads like my grandmother had on her handbags.

You've inspired me to do something similar. I stopped putting so much birdfood out as people said it would encourage the rats and mice (both of which I quite like), but why not? They are just as cute as the squirrels and other creatures that visit me.
field mice are one thing, but rats can transmit serious diseases and will multiply to incredible number given the right conditions. They are fascinating creatures, clever and fearless, which make them difficult to control in an environment where they can discretely breed without being noticed until they reach critical overpopulation. Be careful what you wish for, lol!
@@nct948Yes. Which can also cause problems if you have nearby neighbors, no one wants an infestation. We’ve even had squirrels chew through wires nearly causing a fire. We had an old man in our neighborhood that fed those squirrels every day and their population (plus the rats) exploded. Also dug up lawns. I think it’s fine to build them cool little homes, but unless you’re in a remote area I would limit how much you feed them. Giving them treats once a week or every other might be fine but I would avoid feeding them daily and they shouldn’t rely on you for the majority of their meals. I guess if you’re in the middle of the country side and no one is near you can do whatever but be careful if you have neighbors.
@@Jenacide absolutely. Personally I would love to befriend crows as there are quite a number of them in our retirement park. However I know that my neighbours would be very upset by their presence as we also have various little birds that could suffer from their egg poaching and baby bird snatching. As you say, it depends where you live.

This is so adorable to watch. As a child, I used to watch Hammy Hamster in "Tales of the Riverbank" and this reminded me of it (even though this is a mouse). I was transported back to being a child watching this. Instant sub!
