You must keep in mind that the crowd (Live Aid) even didn't know they were coming, because Queen were added to the list when all the tickets were sold out. THIS WAS NOT A QUEEN CROWD BUT STILL THEY STOLE THE SHOW. Freddie commanded the crowd at 2 stadiums simultaneously (Wembley and Philadelphia) and HAD THEM IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. Queen's performance at Live Aid is voted MOST ICONIC festiwal moment of all time. BTW Radio Ga Ga = Lady Gaga ,she is a huge Queen fan

The GOAT, the best frontman of any band ever. I was at Wembley Stadium the year after Live Aid for one of the last live performances Queen ever did. Freddie always had that rapport with the crowd, he loved it and so did we.

Thank you for reacting to this performance! Freddie’s “ay o” control of the crowd was a regular thing at all of their concerts. A Queen concert was, and still is, a giant sing along. Adam Lambert is singing lead for them now. He doesn’t pretend to be Freddie, but the guy has an unbelievable voice and vocal range. I saw Queen with Adam in 2019 and they are still amazing. Check out Adam’s vocals in his concert with Queen at Rock in Rio in 2016. The song you want to hear is “Who Wants To Live Forever.” It is fantastic. Looking forward to your reaction

I love this concert. I have seen it so many times but each time it is as exciting as the first. I hope this is not the copy of this that cuts off at the end, it really breaks the excitement but for some reason, I have been hearing that one lately. It is not the fault of the reactors, it is just something wrong with the download. I am excited to see this anyway, no matter the ending and I hope you love it as much as the rest of us Queen fans do.

Freddie sounded this amazing after having laryngitis the week before. His doctor recommended that he skip the concert and rest his voice, but Freddie of course ignored that advice and went on to make Rock history. When watching, remember that this wasn't a "Queen" crowd, they were just one of the groups that performed that day; and yet they stole the show.

Yes! I too am grateful that the late ‘60’ - early ‘70’s was my era. Auto tune robs us of the authentic voice with all it’s glory & imperfections. With auto tune every performance sounds the same. Queen’s live Montreal performance of Somebody to Love couldn’t have been so exceptional without the contrast of lesser renditions by which to compare. Today’s music robs its fans of magic.

Hahhaha yeah I also hate everything young people enjoy. I'm so happy that I'm part of a superior generation and have no idea about any of the new legends being born every day because I'm so engrossed in the past and how much better it was. I absolutely adore how my condescending nature will turn all newcomers away from my favourite band with my douchbag attitude. I'm so glad that I don't see any value in today's media because I can't get my head out of my ass long enough to care about anything that's even remotely different to what I grew up with. I'm just thrilled that I know what REAL music is despite music being completely subjective to interpretation and if you smash a keyboard randomly that would still be music because music is more than my very very shallow understanding of it. It makes me ecstatic to know that despite not knowing anything about music theory I am determined that I know everything there is to know about music because I HAVE THE BEST TAST IN MUSIC AND YOUNG PEOPLE THESE DAYS JUST DONT GET IT. and this I know for a fact even though I've no idea what young people are listening to these days or why

You forgot about the 89,000 in Philadelphia. They also made $127,000,000. However, where did the money go? Up to 63 million pounds went to political and military support for the Ethiopian rebels. Another article says the BBC found that just 5% of Live Aid and Band Aid actually made it to the starving people in Ethiopia. Most of the money raised was diverted to buy weapons and support. Very tragic and sadness and anger for everyone who donated their time or talent and money in donations to see most of it misappropriated. Made me kind of sick to read how the good people of the event got screwed by the bad.

Keep in mind that this was an all day concert. Each band had a 20 minute set and was played in London England and Philadelphia PA. It was broadcast all over the world with billions of people watching it on tv. Queen's performance was televised via satellite to Philadelphia so that crowd could watch the performance across the pond! Only ONE performer played at both! Phil Collins performed in London then hopped on a plane to Philadelphia, then took a helicopter to the arena. Since England is 5 hours ahead of the east coast, it was doable. Although there were many bands, it has been said by many that Queen stole the show and that no one wanted to follow them after their performance.

It cut off because this video wanted to skip Freddie's voice voice having a small blip on the final "champions" of the song. Other videos show it - it really isn't that bad, and considering he supposedly was dealing with a throat ailment, I think it highlights how well he kept his voice going until the very end of the song.

Oh man! I will never *ever* forget watching this historic concert for the first time. The summer of 1985 was hotter than usual and July 13 was no exception. It was in the mid 90s and very muggy. We did not have air conditioning and I usually would have spent the day in the pool like I did most days that summer. But not that day. I didn't care how sweltering it was in that house, nothing was dragging me away from that TV. I sat there for hours hating the fact that i was only 12 and couldn't be in London with what, at the time, seemed to be half the world. At that age I knew I was watching something epic, but was still too young to fully appreciate the history unfolding before my eyes. I certainly understand and appreciate it now. Songs like Bohemian Rhapsody were so long radio didn’t want to give it a chance and later MTV took Queen off after video of I Want to Break Free … Queen was really upset because they made MTV take off. Live Aid was July 1985. He finally went to a doctor and was diagnosed April 1987.... 2 years AFTER Live Aid.
