It so great that you had assistive technology and accommodations through school. I am old enough that I graduated high school before the ADA was a thing and I went to public school. I wish audio books and CCTV's had been a thing in the 80's. It so great what we have available to us now.

I agree with what you’re saying about the talking watch. All the talking watches I’ve ever seen are ugly and bulky. I’ve heard good things about the Apple Watch, and I want one one of these days, but it’s not something I can afford right now.

Hi, Sam, on the subject of talking watches (sort of), let me air a pet peeve. first, let me say I've been retired for 15 years and haven't worn a watch for almost that long, so my opinion is probably out of date. I noted, though, that what the manufacturers thought a visually impaired person needs is big numerals on the clock face. Well, I've known where the numerals are on a clock face since I was five years old (except for the occasional clock that runs counterclockwise). It's not critical that I be able to see the numerals. To tell time, I need to know where the HANDS are on the clock, and the timepiece that makes that easy is a rarity. Or such was my experience back when I cared what time it is.
