The two hood plungers are for the remote start hood sensor which the JK had and then the second plunger is for the new hood triggered alarm.

This side by side comparison makes buying and moding a jk a better idea than buying a jl. A nice lift, tires, bumper and winch makes that jk outshine the more expensive jl. Moded jk beats new jl.

One of the two push switches under the hood is for the remote start system so it can't be activated in the engine started while you're working on it. The other one is for the alarm system.

Current model jk Rubicon and Sahara have that hood insulation pad as well. Used for noise dampening

Great stuff, like your focus on the Jeep in the last few posts. If your ever in So Calif, you should talk to/interview TrailRecon, he a Vet that's a member of San Diego Jeep Club and has many mod posts from the locals, and I think he went to semi, as well as other shows. It would be nice if you did 'local' round-up interviews...Anyway Happy New Year.

Kinda dumb question, we ordered a JLU Rubicon with a manual. Will it have the auto start stop and if it does, when would it engage since most the times at red lights we are not having our foot on the brake?

I do think the new JL looks slightly better than the JK but I'm keeping my YJ. It is just simpler and smaller which works well for me.

Roman, what do you drive as a daily driver?

An interesting observation....why did they change from a reclining handle in the JK to a pull strap for reclining in the JL? Because the side airbag is now contained inside that lower hinge cover in the JL. I prefer the handle, but since they moved the airbag down there, you can now safely use seat covers without hindering the airbag. That's a major improvement over the JK. I hate that I can't use seat covers. I know some manufacturers say you can, but I don't think it is a good idea to put anything over that air bag, for fear of hindering deployment. Most seat covers are not airbag compatible in the JK.

When you guys did the video on the lift kit, in that video you guys said the wheels where Rugged Ridge 17x9 Jesse Spade rims. Was that wrong or are the rims on the JK 18 Rugged Ridge?

Will the 8 speed auto trans from the jl work in the jk with the 3.6 just a curious? Maybe future upgrade?
