My folks had a GREEN one! I was like three years old in 1970 but I remember this car vividly! Way to go Jeff. I did not drive it however...as they traded it in like in 1978 I think. It was a boat like vehicle. My mom felt so safe driving with me in my car seat. Okay...yes they had car seats in the 1970s. Wait, I did drive it....I was sitting in my dad’s lap and held the steering wheel with my dad. He’d turn on our street and I’d feel like I got to drive 3 whole blocks. I didn’t realize he was still driving....I thought I was so cool.

Am i the only one who loves jeff's videos so much that i don't even read the titel i just clike on it??? Cuse all of his vids are good.

I remember going to church luncheons with my grandmother in the early 80s in a car very much like that. Seeing the back seat made the memories come flooding back.

I remember driving my parent's 1973 Oldsmobile 98 Regency to my Sr. Prom in '79. That car had a 455, and had me an 18 yr old driving it....yes, even though it was HUGE it would fly lol. I had my date, my best friend and his date in it, and there was room for at least 1 more couple in it lol. Of course they would have had to sit in the back because the car had massive bucket seats in it. It had the pillow fabric upholstery too boot. The car was in that fabulous gold exterior. They let me drive it instead of my beat up '69 LTD that had the measly little 351 engine lol. However, that was an upgrade from the 1970 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon they gifted me with at 16.....equipped with a bashed driver's front side quarter panel, beat out with a ball peen hammer lol. Hell I was just thrilled to have my own car, and being a Station Wagon I always had it loaded with buddies lol. I remember it had that fake wood on blue exterior! The car did however have a 400 big block engine it. I have NO idea how I never received a single speeding ticket until I was in my mid 20s lol. My parents did however buy me a much better car for me to go off to College in. A much more reliable 1969 Chevelle....wasn't an SS however, but it had a 402 engine. I loved that car...especially the iconic horse shoe shifter. So many great times in my youth.

Those were the days. Jack Lord drove a 1974 Mercury Marquis Brougham in the TV show Hawaii 5 - 0.

I don't Jeff Dunham will read this, but I just found his channel, he/you are more down to earth than anyone I have paid attention to, you get excited over the stuff that regular folks get excited about, the Marquis is an awesome car, can't wait to see it when you are done with it, the cool cars that you have in your collection are amazing. The way I have seen ( in video) you with your family is awesome, but the way you act in video with your audience is so awesome, I really feel like you are talking to me. Will watch many more videos.

I think he meant 429 and not 428. 429 was standard and 460 was optional for that big Merc. 1970 was the last year for the 428 FE.

Perfect car for gettin frisky in either the front or back seat. Change the doors to suicide doors.. tilt steering, cruise controll on the wheel, it was da Bomb.

What a great collection of cars, took me back to my years of cruising in cars with my buddies and chicks.

Had a 71 LTD 2 door, 400 cu. in., could fit six people in it and still have room, loved it! Drove the hell out of it, so comfortable to drive, camped in the rain sleeping across the seats with plenty of space to spare.

Wow, my cousin had that exact Trans Am back in the day! I was only 11 years old at the time. The black Smokey and The Bandit Trans Am was the thing then, but I totally loved the blue Trans Am! I still do! Gorgeous machine!

That’s an awesome first car to have. My dad is close to retiring he just bought his dream car that we’re both working on currently. A 1971 mach 1 mustang 429SCJ. But I ventured out to the Midwest one weekend looking to give him a surprise when his 60th birthday rolled around. I found his first car which was actually my grandmothers car. 1972 Ford Maverick, yellow in color with a small inline 6 six under the hood. I bought it off the owner for only 3000$ it’s in quite rough shape but I’m slowly restoring it too it’s former glory with an extra surprise under the hood. A supercharged 351 Cleveland V8 currently sitting at around 450 hp.

My parents had a 69 olds 98 recency with a 455 . I drove at like 17 years old. Which would've been 1988. It was a lead sled

The 1969 thru 1972 came with 351, 400, 429, and 460

Started with a towel ended up with a puppet.

That was when luxury cars floated down the street. They were a comfortable ride.

The perfect car for getting friends into the drive-in. My first car to drive was a 1964 Olds Super 88.

Also getting ready to restore 1971 LTD Convertible owned since 1979. In storage. The steering wheels look about the same with the cruise controls. Congrats! Stay safe in the Robinson.

Beautiful Trans Am. I had the 1978 Gold Edition Trans Am and a 1973 Formula Firebird. Wish I still had them.

My first car was a Chevy Corsica. No amount of nostalgia will convince me to buy another one.

I was just ready to type a comment about the PT cruiser when you explained it.

MY first car--bought with my own money, $125--was a 64 Falcon I bought in 72. three speed on the column with a small str8 six engine and it was the perfect car for a 15 yr old kid--those old Falcons were simple and damned near indestructable We lived in the hills of AR with old dirt back roads and I drve like a maniac--jumping ditches, whatever. The car I drove before that one belonged to my dad and was the first car I drove as my own--a 62 Chrysler New Yorker station wagon. U think that Marquix was big? ROFL!! That Chrysler was HUGE. 413 V8, pushbutton automatic, electric everything and was white, so we called it El Tanko Blanco! The frame had been warped when my Dad bought it so he chained the front end to a tree and then went into reverse at full throttle to staighten out the frame. He made me quit driving it when one of the front wheels was coming loose from the frame. I loved that car but loved the Falcon more, cuz it was MINE!

My parents had a 68 Merc Marquis COUPE... yes a 2 door with a trunk so large you can stand up a full sized samsonite!

The first car i bought (in 2015 when I was 17) was a 1970 Ford Thunderbird Sedan. Suicide doors! I have a few videos of it on my channel. It's a shame I had to get rid of it, but that Iowa rust man. I think it sat outside with the windows down, and got water in it because all the footwells were gone, but there was good metal with the original metallic pea green paint still on it a few inches up from the rust. That thing was a hoot and a half. 429 Thunderjet, 11:1 compression, had a 600 holley and MSD ignition and a freakin Joe Dirt gas pedal when I bought it for $300. Had to get rid of it Last May for financial reasons, plus I broke it. Bent a pushrod doing burnouts. Shame, as I just spent $500 redoing the front suspension. Oh well. Cool car Mr. Dunham. :D

Its funny you bring this up because I have been getting reawakened and fascinated by these land yachts. It probably started cause Ive been watching Hawaii 50 with the Mercury that Steve McGarrit drove. Its especially interesting because no one else cares about them and they are cheap as a result.

First Car was a 1956 Pontiac Star Chief. Built like your tank. Woulda lasted forever if I still had it.

My dad had the exact same one but silver than painted green but loved those cars, room, engine, those where cars not put, puts...!!!! The character I would say, Walter!!! Also, he had 1977 green one, that was a car!!!
