Thank you for this coverage, for those of us overseas, and unable to attend in person, it was greatly appreciated, and even though there is no commentary, you certainly did not only the USS New Jersey the justice she so rightly deserves, but also to the work of all involved on board, on the tugs and shoreside, as it took many many hands to make the whole operation possible, and what a brilliant job they all did, including the crew on the helicopter, thank you as well, job well done. It's down at the bow because of the Ballast, if they didn't ballast the bow then they would have had issues with putting her on the keel blocks as the Iowa class are all stern heavy. It's sort of an optical deception. The ship coming out of drydock was ballasted with 2,000 tons of water to get within 3.8 feet of level trim, which is a requirement to enter or leave the drydock and to sit down on the blocks evenly. The boottopping is applied so that when all that ballast is pumped out, and the ship is riding about 10 feet higher at the bow than the stern (since there's no fuel, ammo, supplies, personnel, etc on board), it still visually "looks" like it's floating level when moored at the museum pier on the waterfront.
