I played Littlewood for the first time this year too and it's honestly my favorite game I've played this year. The characters are so amazing and unique, the customization is flawless and fun, there's TONS of details such as upgrading buildings and all the things you can build, randomized festivals, and you can do tons of activities that are cutely animated and tons of fun. I cannot say enough good things about this game. It is the light of my life. And! The creator is in progress of making a sequel to littlewood which also has monster collection/battle !!!!
I love this game so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it as well! The way that time only passes when you do a task is such a unique mechanic. It's enough to make the game feel quite fresh throughout. Definitely the type of game that could fly under the radar, but the pixel art is so good!
6:56 I was definitely one of those people that passed on it because of the art style. However after seeing this video and how much more this game has to offer, I'm now seriously considering purchasing it for myself
The idea of moving things around within the whole town really reminds me of Harvest Moon Magical Melody. That always was my favorite Harvest Moon game, because of the ability to move stuff around like that! I'm going to have to give this game a try for sure!
Littlewood is definitelllyyy underrated! I also go out of my way to talk to Dalton. Also I love the little wiggle dances the NPCs randomly do, it’s so cute
I'm so happy you discovered Littlewood! I was lucky enough to discover its kickstarter a long time ago, but I didn't play it very much on steam once Sean (developer) said he was going to put the game on switch. I've nearly 100% the game on my first file. It's easily in my top 5 favorite switch games. It's just so charming. Enjoy the game!
I've been on the fence about trying out this game but this sold me on it! I actually really like a lot of the mechanics mentioned and I'm excited to experience them in-game! :-) Also, I'm really glad to hear that the dialogue is enjoyable! That's definitely something I really look forward to in these types of games.
It looks really good the colours are so happy and it reminds me of a building stardew valley version game I love it definitely going to buy when I get paid next month as I'm broke rn
Amazing video! I am obsessed with this game and I decided to drop a review for it next week as well. I just can't stop thinking about it. It truly catches your heart and just like Cozy Grove, it has this thing where you catch yourself wanting to do one more task, advancing one more story, completing one more day. The characters are so charming and the game is so relaxing. Amazing job on this video 💕
I was looking at cozy grove and almost got it, but I ended up grabbing Fantasy Farming: Orange Season instead. May pick that one up next time I want a game of that type. I obsessively played through Littlewood twice, and have a ton of hours in it, haha
I can't believe it's taken me this long to play this game! I got it on a whim a week ago because it was on offer and I've been playing it non stop!! It's become one of my favourite games in general, i can't wait to progress even more 🤩 really enjoyed your review of it, I think you summed the game perfectly
I know I’m late to the video, but the creator of Littlewood, Sean Young, has posted updates on his Twitter that he’s already making plans for a sequel (which introduces Pokémon-esque monster taming gameplay).
Thank you for sharing this! I’m definitely going to go check it out. The small description and few photos on the switch do not give a good enough pictures for it. I’m going to go check it out😊
I knew you were gonna dig out this gem eventually. I personally play Littlewood a lot and I can surely say that it's an amazing and charming experience for every person who likes farming-life sim games. Nice work as always.
This is such a great game! I tried it out last year and was really surprised with how much fun I was having with it. I definitely would say people should give this game a try! I feel a lot of people will be surprised with Littlewood if they give it a try!
I’d seen it on the Switch Eshop coming soon screen and I’m so glad to hear it is in fact well worth playing! Just jumped from high on my list to the very top. (Probably going to clear some of my backlog first, though - whole lot of games I keep intending to play and never touch in my Switch library.)
Aww, I'm so glad to see you cover Littlewood! I backed it forever ago on kickstarter and played it to death while waiting it's official release xD was always fun seeing the progress and how the game changed and what new things got added. It turned out really great in the end!!! It deffo deserves more attention with how cute and fun it is!!! Also; protecc Dark.
I love this game. I need to get back into it and unlock the rest of Dark’s backstory. I really like the customization of moving buildings and designing the town. The limitations of animal crossing is why I haven’t fixed a couple of the houses.
I had so much fun playing Littlewood when it first came out, then it came out on the Switch and I bought it so that I could play it in handheld. This game is so good that I had no problem starting over again
@Wilder I have seen this game before and I was like nah with it. But u just changed my mind! I might either get Littlewood, POOT or ANB next month so I can have something to play while I wait for Witchbrook, Coral Island, Roots of Pacha and RF5! BTW I’m going to be graduating next month! And another piece of good news for you is that I think Witchbrook might happen this year or next year because I read it been in the works since 2018 and its now 2021! So basically 3 years has passed so yeah fingers crossed for it! Have a great day!
I've been wanting to play this for a long time! The only thing stopping me from getting it is grad school and other games I happen to already have and haven't played cx
Thanks for this! Definitely going to have to check this out! Speaking of new games, I just recently started playing Cozy Grove. Have you heard of that? Would highly recommend!
Oh heck yeah I love this game! It's fantastic and soothing. I love how time is based on actions. It means I can actually just sit and enjoy the scenery without feeling like I am wasting an in-game day. It feels like, revolutionary ahaha. My only sadness is that I put lots of decorations everywhere, but it didn't seem like too many to me... but the frame rate is pretty bad now, and walking over any flowers causes a pretty big hitch. It got bad enough that I stopped playing. ^^; so caution to overdecorating! (or maybe just too many flowers lol--and granted I was only playing on Switch handheld mode) Either way glad to see it getting more love!!
Littlewood was super fun! I think the energy/time system is really creative, but I also found it somewhat irritating as I played more. Villagers GIVING you a gift costs the same amount of energy as pulling a weed or chopping down a tree, which discouraged me from talking to anyone if I wanted to get resources that day. The amount of customization possible for your town is amazing though. The fact it's all one menu is convenient and you get all the material back if you decide to demolish something. It's also a shame it won't be getting anymore updates as I think the lore behind the game has a lot of room for expansion (and admittedly I found a couple bugs). It also would have been nice if more of characters backstories wasn't locked behind romance.
I've never heard of the game and honestly the pixel graphics does make me hesitate but I think I'll give it a try! It sounds like a lot of fun~~ but I do have alot of games to play through first
Ill tell you exactly why you and so many others slept on this gem from the switch - all the mobile freemium ware B.S. thats allowed to exist on the switch muddles and lowers the general quality of the entire store down to the point that things like this, which at a glance look like a mobile tier title, cant stand out enough to be noticed over the free to two dollar trash from your app store thats posing as 5-30 dollar titles on the switch. It is difficult to find anything of worth on the store if it isnt a 1st party title or had a triple A level marketing budget because the quality control is, in my humble opinion, of the same flavor as that of steam minus, thank god, the early access schemes. I'm glad you found this title. Its great to be able to support things like this. But its a shame how many other diamonds might be sitting in a saturated dusty corner of the switch store.
@@synthetic20 But if some random person walks up to me and is like, "hey buddy! :D " and I have no idea who they are, no amount of insisting we're friends is going to make them my friend. lol
I actually don’t like the fact that you only press the a button for everything. I enjoy the game a lot but after some time this actually makes me feel a bit bored ;v;
Seems cute. Edit: Ok so i tried the game and it is pretty cute but..the villagers don't really do anything and just stand there waiting for you to talk to them, they don't interact with stuff, and it's kinda boring. Plus the bachelors you can marry are kinda boring when compared to the lady characters, sucks when you're into dudes.
