Riding switch on a snowboard is crucial for stomping your first 180s, learning to fakie out of features and navigating terrain on the mountain. Nev helps Austin on terrain he feels comfortable with for his first run and gives tips and tricks on how to get your weight over your front foot and stresses the importance of using your upper body to ride in alignment. Follow along as Nev takes Austin down the mountain and improves his riding in just one run!

Man, this guy is so clear and constructive in his instructions, at the same time detailed and empathetic in his perception of where the learning riders progression and learning zone is. Wish i had gotten this kind of instruction when i was learning this, i would have progressed a lot faster. Best snowboarding content on RU-vid, hats off

It's amazing how something that is completely second nature can feel so WRONG and alien. I've got hundreds and hundreds of days under my belt and 3 turns of switch riding is enough to make me feel like a complete beginner.

This is me. Yep. Definitely. But this year i'm about to change it. I never gave it too much effort, and I regret that now. Time to change it up. Already on my longboard here in the streets i'm practicing switch, just to get my brain to 180 and make it realize we're really doing this :-D

Just found this channel today. I'm currently teaching my 4 year old to ride. I've been riding since around 1992. I've learned a lot in just a few videos here and look forward to getting on the slopes with my son this weekend. This video series is so good for a rider who knows what to do but not why you do it. Thanks a lot Nev! You're awesome.

No excuses - you will be embaraced again at lifts, falling constantly with one foot strapped and riding at the speed of snail while your friends are having fun but it will be worth it. Eventually.
