Completely random but I myself am a Gay Homosexual and have adored this channel that you two created. I've watched films I had never seen such as serial mom, to wong foo & mommie dearest and ended up adoring those cult classics. I've watched all of your older videos as well as newer ones and never realized that y'all had a podcast which felt like hitting the jackpot of content to get me through these long days at Amazon 😂. Thank Y'all for making reviewing movies not only educational but entertaining as well and I adore y'all's love and gives me hope that I too can find my partner in crime in this mercurial queer community. Sidenote: I'm watching Rupaul's drag race all stars 7 for the first time because of y'all's podcast overview of each season. Keep up the great work gentleman.

Love Stir of Echoes. Love when you say *girl* 💗 Nick saying "Reclaiming my time" was great. I would also want to call in sick after I dream about working. 46:40

Damn can't believe I missed this live stream. Glad I watched it now. With what you said about solutions to problems, my favourite phrase to people who complain and not do anything about it is "We're done here". As always, love all your videos. I can listen to you talking about food for hours or ranting about anything, everything you guys say keeps me entertained. Keep this content coming!

Ok I'm late because I just watched this movie for the first time over the weekend but I think the wife's scene where she asks why he hasn't been in her dreams was deeper than we thought. We see in the whole movie that Paul considers himself a rational thinker. He rejects the idea that these college kids have trauma and rejects these people's lived experiences (having the nightmares) because it doesn't align with what he thinks and he sees himself as. He thinks of his inaction as morally neutral, but what I think we are supposed to understand is that he's actually kind of selfish and egotistical. It allows him to stay in a space where he can consider himself the perpetual victim. He likes the idea of people dreaming about him and it bothers him how he's being perceived in those dreams but it doesn't raise any red flags to him at all that the most important woman in his life, his wife, doesn't dream about him at all. And then when she tells him her David Byrne fantasy, he laughs it off. I think she even said something like, "what? do you want me to say you have a big c*ck or something?" I think his whole arc was how he doesn't stop to consider others' feelings, but when he's being unfairly vilified, he wants everyone to understand how he's feeling. The whole time that he felt like he was a loser for being anonymous and unremarkable, he failed to realize the privilege he had being a white, financially comfortable man with a good job and family and stable life. Then in the end when he talks to his wife the last time, he STILL hasn't learned his lesson because he has that moment with her where he daydreams that they embrace, in reality he STILL doesn't take action. Instead he's relegated to spending his days trying to get into her dreams when he failed to appreciate being in her real life while they were still married. On top of that, she may have wanted to be protected in the David Byrne fantasy but the real protection was that she wanted him to quiet the scandal in real life for the sake of their family. Again, his inaction (which he thinks he's entitled to and morally neutral, is his downfall). It's too late, and that's why he's floating away.

Love your reviews, and I’m excited to see this in theaters and discuss it with friends as it seems like it’ll be a fun watch with a lot of food for thought, even if it falls short in some areas. Unrelated question that I’m very curious about after looking at this video for quite a while: who made the artwork on the wall behind you? I really enjoy it and would like to look up the artist. Thanks!

I have a theory about the last act of Dream Scenario. I think the Norio was Nick Cage's own invention/dream. He perhaps invented it as a coping mechanism or way of blending in once again. I also think he's dreaming after he gets hit in the head at that book signing. In his dying moments while wearing this device we never see in the real world, he visits his wife, who may be suicidal since we see her in a burning bed, and gives her a final heartfelt goodbye before finally ascending. Perhaps that wasn't the filmmaker's intention, but that's what makes the most sense to me.

Nick Cage is so prolific in his roles, sometimes he turns in a brilliant performance unlike Samuel L Jackson who always just plays himself

Put some respect on Xanthippe's name! You liked Dylan Gelula in Shithouse back in 2020 as well.

I love Stir of Echos! However Nick, the reason Kevin Bacon dreams about losing his front tooth is because the "ghost girl" busted her tooth out when the boys pushed her to the floor, It's the same tooth. Go back and watch again! LOL

Up until a point, into your comments, a mixed bags of eccentric people, and their personal coat tail riding dreams fantasy* was a theme forming! 🧐Then, when Joseph opines with, until the film ends, the wife's affair seems ongoing...Too much 'fantasy' for a black comedy for me may be! 😉😆
