I think this entire case is a lot simpler than most people think. If you take all the sensational religious aspect away, what you have is two people who wanted to be together at any cost. We have a woman who didnt want to be a mother, she didn't want to be "tied down". She wanted to be free, she wanted this fairytale like life she dreamed up in her head. They had to kill Tammy to free up Chad, and they had to kill Charles because they knew they would never get away with killing the children as long as Charles was around. As a bonus, Lori thought they would come into all this money to live their fairy-tale life (from Charles's life insurance). Once Charles was out of the way, there was no other parent in the way of them getting rid of the kids. They didnt need to kill Colby or Chad's kids, as they were adults living their own lives... they weren't "in the way" of their life together. I even question the cause of Lori's brothers death. Seems like they may have used him to do their dirty work, and when they thought he might crack and talk to the cops, he also needed to go.

Nothing the defense does can erase that two little ones where buried in his back yard.

I hope Colby has a lot of help and I wish him all the healing. He has been through unthinkable things.

He was 22 and 23 then….i still help support my 22 year old son and my GRANDDAUGHTER and MY DAUGHTER IN LAW. Not bothered by that at all. Sorry. My 22 yr old is still my baby, no matter the age. And trust me when I tell you, 22 years old is still very young.

Kudos to Colby for testifying in his Mom’s trial as well as CD’s trial! 🙌🏽 That takes a lot of strength and courage. I really hope that he has the love and support he needs to heal from everything he has been through and I wish him all of the best. 💗

There's a HUGE difference between a dude starting a relationship before the ink is dry on his divorce paperwork and someone who flies to another state to hide an affair from his trusting wife back home. I think everyone sees that.

I keep feeling like Prior is proving the conspiracy, not really taking Chad out of the equation.

It's interesting that Prior is pushing Colby about getting money from his mom when Chad's adult children lived with him and it seems like he was taking care of them financially.

Peter dating someone when you’re already almost divorced, is completely different than dating someone when there is no hint of a divorce to your longtime spouse.

My parents helped us when we were just starting our path with children. So what? I help my kids when if needed. WTH.

Our daughter and her husband….28, just bought their first home… “Mom, can you and Dad help us get a lawn tractor “? Sure! We will always help our children to the best of our ability! Our parents did it for us…. Made defense look like they are reaching… terrible for them.

I think it’s VASTLY different when 2 people have agreed to get a divorce, have signed all the paperwork, and are just waiting for it to go through and then start dating people Verse 2 people who are dating while one is still very much married and the other just lost her husband to her brother shooting him. It’s completely different to be sneaking around behind your spouses back vs. being days away from final divorce. I find Prior’s tactics to often be low and off putting. I mean, I do understand calling some of these people out because any of them that were in the inner circle are a bit nutty (visions of god and portals and all that) but certain things he does/says just rub me the wrong way and make me eye roll hard.

But with regard to the line of questioning with David Warwick about he and Melanie seeing each other, I feel that there is a HUGE difference between seeing someone when you’re in the final throws of a divorce, and seeing someone when each of your spouses doesn’t know or approve of it. So Prior’s point was moot for me.

Colby was a young man who had a family, mom got spiritual, he loses his entire family and mom marries her guru? What's not clear?

I want to know why Melani Pawlowski (Lori's niece, Brandon Beaudreau's ex wife) was never charged for anything! And! Got her kids back?! What the heck!

Suggesting Lori's kids ( by prior) that JJ was a problem and we know about the scratch...is a misstep.

If JJ was a lot, why did she sell his service dog, that used to help him manage his emotions. Saying he was a lot and knowing what Lori did, just shows she was denying her children’s needs.

I don't think Prior is giving any thought to how he is presenting himself to the jury. If I were on the jury, I would be disgusted with him by now. It seems as though he just wants to belittle everyone even when it does Chad no good. Also, Prior should have researched LDS more so he didn't have to act like he was confused about things you can easily find on the Internet. Prior presents himself as a crotchety old man who pretends to be polite and smart.

Questioning Colby on the money is really crappy after what Emma said to Chad in the cop car and even though they were digging up children in Chad’s yard, all that Emma and Chad cared about was a transfer of funds. 🤢

Curious if lawyers are able to watch media coverage of the trial or if they are restricted like the jury. If they can watch it Prior has to know he is not being perceived well.

Chad’s kids trying to act like they are better than Colby drives me crazy. He was on RU-vid pleading with his mom when they were all missing. He was screaming at her when she was in jail. How did the Daybells react when they learned of Lori’s missing child?????

When Pryer crossed Colby about the money, it reminded me that Chad's daughter snarked about Cobly when she was talking to Chad, while Colby's murdered siblings where being dug out of Chad's yard. If I was a juror, I'm not going to forget that.

My take from Prior questioning Colby in his “re-cross” about not knowing anything about Chad Daybell just proves that Lori changed so dramatically in the time she met Chad. By Colby’s account it seemed he had a close relationship with Lori, Tylee and JJ as well as his step brothers before she met Chad. Colby didn’t know Chad existed at that time so he can’t say he knew in 2019 Chad was manipulating Lori, he can say it after the fact when he learns his sister and brother are murdered and found in Chad’s backyard, that his mother was dodging the police about the whereabouts of her children, that they’d been missing, that Lori married Chad etc…hindsight is a great thing and when you look at the case he thought he was God and made her believe he was God and by brainwashing her about light and dark souls convinced her that her own children were demons and they had to kill them…I mean, isn’t it obvious. Should Lori be in prison absolutely yes, she’s far from the innocent victim she tries to portray 🙄

As to Colby borrowing money, not everyone is financially independent at 23 years old, especially with a baby. I give my adult kids money from time to time. Hell, I help friends my own age if they need it.

With that question about taking money from Tylee, Pryor made the point that this family--including Lori--was willing to take financial advantage of Tylee (and JJ).

I live in Boise about half of a mile from the courthouse. There was quite the line outside when Lori was here. I am watching this case with interest. Thank you for the insight. As always.

In mormonism, men are placed on a pedestal. They are given "annointings" and "authorities". They can "cast out bad spirits", give "blessings", perform baptisms for their kids. For salvation purposes in the LDS, the wife and kids access to Heaven-especially the 3rd level with Jesus, is reliant on her husband. They believe upon the return of Jesus the husband will resurrect the wife with the "sacred name" she was given at the Endowment Ceremony. The husband also recieves a name but the husband doesn't tell the wife. If the husband is apostate, she won't be resurrected. Each member of the church are given leadership/teaching roles within their ward. They believe whole heartedly that they are the ONLY true church. The environment is wholly passive-aggressive and competitive because how good or holy or acceptable they are is dependent on what they do, their "works". You get secrecy, manipulation, arrogance, pride, ego all mixed together with the concept of men obtaining "God-hood" as Adam did, becoming the God they worship. Thats what all this is about, it's training and earning that right. The psychological implications this has creates very "self-centric" personality.

Just because he can ask it doesn’t mean he should. If it doesn’t add to your client’s defense and you have likability issues, the wiser choice would be to cut out the unnecessary snark. IMO

What kind of parent DOESN’T help their young, grown children? My husband and I have helped with car repairs, furniture, and yes, even $ to help with groceries and gas. Our parents did the same for us. At some point they become stable and then pass it down to the next generation.

Was beung overactive because he has not been given his meds, and his service dog had beeen taken away. Lori couid now point out that he was obviously dark, and had become a zombie. When Prior objected to grounds of hearsay when Warwick was going to explain what Gibb said to him about her phone call with Chad, why couldn’t the prosecutor argue that it’s a statement from a coconspirator?

Question: Is Prior asking to keep so many witnesses under subpoena as a tactic to keep them out of the courtroom and unable to communicate with LE and prosecutors as well as keep them from monitoring the trial? I’m sure it would be difficult if not impossible to prove that but shouldn’t that at least to some extent be unethical if it’s abused?

Did they actually verify if those medications were prescribed to Tammy or if they were just put there by someone else? If so the medical records would say why

I think the questions about the money was a low blow and not necessary.

I believe Chad is 100% involved and Lori and him fed off each other, not one more than the other. However, this feels like another Lori Vallow trial as opposed to Chad’s trial.

I was thinking that sending money to Colby through his sister was a way to HIDE the money. UNTIL, Prior asked basically why they would send money to Colby. I thought it was a fair question. It cleared my mind about her not trying to hide the money. (I don't know a whole lot about this trial. So, I'm probably much like a juror.) Just mho! ;)

David Warwick was flaky as hell in Lori's trial, too. I think that is his normal state of mind.
