This is adorable. I really like the stamina mechanic. Means you don't have to rush to get things done. That always annoyed me in Stardew. I gotta check this out, thanks for the review!
@@sgtbattleaxe Yeah, it's a bit too far on the minimalistic pixel side for my tastes. A more classic pixel artstyle like what one sees in your Stardew Valley's or indie RPG's would've made this game much better IMO. This artstyle looks... cheap, to me. Like a browser game circa 2002, or an early phone game, or an OG gameboy game. Regardless I find it rather unappealing. Here's hoping for a Littlewood 2 someday with a better artstyle.
6:52 you can actually hold shift (sprint) to move your building cursor faster too. It also moves your character to where your current building on-point location is as soon as you exit build mode so it's a way to navigate easier around your town.
This is a great review - well written and balanced critique, plus entertaining to watch! You've earned my subscription :) Also, the building mechanic in this game reminds me a bit of Dark Cloud for PS2!
@@peppage thank you i am already watching videos about it and straight went to twitter. i kinda exhausted myself by adding WAY too many mods haha and it made my game so laggy and i wanna take a new start i miss this game so much
I struggle with chronic illness meaning I spend a lot of time resting to spare energy throughout the week . Chill games are my favorite though turn based or semi turn based rpgs are fun too but the need to be on a portable console so I can play laying down or moving to take pressure off something. This game on the switch hits that for me and though I haven't had it for 6 hours its fun and I can see myself wanting to max everything much like a 3DS game Fantasy Life or Stardew.
Great review, thank you for making this! I enjoy your narration too, both relaxing and informative! I was on the fence, but I really think I'll get this game now. :)
I randomly found Littlewood on steam and wasn't 100% sure I wanted it until watching your review. Good review! I know you brought up the menu complaint, but does the game support controllers?
I gifted this to one of my sprog the other day and they let me know pretty shortly just how wonderful this little game is. I know I would love it too but the graphics kind of turned me off. I thought I'd look up a video to see how it looked being played and mostly it reminds me of Pokemon games. Considering I could easily fritter away hundreds of hours on just one of those I could possibly get into this. Thanks for the review--it was both informative and enjoyable because of your laid-back style.
I hate it when review channels never go over the negatives with games. How am I supposed to take you seriously if you don't have a take outside of the game description, like come on.
I go over the negatives but the ending isn't really the point of this game. Probably the biggest negative is that it's overly grindy but I also think people want that
Got this game because of all the people raving about it. I just don't get the hype. I wish I did. I'm in the fall of the first year and it still seems so boring to me. I think what kills it the most, for me, it's the ancient art style. This might have flown in the 90's, but I just can't into a game that looks like this now (unfortunately).
