In today's homeschooling video I thought it would be fun to do a little "live" lesson for 5th grade, using only Evan Moor workbooks! We love using workbooks in our homeschool because they're inexpensive and open-and-go. Nobody does that better than Evan Moor and we are currently using five of their workbooks for writing, spelling, science, vocabulary and geography!

Hey guys! I thought it would be fun to show you all of the Evan Moor workbooks we are currently using, or have used, and how easy they are to use! This is especially helpful right now, with summer coming up, since most of these books would be perfect to use for summer review! Do you use any workbooks in your homeschool?

Your glasses are fabulous on you!! Can never go wrong with Evan Moor. It's not your typical workbook of just pages and pages of mundane work. I had surgery 2 years ago and was bed bound for awhile, thank goodness for walkie talkies. Otherwise we'd be yelling across the house "What....What did you say?". LOL!

I’ve loved using the spelling book with my daughter from your recommendation. Since she’s doing remote learning this year they’ve dropped spelling from the curriculum so I’ve been using the Evan Moore! They’ve also pretty much dropped science too they have the kids watch videos so I watch them with her and make sure she’s doing the work in her notebook. We’ve been using little passports science kits too my daughter really loves them you might want to look into them! My daughter needs help with writing. I might get the writing book for the summer. She qualified for honors ELA but since her writing needs help her teacher said she should drop down to regular ELA for 6th grade. Reading is her strong suit!

I hear from a lot of people that they're using Evan Moor to supplement public school! I think Daily 6 Trait Writing would be a perfect fit for summer and the lessons only take 5-10 minutes!

Hi, this will be my first year homeschooling 3 boys. I’m so confused on where to start? Is there not a complete curriculum bundle I can buy? Would all these Evan Moore books work as complete curriculum for the year? Please let me know I can’t find any videos that are just straight out here get these and homeschool lol 😂

We use online resources/classes (outschool), library books/dvds, Evan Moor workbooks, and the real world (nature, scouts, dance classes, violin lessons, ext) for all of our teaching. We don't use any other curriculum. Works great for us. And yes if you to to their website you find a complete years buddle by grad. We never buy that many books at once though

I haven't used Vocabulary Fundamentals so I can't give my opinion on that but we are loving Daily Academic Vocabulary!

How are these Evan Moors working with you using BJU English 5??

@@eo6357 We don't normally use the Grammar and Punctuation at the same time as BJU English but when we had taken a little break from BJU English earlier this school year, it was a great stand-alone way to keep up with grammar and punctuation. It would also be perfect for summer review. Now that we're back using BJU Press English, the Evan Moor writing, spelling and vocabulary workbooks are perfect additions to it!

Hi Becky! I had a question about the EM spelling! My older daughters (grades 7 and 6 this coming year) really need a spelling curriculum this year as we have tried weekly spelling lists without an actual workbook and it just isn’t working for us. They are both advanced readers and are up to speed at pretty much every subject but spelling, which is just atrocious! Would you recommend picking up these workbooks at a very early grade level and trying to get them up to speed over the next few years in that way? I’m just afraid if I grab a sixth grade book it’s going to be too much for them because this one subject has just slipped through the cracks for too many years now. Thanks for the great content. I respect how you’ve built your channel (without depending on filming your kids) so much.

Go to the Evan Moor website and do a flip-through of the levels of spelling. That's the best way for you to see each page, the list of words and be able to decide which level you should start at. I hope that helps!

See former comment. Our granddaughter is also deaf in one ear. She probably needs to read your lips, so you need to talk with your head up higher. It seems that you can speak to one student at a time by video, but I think that you are just doing a video for parents, but her mom is deaf in both ears.

How is the Evan Moor Math grade 4 working out as an extension of Teaching Textbooks Math grade 5?? The styles seem quite different. I used both for my 5th grader too. Thanks

We just use it for extra practice or for a day she might not do TT. The styles are very different but since we usually use a lower level of the EM math workbooks, it's mostly just review of things she already learned in TT.

Apparently, you do not use videos to teach homeschooling children. I need a workbook AND VIDEO of the lessons as our grandaughter cannot seem to learn by workbook alone because of many learning disabilities. She likes the videos though.
