Thanks Jerry, I enjoyed that. I lived in Hong Kong, just below the checkerboard for almost two years from '76 to '78 in the RAF. Flew in and out of Kai Tak several times! There are a few good videos on RU-vid of that landing, well done!

Thats amazing. It was a little hard to hear the instructor with the chatter back and forth, but I'd be the same trying to make sure i was doing it right and not nose diving!

Fantastic! My first 747 flight was in September 1971 on board a Pan Am flight from LHR to JFK; my last ever 747 flight was in G-CIVM from LHR-JFK on April 3rd 2017 with BA. I have put the 744 experience on my wish list, so hope to visit sometime in the future and fly Victor Mike!

45:00 Nosewheel steering doesn't lock out on the takeoff roll. It just loses effectivity as the speed increases. It's electrically disengaged when the nose lifts off.
