The 2022 Hyundai Tucson N-Line is the fashion model of the Tucson lineup, but that doesn't mean that it isn't full of substance too! With Bose Audio, a Panoramic Sunroof, and more! This might also be one of the great values in the Tucson line.

Peter: Let's change the discussion a bit on low mounted rear vehicle lighting. I am a retired school teacher with lots of years of also teaching Driver Education. The guideline I always used when instructing was to pull up behind the vehicle ahead of you at an intersection where you can always see the tire treads of the vehicle infront of you. That will always provide adequate safe distance between the vehicle in front and the one trailing. This is easy to explain and later to refer to when testing. An instructional "take away" that always works! Keep up the great work!!

thats how I was taught as well... good safety point :)

Was taught the same thing. Ppl definitely too close if they think these lights are a problem.
@hwdan3096

The problem with the low mounted signal lights isn't with the vehicle directly in front of you, it's with the vehicle in the adjacent lane, especially on your right that might want to merge into your lane. That's a blindspot right there when the signal light is way too low. In tight stop and go traffic, or at a stop light, the low mounted signal can be hidden by your hood line. While I was stopped at a stop light recently, I was shocked to see a Sportage (I think) casually move over into the space in front of me with no signal! I was anticipating it anyway so I had my eye on the tail light. Only when it cleared over past my hoodline (my car is not tall), did I realize that it did in fact signal it's intent. Like I said, in tight stop-and-go traffic that might surprise a lot of drivers not expecting it, or having to yield a bit later than comfortable because you can't always see it in your periphery like you can if it was where 99% of vehicles have it. (mirror mounted signal lights might help but I haven't noticed if they all have it with the low mounted signal lights). The Forte is not as bad as these CUV's but I would love to see the Forte's get the same taillight treatment as the new 2022 Ceed GT's overseas!

@@hwdan3096 I guess I ignored a great point you made..we have an increased blind spot to the near lower right when seated in lhd vehicles. One suggestion would be placing a turn signal indicator in the rear pillar area or roof edge on each side. Amber and led, of course. This dates me..but a very advanced Citroen sedan of the 1950's/1960's era and beyond..the DS and ID models..featured just that. I would think with today's new technology and styling expertise, it would be quite easy to discretely incorporate this feature and improve safety at the same time. Valid idea??

Great content Peter! It helped me decide going for a new Tucson. On the other hand, I'm afraid your videos are so good, I won't be wowed or even surprised once the car is ready later in January or so. Big thanks anyway! ; )

Let me add to discussion or questions about low mounted rear vehicle lighting. I see no problem because the guideline I always used as a driving instructor was to maintain a "safety zone" space between your trailing vehicle and the stopped vehicle ahead of you. The rear tire treads must be visible when you stop. This also provides for some emergency "crush space" in event that your vehicle is hit from the rear. This is one of the many "take home" suggestions that I insisted on before the state exam. (Micigan) Keep up your great work..unique, in fact!
@BrantfordKia
@BrantfordKia 2 года назад
Yeah, two things I find. Some people don't like them down low, and that's fair. It's not my favourite styling feature either. But some people think they won't be seen. If you're driving, blinking lights really stand out. You do see them, and you will know which vehicle they're attached to, and if you don't see them, you're following WAY too closely so the problem isn't the lights, it's you! :). Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Hi Peter great content as usual.. I was eying up Stinger for the last 2 years and it will be discontinued in 2022 so not much desire to buy it any more. Looking for a performance SUV or car.. You mentioned Tucson N in your video. Are you sure there will be Tucson N or it is just a guess?
@BrantfordKia
@BrantfordKia 2 года назад
The Stinger is actually going to continue in Canada until 2023 model year. I don't have any information beyond that right now, so I can't confirm or deny if that will be the last model year. As far as a Tucson N, I think I meant to talk about the KONA N. I haven't heard any confirmation about the Tucson N. Right now we know we have a Veloster N, Kona N, and Elantra N coming. One thing to keep in mind, the Stinger is a performance car that is a lot more comfortable as an everyday driver than the N models will be. The N models are VERY focused on performance. They're an absolute blast to drive, but they are very performance oriented, and less luxurious and less plush ride etc. It's worth driving both just to see the type of difference that they offer. Not a lot of people will cross shop the N models with the Stinger.

Sorry if it's been asked, but can the back trunk be made into a power lift gate through the dealer after purchase, or would I have to go complete after market? Got my N Line about 3.5 weeks ago, and was a little disappointed it didn't have that power lift gate.

For the terrain modes, will either one of the m snow mud or sand have to be on the whole time or can you turn them off?

I’ve just had a software update carried out on my 2022 Santa FE because the maps kept saying “needs updating”. My question now is; before the update if I exceeded the speed limit of the road the shown speed would change colour from white to amber and then red depending on how much faster is was going. Now with the new software that doesn’t seem to be an option available anymore, if I exceed the limit is just remains white in colour; am I doing something wrong ?
@BrantfordKia
@BrantfordKia 2 года назад
Interesting. I'm not aware of the update that does that. Usually, I'd be able to go through the settings and help you find it, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.

does those touch climate button works with winter gloves?
@BrantfordKia
@BrantfordKia 2 года назад
It depends on the gloves. I was able to activate them with thin gloves on, but most of the time you'll be best served with gloves off. The touchscreen is easier to use without gloves too, and the heated steering wheel is pretty amazing, so most of the time, I take my gloves off to feel that warm wheel as that's the best way to keep my hands warm.

@BrantfordKia
@BrantfordKia 2 года назад
It completely depends on what you're looking for. I try to stay out of recommending one vehicle over another. I love my Hyundai Santa Cruz, it's perfect for my lifestyle, but my wife has a very similar lifestyle and she wouldn't choose the Santa Cruz. We're both right, it just depends on personal tastes, and what individual features matter to each of us.

@@deepakm8324 I can't tell you if waiting for one over the other is best for you. I will say that when the 2023 Sportage arrives, these vehicles will be competitors. But to decide if it's right for you or not, is not something that I can do.
