Joe and Kenny are the same age (both were born in 1977) and they are two of the best guitar players on these days. They are keeping The good and old Rock and Roll alive and well.
Joe is really the best guitarist in the whole world. He leads such an interesting life. Thanks for sharing so much about yourself. Luv, luv luv you guys in this interview. And you're friends telling interesting stories and talking guitar stuff.
Healthy eating and staying physically active is why I feel like I'm 30. I'm going to be 70 in December. Keep it up guys. And keep bringing us that incredible music you play.
"This is my last goodbye" is one of the best bluesy song ever. The balance of acoustic and electric guitars, together with the soulful voice. Beautiful.
GUITAR PLAYERS.....THESE GUYS ARE GREAT AMBASSADORS...I AM A LIFE-LONG PLAYER AND A PICKY NERD ABOUT ALL THINGS GUITAR..... AMPS, FRET WIRE, TUBES, FINGERBOARDS, INTONATION ON AND ON...WHAT A PLEASURE WATCHING THESE GUITAR VIRTUOSOS. GREAT JOB JOE AND KWS. THANKS TO BOTH.
Uhhuuu ... what two mega rock / blues heroes, Joe and Kenny and ... nice to see you and to listen to your musical connections, experiences and great knowledge ... I hear whatever I understand ... am keep learning, not the greatest linguistic genius

Another great interview, this is the real Keeping It Real with Joe Bonamassa, starring Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Kenny and Joe you are so right on about a live concert is a spiritual thing for a lot of people. When the band is hot and everything is going great you can just feel it in the air all around you. To me it is a gift from GOD and you are really blessed if you can just let go and let the music take you where it will. Joe I hope you got my message on Instagram about D.G.’s tele up for sale. I know you think the world of him. Thanks.
After watching this.... and the chat about Stephen Stills, I went back and listened to the master. If you’ve never heard “Black Queen”, do yourself a favor. I’ve seen KWS 13 times, Joe 4. Never disappointed with either. Was great a couple years ago seeing Kenny play other guitars for some different sounds. A Tele, LP, and a Firebird.
Hey Joe! Heard your interview on Carolla and we started checking out your music. I don't know how we haven't aware of it until now. New super fans here! SUPER JAZZ HANDS! 🎸

I've been a fan of Joe and Kenny for years, and have seen both of you many times. There's a show that I attended from both that turned out to be very memorable acoustically and otherwise. But--- KWS was touring in the 90s with the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page. It was great to see Page, but quite honestly I was there to see KWS and his band. - The 1st time I saw Joe was many years ago, someplace in Maine. Your music couldn't have come at a better time for me. I remember that show like it was yesterday. One of your acoustic guitars broke a string, and you handed the guitar to a kid in the 1st or 2nd row. That in itself was pretty darn cool.
Great interview...big fan of you both! Kenny...I have tickets to see you and Samantha Fish at Town Hall in NYC...waiting for a 3rd reschedule date...I hope it comes in 2021!
Great Artists like Joe and Kenny should do small venue gigs to get warmed up after all this blows over? Would love to see the most awesome “Bar band” in the world! Bar gig, shot HD and broadcasted...lucky few who get be there! Live at the El Macombo V2
Gentlemen, thank you both for igniting this old soul. At the risk of appearing over~zealous I must tell you Gents...the moment you mentioned the 1961 White Strat and it being 'hard to handle' ; you dudes are getting wonderful energy back from all these beautiful artists from their own instruments, I believe. That's so cool, I'm an old hippie...and I love the receptive souls that create and realize roots. Thank you! I would love to just touch that Strat, y'know like a piece of jewelry that someone that's deceased, a watch etc. You guys are so much more balanced generally than some from back in the day. Humble suggestion, dont jump back into gigging publicly please. Continue innovating entertainment & performing. You gents are so wise! Congratulations & kudos from the Crazy Crow from Colorful Colorado! Keep rockin' souls!
Yes, very sad. I met him a few times after seeing him play, and he was so friendly and so inspiring. Such a Warm Gentleman. What a Great Man. Condolences to his family and may the Saints go Marching On in Heaven with the Great Bryan Lee 💖🎸🕊️
I was just thinking the same thing. These two are easily the two most important blues if not rock artists of the last 25 years and they’re just so humble. They also acknowledged Paul Rodgers and Stephen Stills who to me are just so good and have always been underrated
@@firstfret9904 i pride myself on listening to try and listen to everything but always appreciate when someone says you have to listen to this or listen to that. I owned over 6,000 albums prior to iTunes. My policy on buying on other people’s opinions was as follows: if the referrer owned a lot of music and they indicated that this was their favourite artist or album, I would buy it. If they had a small collection of say less than a 100 albums, I generally ignored their advice. For the record, Marillion and the Marshall Tucker Band are my personal favourites. In the case of Marillion, if it wasn’t for a guy with a huge collection insisting that I get into them, that they are the best, I would not have given them a serious listen. If you have an artist or artists in mind that I should try, please advise.
The live show is over with guys you can thank your wonderful Chinese friends and your liberal government for that keep jamming and pray love bolth of you guys thanks for everything.
Great interview gentlemen! I'll be the first to see you when you're able to play live again. Cardboard cutout lol Joe...The one that you signed for me at Hampton Beach Casino stills scares me every time I walk into that room!
I never heard a reference to SRV, who started the popularity of this kind of music way before KWS or JB was popular. He deserved the props for bringing blues rock to the people and to these future guitar stars.
Joe, I’m a big fan. What about Philip Sayse, or John Mooney, the New Orleans slide player? One of the blues greats in my opinion, who was mentored by Son House.
It wasn’t easy to get KWS Strats that were only available on his website -the ones with the car stripes etc -in the U.K. . Both Joe and KWS have made custom shop and cheaper Epiphone and MIM guitars but as KWS says it would be so much better to walk into a store and try one , especially if you were going to buy a Jeff Beck , Mark Knopfler etc or one of these guys special edition guitars .
Joe, at the 32 minute mark and your discussion: look at what was happening in the 40's and 50's when bluegrass artist's like Earl Scruggs and Lester Flat would be playing at radio stations at 7 a.m. it's been this way for many years!
Awesome interview KWS very grounded and down to Earth to Joe as always continent interviewer I’m not sure if these guys know but Stephen Stills also played the stellar bass part on “why does love got to be so sad” on the original Derek and the Dominoes Layla album . Not sure why or what was wrong with Carl Radle, but that’s what Bobby Whitlock recently revealed.
You know Joe, I often use your interviews to judge Blues and Country artist's characters that I don't know well. I mean... I've heard of everybody, I just haven't necessarily seen them in any interviews. I have to say, there hasn't been anybody you've had on that wasn't cool or had a huge ego. I'm sure you know who's cool and who isn't before you even give them a platform so, I'll just assume from now on that everyone you have on is the real deal. 👍
Lol… That moment of discomfort when Joe talks about how musicians shouldn’t do “live” shows online in their homes and Kenny just streamed “While we cry, quarantined version”
Rick would be a great interview for Joe because he's had a long and varied career in music, he's a mean guitarist, and his last album ('The Snake King') is bluesy as well as being rather good.
