I think the step siblings things is a little weird but they weren’t raised together as children so that makes it better 😂

@@Lilianamarie999Well he can't be that much older, he was in college. I got plenty of family who started college in their teens, basically, straight outta highschool. So, the age difference may only be a couple years. As far as the step sibling thing, they weren't raised together and the marriage was very short. So, they really didn't have that family bond type thing going on. Heck, Will Smith technically was gonna marry his step sister in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.😂 Remember Lisa's dad and Will's mom got married making them step siblings.

I remember the step sibling thing. Maybe no one talked bout it because they’re ex-step siblings. Their parents were married and then got divorced. I thought it was weird that Josh still came around while their parents weren’t together anymore.

I’m a Gen X Black woman who grew up middle class. Seeing Stacey Dash, Donald Faison as well as the types of sub groups that were fairly representative of high school at that time. With wry and intelligent or understated humor and interesting references….the representation of attainable wealth with 90201 already must see tv for everyone. This movie was huge at that time for a good reason. The themes that were explored were important. Including a teen girl who wasn’t trying to lose her virginity was so relatable. This movie may not age well for a first time viewer. But at its time this movie deserves all the love and nostalgia some people have for it now.

The movie “Emma” starring Gwenyth Paltrow, Toni Colette, and Ewan Mcgregor is worth a watch if you’re interested in how Clueless was adapted from the original source material.
@RJ-nm6qt
@RJ-nm6qt 11 месяцев назад
The step sibling romance is an invention of “Clueless” btw. In “Emma” he is just her brother in law’s brother / her sister’s husband’s brother and I don’t believe that familial connection is even mentioned in the Gwenyth Paltrow movie

@@s.hopkins4490 well things were different back then. People only lived to be like 40. Besides the guy who played Knightley wasn’t that much older than Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie and their relationship didn’t resemble grooming

I think Dionne tolerated Cher being a little dumb and problematic. Dionne was more experienced, trendier and prettier (imo), but Cher was Queen B because she had a certain privilege that Dionne couldn't access. Just my thoughts.

One of my favorites. Not just for the outfits. I should've hated Cher but I rooted for her ditzy, shallow behind. Except for the step-brother-lover part. That's always going to be weird😅 Dionne and Murray 🤦🏽

The wealth is definitely there and realistic. The main characters were more Hilary Banks rich than Paris Hilton rich, and they were not the only rich kids in the school. Cher, Dionne, Amber, the Asian girl, and Elton represented one type of rich kid. In a place like Beverly Hills, even the baggy pants skater kids that Cher didn't like or hang out with were probably wealthy. They attended a public school and there are apartments zoned for Beverly Hills schools. The poorer kids would've been like Natasha Lyonne's character from The Slums of Beverly Hills. And again, this is the sort of crowd Hilary Banks would hang with. So no, they wouldn't be mature, smart, surprisingly likable Elle Woods types but they'd TRY to be.

I think the idea is that Josh goes back to the house under the guise of being close to/wanting to see the dad, but is really just there cause he likes/wants to spend time with Cher. The dad doesn’t spend much time with Josh so it’d be odd that he was really there to see him at times he’s not free

59:03 sometimes they do and sometimes they use digital body doubling which i recently found out and is wild. tying to this back to Game of Thrones, There's a plot point where a character has to walk through the city naked (Circei) and they show full frontal but Lena Headey came out and said another woman did the filming and they added her head in in post because she wasn't feeling being naked (or something along those lines)
