Shelbie, My thoughts and prayers are with you, the injured and their loved ones, and the community in general. This was quite a tragic situation and then watching the trial and experiencing the full on NONSENSE and belligerence of DB, I was so very frustrated and upset! I am SO VERY GLAD that the Jurors brought back a swift and just verdict so now all affected by DB's action can start the slow and painful healing. Again, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the good AND respectable people of Waukesha. Your strength of the community shown through throughout the trial regardless of what distractions and disruption DB did throughout the trial! Sincerely & Respectfully, Pia Pill

I think it was sooooooo clever on DA Opper & her teams part to let DB do a closing “plea.” Im not going to call it an argument. Although I believe he would have been convicted anyway, it was definitely the last nail in the coffin to hear him pout and then admonish the jury to “do the right thing.” The only thing I wish he would have received while he was there is a crown for being the Failed King of Gaslighting.

Dave’s Lemonade did a 3 hr documentary type video that really shed light on the WHY. I finally get why and what DB meant about us not knowing the full story. He was sitting in jail for 3 weeks before the parade tragedy on charges stemming from hitting Erika with his car. For 3 weeks he was calling her constantly (there were 100’s of calls) harassing her to tell detectives this was all a lie and to refuse to give them her medical records. He threatened her m telling her he was facing 60 years and would die in prison because of something she did (that’s how he thinks, SHE caused this). He finally made bail and the very next day he got her to tell her location and he went to confront her. So this incident was THREE WEEKS in the making, DB thinking his life was on the line all because of EP. The judge said she believed the intervention by Runkle & Kirby saved Erika’s life that day. DB spent 3 weeks “fighting for his life” and still couldn’t get Erika to recant. THAT is the rage they talked about. That’s why DB kept saying we didn’t understand the full story why he wa so fixated on Erika, in his mind this entire thing is her fault. He walked away from her got in his car that day understanding his life was over, she wasn’t going to recant he was getting those 60 years. And he drove like nothing mattered because his life as he saw it was over.

I’m re-watching this trial a year later and I agree 100%. At the beginning of the trial, they were having a hearing and DB said that he got cut off from using the internet at a certain time. He was saying it’s not fair because he only gets 2 hours and it cuts off at 8 or something. They found out about this Reddit post past 7 at night, so he got back to his cell pretty late. Then he shows up in the morning with these cases having been researched about compromised juries. He seemed prepared for it, and given his other antics, the fact that he tried to pull other stunts using his mother and others on the outside. It would be easy for his mother or his daughter or one of his kids mothers to make this post to help him, then once it was announced that the Sheriff’s office was investigating they decided to call it a prank and walk it back. He really lied and tried everything to get out of his consequences one last time.

But if you’re a lawyer who has read cases where there are successful appeals you know she was spot on. Any small mistake could give an opening to be exploited by the lawyer who will file his appeal. I agree. The lawtubers I watch all seemed to have very little patience for the judge. I still don't understand them having such a problem with judge Dorow. It's because of her and the prosecution that DB will have a beyond difficult time finding a valid reason for appeal. I also thought the prosecution coming up with the idea of trying to allow him to do a closing spoke volumes. They knew he was well on his way to forfeiting his right to do a closing. They could've sat back and let him lose the right, but they didn't. I think it showed great compassion for a man that didn't deserve any. I agree with EDB when she said the prosecution knew they had nothing to worry about no matter what he said. I fully believe they did it to mediate the situation and end this part of the process for the families of his victims and his victims as quickly as possible. It showed their true character and that they take their job of defending Waukesha very seriously. Having said all that those prosecutors and the courtroom staff deserve a long vacation. My eyes were opened to how judge treated Mr Brooks while the jury was out of the room” OH.REALLY!? How would you know how the judge treated Mr, Brooks while the jury, YOURSELF INCLUDED, was out of the room. You were not in the room when that happened so it is impossible for you to know how the Judge treated Mr Brooks while YOU were out of the room.

Hi Peter they said upon reviewing it the whole thing was posted when the jurors didn't have any electronics when they updated it to say it was a hoax. But she is having the law continue investigating the whole thing and it is now taken down.And agreed with your chat anyone watching the trial on tv could have written this whole thing.

My sister has that same SUV, same year, same color. The problem that caused the recall would not have caused this. It wasn't the accelerator, it was the throttle body. The problem with the throttle body caused difficulty accelerating, which my sister's had a problem with. It would not have caused unwanted or uncontrolled acceleration. Brooks doesn't know enough about cars to realize that it would do the exact opposite of what he was trying to imply it did

As a Ford owner under recall because my 2020 F 350 is under recall because the wiper arms might fly off I would like to know if that vehicle ever was fixed by the dealership. Just a little shady that a 2010 escape suddenly goes out of control in 2012 at just the worst time
@miathemouse5659
@miathemouse5659 Год назад
@@marktalsma2390 if you're asking about Brooks' SUV, it was inspected and a report was given to the prosecution. When he tried to bring up the recall in court, the prosecution shot him down, because the inspector had looked at that part, during the inspection. He found no issues, nor any sign of an issue with the throttle body. But again, the throttle body wouldn't have caused acceleration, so it was a stupid attempted defense. I was watching the trial live, when he brought that up, and immediately texted my mom about it. She works at a Ford dealership, in the parts department, so it's her job to order replacement parts when they handle recalls, and has been there for almost 20 years. When I told her what Brooks was saying regarding this part recall, she told me that sincerely hoped that got shot down, and hard.
@marktalsma2390
@marktalsma2390 Год назад
@@miathemouse5659 I can't stand Brooks he's murder. It would clear up some things if Ford could say the recall was done. I'm still waiting on my recall because of parts. I was told it's not a safety issue so don't worry if the wiper arm flies off as your going down the road in a rainstorm. I'm just saying if the recall was done Ford should have a record. And it should be in the record.
@marktalsma2390
@marktalsma2390 Год назад
@@miathemouse5659 I was also told they should have the parts by the summer and I'm still waiting
@miathemouse5659
@miathemouse5659 Год назад
@@marktalsma2390 Ford doesn't need to go on the record about the recall, first, because the inspection proved that the throttle body wasn't defective, and second because a defective throttle body would have caused difficulty accelerating, so a defective part wouldn't have contributed to car driving into people. If I'm not misremembering, the fact that it wouldn't have been a contributing factor was also brought up by the prosecution. As for your parts, recalls create backorders. I can't speak for every dealership, but the one my mom works at has been dealing with intermittent issues getting parts. My partner was in a car accident a week and a half ago, so his car is there. We were told late last week that the soonest we'll be getting it back will be the end of November, with a warning that supply issues could push it well into December. It's frustrating, I get it, but you're not alone.

I missed the live stream! This must have been an exhausting experience for everyone sitting in that court during this trial and particularly exhausting for the judge. Even if we all would have probably wished her to put her foot down and stop this man's "shenanigans", obviously she knew better how to manage him and she must have been very focused on the main goal: getting to the finish line and doing so in time. My respect and admiration for her patience and skills.
