As an INDEPENDENT, I am completely in the anti-Trump, anti-MAGA, anti-authoritarian, and anti-insanity camp. I will VOTE AGAINST every single candidate on the ticket who has NOT publicly denounced Trump and his movement. I suggest ALL other folks do the same. The poor Sandy Hook parents just want the hate to stop. They lost their precious 6 year old children to brutal violence, then have had to deal with Jones and his follower's attacks as a second attack. It breaks my heart for each of them.
I read the book about Sandy Hook. It of course described the day, but most of it was involved with Alex Jones vicious lies and the terrible abuse and terrorizing by Jones' followers inflicted on those poor parents. Dispicable isn't strong enough to describe how odious these people are.

The debate should go on "rain or shine" meaning that if one backs out the other gets the entire time to say what their agenda is going to be and say why you should vote for them over the other person.

Welcome to the club, I've been scared of DJT's politics for... 8 years, and especially, if he wins, I'll be even more terrified. You want to know why? I'm trans-female. I was already depressed when Trump started winning against Hillary, as in "winning debates," to me that was the warning bell and I've had to be terrified with copium for 8 years and every single thing DJT did while he was in office all I could think was "Don't mess with the VA, don't mess with the VA, just leave it as-is, don't touch it. Why? Because I am Medically Retired and put as "unemployable" which gives a status equal to 100%, meaning, literally, if project 2025 starts messing with the VA, I'm SCREWED! All my Doctors are VA, like, my entire livelihood rode on the 2016 election, the 2020 election, and now, it's riding on the 2024 election. I'm *HOPING* he'll loose, but still, my only other plan is simply that they don't do anything to the VA in any fashion... because I COULD end up without pay as that's something MAGA Republicans and Trump like doing, not paying anyone.

And if Trump brings up Hunter, Joe should reply that not only is Hunter not running for office, nor did he ever have any position in Joe’s administration (unlike Trump’s nepotistic family), but he has shown plenty of remorse for his actions and he’s been making amends since (unlike Trump). Also, Hunter is not insulting and threatening the special counsel, the judge or the jury (unlike Trump).

He was so pleased with himself when he invited Bill Clinton's "accusers" to sit in his debate section while he harassed Hillary. If that happened to him, he'd put in a call to Seal Team Six.
If President Biden refuses to do the debate with Trump, provided Trump shows up, if the President refuses, that'll be ammunition for Trump and his magat followers. I follow all the Meidas podcast. My 40 old son who has to labor to survive with back issues just views our system is unjustified. So I told him about the debate. He couldn't believe that ftrump can even be allowed to debate.
Back when he wouldn't let people on a cruise ship disembark because it would cause HIS number of cases would go up. He off-loaded the COVID briefings to Pence and then suddenly TFG reclaimed the briefings. I assumed it was because the daily updates were getting GOOD RATINGS. Seems he didn't care about us then, just our votes. He delayed the processing of the relief checks so that he could sign the checks and claim credit for the idea. And, you can bet he'll insist that his VP pick prep for a debate.

I came to the US in my late 20s. The first major shock for me was how "unanalyzing" americans were. Politicians would be spewing outright lies, and around me I would hear comments that indicated acceptance. It didn't take me long to see trump for what he really is. I would say he was mafya type, a character I had learned of through novels, and Hitler type, and would be told that was too far.

As an Australian 🇦🇺 looking in at America’s shit show, I always have trouble trying to understand their relationship with their politics. Thanks Anthony, for helping me to learn that I’m not alone in thinking that this situation in America is just pure insanity. When I hear citizens of the USA stating that they are living in “the greatest Nation that the World has ever seen”, I am reminded of the advice that my father gave me when I first attended an art gallery. “Stand back from the painting son, you are too close to appreciate the true picture”. I’m quite familiar with New York Military Academy - I always wondered (before Trump entered politics) what happened in his life that his parents had to send him to a military school (a type of reform school)… then I read Mary Trump’s book… he was COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL…. totally OBNOXIOUS. Nothing worked ….
One thing that really bugs me is how people outside of the US perceive the country. They do not understand that the US is a loose affiliation of states that function independently of each other. New York is not the same as Alabama or is Oregon, where I live, similar to Texas but we all get painted with the same brush. This has never been more apparent than now. Blue states have become bluer and red states more red because of that we here in Oregon have a lot to lose. We care about abortion rights so much we were the first state to put it in the state constitution along with universal health care and a ban on banning books. We also have enacted ground breaking environmental laws nor do we have a tax structure that favors the wealthy.

I agree with Anthony and Hilary that debating trump only legitimizes a candidate who should be totally illegitimate. And it's not as if we don't know both candidates very well already. But I do understand that Biden probably feels a need to refute the notion, held by far too many potential voters, that Biden is doddering and senile. We're in a murky place for sure.
Biden is coherent what you're saying makes as much sense as not throwing Trump in jail because of the fear the MAGAs will riot well they're going to riot any way when Biden beats him in November so what's the difference?

What's terrifying is now he's trying to avoid prison, he's promising everything and anything to everyone to get their vote- no taxes on tips, to big oil guys & other billionaires huge tax cuts again, dropping regulations. Everything's for sale. It'll work for many. If he gets in, our democracy & our economy are screwed.
